It had been a tiring trip in the end and by the time they returned it was late and Sebastian had gone straight to his room to sleep. After the accident, which had freaked him out how it all took place, they had waited for the emergency services and then once they all gave their counts of what happened, normal human process, they were allowed to continue on. It was ironic, how the family of four, were pack members of Ravenwood, returning from a small trip away and caught up in the act of some foolish hooligans. Though, because they had stopped and helped, and word of the incident reached the Ravenwood Pack, when they did arrive there, Alpha John was very grateful to them, wanted to treat them to a thank you dinner and celebration. The male in the car, it had been his son and they had saved the lives of his whole family.
Personally, Sebastian had to thank Adira for the bravery she provided that morning. Jumping out of their owb car and running to help. Putting herself in danger to get all of them out of the way. She did the right thing, and they got very lucky. The family were taken to the local hospital, and then transferred back to the pack hospital. Sebastian knew though, if they had not been werewolves, then likely the two adults would have been killed and physical damaged to the six year old child. The baby, that would have been fine.
When the police arrived, they read out the arrest notes for the other two cars, after being advised by his group that they had been racing and were the cause of the accident that almost killed a whole family. There was no way they would be let off easy from this and likely loose their rights to drive. As always, humans thinking they were being clever but impacting others in a near life ending way.
Not that… werewolves were any different. In fact, sometimes, their would could be very dark and dangerous. In the Redmoon Pack, they were lucky, that rules were followed by it’s members and everyone got a chance to be respected. In other packs, things could be much worse. He was aware of some horrible stories. Places around the world where Alpha’s were dark and cruel, taking slaves or breeding for greedy gains, not respecting woman at all. There were dark stories of young female pups being killed to only allow strong male families. Stories of packs being raided and the woman and children captured into s*****y or sold off to vampires. Stories so horrible that thinking about it made Sebastian hate the world they lived in sometimes.
His pack, the Redmoon Pack, while the largest of their state, and the strongest, deadliest, they were also the most respected and calm pack around. Many wolves came to them for refuge or to start a new life, because they knew once they were a part of the pack, they were cared for and protected like a large family. Packs like the Halfmoon Pack did things slightly differently, they some times did not punish those that did wrong, they sometimes refused others to join them. The two packs lived side by side, but they were different in many ways and that was his first step to seeing the difference that was out there, because the way Halfmoon Pack ran.
While they stayed with the Ravenwood Pack for longer then they intended, it had been a well worth trip out there. Alpha Gabriel, his father, was able to discuss and make plans for the coming war that they did not know when was going to start. They were being strategic and they both agreed that maybe it was time to hunt down this Dark Lord Alexanda, before things got too out of hand. They agreed that they would help each other to the point of guards and warriors at the ready if either needed it. While Ravenwood was two hours away by car, if they wanted to, they could come to each others aid in half and hour if they turned wolf and ran. Thus, that was their plan, they would communicate regularly, the technology that the humans use also in their hands.
During the discussions, Sebastian heard his father talk to Alpha John about Adira and what the plan with her was. He was surprised to hear that his father had asked her to join their pack, but she had not yet given an answer to him. Sebastian was not sure why, but the idea of it excited him, he wanted her to stay and be a part of their pack. She may have had a strange life to start with, but he knew that Adira was a girl that was different to most, and he knew once she really came into her true self, then she would be a powerful wolf. They already suspected the Alpha blood in her, and while some thought that was a bad thing, because it meant she could challenge any of them at any time to became leader, but he knew Adira was not like that. He did not see her as a girl wanting power and leadership. She seemed to just want to live happy and he knew she would find that in Redmoon Pack. It was the safest place for her in the end, due to their personal laws and rules that other packs did not have.
While they were in the meeting with Alpha John, Adira was not. As his father had told him, she was hoping to have words with the Ravenwood pack witch. Juliet was a skilled witch and she was well known for doing many things. She came from a long line of powerful beings and while she was not an actual werewolf, she was mates to one and had two children of her own. Hybrids. They were wolves that could do magic, how strongly their magic was, Sebastian was not aware of, but having them as a go to had always been helpful.
The thing was though, that Adira did not talk much about what happened when she met with Juliet. Alpha Gabriel had asked her on the drive home, but she said very little, indicating that she either did not know much or that she was not ready to discuss what ever had come about their meeting. None of them pushed her to talk, but he could tell that Beta Luke kept looking around at the girl, a question on the tip of his tongue before he would give up and look away again.
Deciding that he could not rest, Sebastian let out a heavy sigh and then got up. He wanted to let his wolf out, to go for a run and so he left the Pack House and made his way to the near by surrounding trees. Taking off his clothing and dumping it onto the ground, he connected with his inner wolf and felt his whole body shift. From standing on two feet, he was now on four paws. His coat was thick black and his wolf body was huge, one of the largest of his kind. That was due to his Alpha blood, his father being the same, and yet, oddly, his whole coat was not completely black. Right near his left under chest area, there was a small white patch. Normally an Alpha was all just one colour and normally black. This made him a little different and he liked that.
