CLARA’S POV
I only felt comfortable when we were back in the car.
Ruby hated to leave, but it was already getting very late, time edging closer to midnight and I had to go and check up on Nico. She insisted that Dominic must have already tucked him into bed by now and although I knew that was likely true, I just wanted to leave. I felt a cold, creepy feeling at the back of my neck that made the thin hairs there hackle slightly. It felt like I was being watched but every time that I turned around, I saw nothing.
“What the hell is going on?” I had asked myself multiple times.
“Could just be the guards, you are not used to them.” A voice in my head had suggested at some point when Ruby went to the dance floor and let herself loose. “Maybe you just need to dance too.”
