His Luna Series #2

“Why is blue your favorite color?”

“Because it’s the color of your eyes and Mariam’s.”

“Tell me more, beautiful.”

“I’ve always been afraid of eyes. Angry eyes, judging eyes—they filled me with dread. They were a constant reminder of the pain and fear that had shaped my life. But your eyes, and Mariam’s, they’re different. They’re filled with love and kindness. They make me feel safe and cherished like I’m finally seen and understood. They held a warmth and acceptance that I’d never experienced. They didn’t judge or condemn; they loved. That’s why blue is my favorite color. It reminds me of the love in your eyes, which has healed the wounds of my past and filled my heart with hope for the future.”

Behati, an orphan and a slave, had endured a life of torment and suffering. She had lost her memories and awoke one day when she was only a child within the Moonbane Pack, a group involved in the illegal slave trade. Their cruel treatment left her with deep trauma and suffering. Behati’s life within the Moonbane Pack was marked by constant fear, physical abuse, and emotional neglect. She was forced to endure harsh labor, witnessing the suffering of others and being subjected to the whims of her cruel masters. The trauma of her experiences had deeply scarred her, leaving her with a sense of hopelessness and despair. Yet Behati has a secret: she can glimpse into the future through her dreams.

In the distant town of Zarmithia, Alpha Malachi Vandenberg, one of the Gifted and the chosen of the moon goddess, possessed a formidable wolf. Alpha Malachi was a renowned figure in Zarmithia, respected for his strength, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to his pack. He was known for his fierce loyalty and his steadfast commitment to protecting his people.

While he had never shown interest in finding a mate, his life was about to change dramatically upon meeting Behati, the wolfless slave marked by deep trauma.

His Slave Luna: Prologue
His Slave Luna: Prologue “I had already given up on life, but thanks to you, I found the strength to embrace life anew. And now, I choose to live it with you.” The surrounding chaos was deafening. The Moonbane Pack was under attack once more, the air filled with the terrifying howls of rogues and desperate cries. I knew this was my chance, my opportunity to escape this hellish place. Without a second thought, I slipped out of the packhouse, disappearing into the dense forest. My heart pounded in my chest as I ran, my feet pounding against the forest floor, and my breathing ragged and labored. I didn’t know where I was going, but I knew I had to keep moving. The wind whipped through my hair, while the scent of pine needles filled my nostrils. I pushed my battered body to its limits, ignoring the pain that shot through my legs with every stride, and the burning in my lungs. I focused on one thing: escape. I had to get away from the Moonbane Pack, to leave behind a life of suffering and despair. I ran and ran until my body ached, and my breath grew ragged. But I refused to stop. I had to keep going, no matter what. I had to break free from the chains of slavery, to claim my freedom. Not until a terrifying growl echoed behind me, freezing me in my tracks. I turned to face the source of the sound while my heart was pounding in my chest. There, I saw a fearsome rogue wolf emerge from the shadows, its eyes fixed on me with a predatory glint. I stumbled backward because my feet were caught in the roots of a tree. Fear gripped my heart as the rogue drew closer while its fangs bared. I just closed my eyes, bracing myself for the inevitable, but the attack never came. Because instead of the expected pain, I just heard another, more powerful growl. A sound that sent shivers down my spine. I opened my eyes, and there, I saw a majestic silver wolf standing over the rogue and its teeth sunk deep into its neck. The rogue let out a final, agonized howl before falling silent while I watched the whole cruel scene. Then the silver wolf turned its gaze towards me. I noticed its glowing eyes softened, and its expression filled with compassion. Suddenly, I just felt a sense of safety and protection. My eyes remained fixed on the silver wolf who was oddly familiar as it approached me, its powerful strides slowing as it drew closer. Until its head lowered as its eyes met mine. In a moment of instinctive trust, I leaned forward, resting my head against its soft fur. I knew this silver wolf was a stranger but at the same time oddly familiar. Suddenly, I felt strong arms encircling me, a comforting warmth enveloping my trembling body, offering comfort and protection. Until a gentle and reassuring voice broke the silence. “Behati…” ***