Feeling all his wolf senses guide him, Sebastian moved, gliding through the trees at a steady pace, allowing the wind to sweep through his fur, feel free and capable of doing anything. He ran, he jumped at trees, he used all his skills just to give his wolf side some release. It had been a long time, months in fact since he had turned wolf, and the feeling of it, he welcomed greatly.
After at least an hour of messing around, Sebastian’s nose caught whiff of a new smell. He had not smelt it before, and it was not something from his Pack. It was the strange smell of a fresh river and something else. He wanted to know more, knowing he was not near the river, and so Sebastian went forwards, slowly, carefully and not making a sound. He was crouched low as he watched and studied, sensing something ahead of him, but waiting until he caught sight of what ever was there. He suspected an animal, or a person maybe.
And so it was, as Sebastian waited, ten minutes passed before he caught site of a wolf. It was walking around in the field of flowers and its coat was pure white. Was he dreaming again? This was just like his dream. Only… it was just the two of them. He felt calm, and at ease, he did not think the white wolf was going to be a threat to him, and so carefully, not to scare them, he inched closer. He stopped a few feet away from them, looking at the white wolf with curiosity. Their scent was intoxicating and as he sat on his back legs, he saw the white wolf notice him. He could tell it was surprised and about to run, but then stopped, looking at him again.
The moment the eyes of their wolves met, an instant pull ran through Sebastian. He knew that pull, there was no doubt about it. The pull was like his whole soul was suddenly devoted to the white wolf and them only. He wanted to get closer, he wanted to touch them. The white wolf, just like in his dream, was there before him and they were his mate, his other half, the one he would live and die for. Who were they? What was their name? Had he met them before? Possibly not, seeing this was the first time he felt this strength of a pull.
Sebastian was happy, he had finally found the woman he was looking for, the one he would spend the rest of his life with. They were silent and staring, taking each other in. He inched closer again and they did not move, just watched him. He was right next to them, and using his snout, he nudged them, in an affectionate way. They nudged back, accepting his action and pleased, he gave them a quick lick. He liked this, liked the feeling of being near, the electricity he felt when he licked her.
You are beautiful…. I am Sebastian, of the Redmoon Pack.
He wanted them to know who he was, so they could find him easy. Not that he was lost. They were right in front of each other. He knew the mind link would work, they were connected as mates after all. He waited, hoping the white wolf would respond, tell him who they were and where they came from.
Sebastian received a shock though, as a moment later, the white wolf turned and ran, leaving him standing there stunned. He then started to run following, trying to catch up. Why had they ran? It made no sense. It had seemed that they had accepted him, until he spoke? Were they scared of him… did they know who he was? He tried to follow but Sebastian found very quickly that he had lost the sight and scent of the white wolf.
Returning home, Sebastian felt dejected, he knew the wolf running away was not a complete rejection, there must have been a reason for their actions, but it still saddened him. He was so close and yet, now he felt so far. He had seen his mate… in wolf form… but he could not hold her like he wanted, to bring her home and show his family. Should he even mention it? Sebastian was not sure and so for a while, he just sat on his bed again, thinking it all over. Playing the scent of the White Wolf in his mind.
White Wolf!
He jumped up from his bed, he knew his father would be up in the office so he rushed down the halls and stairs to the office, rushing in. His father looked up surprised to see his son, and then stood when he saw Sebastian’s look.
“What is it?” Alpha Gabriel asked.
“I saw her.” Sebastian said catching his breath.
“Who?” His father asked confused.
“The White Wolf… I am sure it was the same one from the dream…” Sebastian expressed.
“In another dream?” Alpha Gabriel asked.
“No… I went for a run, in wolf form. I met her… in the forest.” Sebastian explained, feeling calm now.
“So… the wolf is real.” Alpha Gabriel said with a thoughtful look.
“And… I know for sure… she is my mate.” Sebastian added.
“Your mate?” his father asked surprised.
“Yes… we were both in wolf form, she was absolutely beautiful, pure white and so gentle. But… when I spoke, communicated through the mate bond link… she ran away.” He explained.
“She… rejected you?” Alpha Gabriel gasped looking him up and down.
“No… there is no rejection… she just… maybe needs time. I told her who I was, so maybe it was a shock to her… maybe she knows of me and will come looking soon.” He said hopeful.
“Son… I am… proud of you.” Alpha Gabriel expressed. “For being so well level headed over everything that has been going on recently. I am glad to hear you have found your mate finally. Maybe you were right, maybe Adira is not the right girl…. Just a strange pull to her.”
Sebastian fell silent at his father words. It was clear his father liked Adira and would not have minded if she had been Sebastian’s mate. He could not deny the pull to her and he felt guilty that he had now found his mate, considering how he felt about her, but he knew a mate bond was stronger then anything and he could not deny the White Wolf of that.
Some tricky times were ahead, he knew, but he had to face it. After all, he was going to be Alpha soon, once his father felt it was the right time. He was eighteen now after all.. He hoped by then, he would meet his mate again, and be able to see who she was in person. He hoped she was kind and gentle, he hoped she would accept him and love him back, just like he was already loving her.
