Kabanata 1
Sabi nila, You Only Live Once (YOLO). That’s why you need to seize every moment. Every time the clock starts to tick make sure to make wonderful memories and leave a markable step behind.
That’s my one and only motto. And that’s why I’ll keep myself busy all the time. Parties everywhere. Shopping everywhere. Hard liquor everywhere. Smokes everywhere.
That’s the definition of life for me.
“Another shot of tequila.”
I know way too well how to play with those kind of jerks anyway.
“Why do you care? Just get me what I want.” Mataray na sagot ko dito.
He tilted his head and I followed his gaze. What I’m sure is I’m always the first customer of this bar.
“I have money and I can pay. Just get me what I want or do you want to be jobless after this?”
“I just-“
Galit syang tumingin sa’kin. And then within a second his facial expression became soft.
“Nevermind.” Mahinang sagot nito.
The way he looked at me earlier. I can’t explain what was that and I’m not really sure kung pag-aalala ba ang nakita ko sa mga mata nya or I’m just seeing things.
I guess it’s the latter one.
Instead arguing with him I just focused my eyes on my surroundings.
Kanya-kanyang grupo ang mga taong nandito. Nagsisigawan at nagtatawanan. Most of the people are dancing and drinking in every corners while there are some who are just flirting.
I totally don’t mind if I see them naked and making out in front of me. The hell I care about them and I’m used to it already.
I’m more comfortable in this bar than in my own home. For the past three years, this place has been my comfort zone. If the owner allowed me before to rent one of the VIP rooms here I’m willing to make this as my apartment.
Pag sa bahay kasi, I feel suffocated every time. May tao man o wala. I just don’t like being there. Feeling empty and alone.
“One shot of tequila.”
“Thanks.”
“Generation nowadays.” Sabay talikod nito sa’kin.
“And what do you mean by that?” I asked.
“Oh, nothing. Don’t mind me.” He answered then crooked a smile.
“Don’t you know who I am?” I have no intentions para ipamukha sana sa taong ito kung sino ako pero pinipilit nya ako.
“I know you. Christina Elise. The rich, stubborn and narrow-minded lady of the Sandoval, right?”
And then it happened, I just found myself slapped this arrogant bartender.
“Yes, I’m stubborn and narrow-minded lady but you don’t have the right to judge me. Did you think that the generation you’re talking about is having fun drinking all night and get drunk? It’s not just simple like the way you think it is. It’s more than that. You just know my name but you don’t know me and you don’t know my f*****g story.”
I can’t believe I just lost my temper to this guy. Maybe this is the side effect of the tequila he brought me earlier. I’m becoming sensitive and vulnerable.
“Hey, this will help you to calm a bit.” A random guy approached me and handed me a drink.
Just who the hell he think he is?!
“Don’t drink this. Just go home, Miss Sandoval.”
“Let my hand go. Who do you think you are?! You’re just a bartender. And I’ll make sure that after this wala ka ng trabaho at wala ng bar na tatanggap sa’yo!”.
I really didn’t mean what I said but after hearing those. He looked hurt and slowly ley my hand go. And that’s the time the guy who offered me a drink to simply touch my waist and pull me closer to him.
Waiting for opportunity, huh.
Before I could speak again, someone from behind touched the guy’s hand before it travels to God knows were.
“Don’t touch her.”
One sentence.
Just one sentence makes my heart shiver and warmth at the same time.
So, he did came huh?
“Dude, what’s your problem huh?” Tanong ni Mr. M. Short for Manyakis.
“Babe, do you know this guy? Is this your boyfriend?” Baling naman nito sa’kin. Dahilan para harapin ko sila.
“I don’t have a boyfriend. And I don’t know him.” I answered without a blink of an eye.
I saw his jaw tightened. Proving that he’s slowly losing his patience.
“See? The girl doesn’t know you dude. But if you really want her, ako munang mauuna then your turn. Or if you want we could do a threesome? What do you think huh?”
Wrong choice of words and wrong move.
And within a second, namimilipit na sa sakit si Mr. M dahil nabali lang naman ang mga daliri nya sa kamay.
Then that’s the time he grabbed my hand.
“She’s my w***e. Sa akin sya sasa-“
Before Mr. M could finished his sentence.
Serves him right.
“If you ever lay a finger on my sister again. I swear, buburahin ko yang pagmumukha mo.”
Then we stormed out of the bar. Leaving the audiences and Mr. M dumbfounded from what was happen.
“Sakay.” Utos nya sa’kin.
“Don’t want to.
I smirked habang nakikita syang frustrated.
“You’re really testing my patience, young lady. You’re already successful for making me a scene earlier. What else do you want huh?”
“Cut the crap. We both know what I want. And that’s you.” I seductively said without blinking. And then I slowly put my hands on his broad chest.
“You’re drunk. Kung anu-ano nang sinasabi mo. Tina, I’m your brother.”
“No, we’re not. We both know that we’re not blood related at all.”
“Please, don’t say that. You’re my sister. Hindi yun nagbago mula noon at hanggang ngayon. Can we just go home already? Mom and dad are definitely worried.”
And upon hearing those words nagsimula na naming kumulo ang dugo ko.
“If you want to go home. Just go home without me!”
“Don’t raise your voice to me young lady. If mom allows you to do that to her then ibahin mo’ko. And don’t make me drag you para lang sumakay sa kotse. Whether you like it or not, we’re going home.”
I’m not really sure what’s the reason why my life is so f****d up.
One, My parents raise me all this years with their lies.
Two, I don’t know who I really am.
