Time To Get Mining, My Fair Baroness...!

1420 Words
26th December 2018 / 1018 After I had my hurried supper with Zairon at the dining table, as a big sister, I cleared up the mess made by Zairon. I had to wait for him to finish eating all the chicken wings that he had dumped on his plate. Fortunately, he was able to complete all the chicken wings and was lazing on the dining chair after he had finished with his food. Frankly speaking, Zairon was a glutton compared to me, since my metabolism rate was enhanced and raised by the S-Class and A-Class that had been infused within me. "Leaving so soon, Ate? By the way, it seems there was a lot of news regarding this MMORPG game that had taken the world by storm. There was a lot of international and global corporations that are investing heavily in it." "I heard from my friends that they are buying gaming consoles to play this game, but then there was no more stock left in the market. Some game console makers are joining up as part of their conglomerate to get the gaming consoles for the rest of the gamers that would be joining the game sooner or later." "Does this game really bring in the money in the real world once you have credits to exchange? I would like to join also, but if I could pay for a gaming console, that is." Zairon was sulking since he was unable to lay his hands on a gaming console just like mine and have to wait for the manufacturers to churn them out by the masses. I knew about this long ago and had bought the gaming console at a steal before. Right now, the gaming consoles would cost at least 1.5x the amount that I had bought. "Of course, this MMORPG brings in the BIG bucks, you know. It is a waste if you do not join us. Sooner or later, there would be millions of gamers online, and at this early stage, there are about 100,000 gamers already registered on the first hour." Speaking about credits, at this moment it was low compared to a few months into the game. I would be better off collecting the credits since I knew what I should do to get those credits from. "Alright, then. Nanay, Tatay... I should be heading for 'work' now. I would be seeing you in 5 hours and be here for breakfast. If I do not come out from my room, just leave the breakfast on the table then. I might be busy doing something else in the gaming console and would not be able to leave the game at all." I walked up to where both of my parents were cuddled in front of the television. They heard about the game I was playing, and the popularity was already being spread throughout the globe. "In that case, then from now on, you would be responsible for all the tuition fees for Zairon, would that be fine? At least we can use the extra allowance to save up for some rainy days, would that be alright with you?" Tatay was highlighting to me since they had been waiting for me to bring the first dollar into the household. I winked at my Tatay and gave him a thumb's up as I proceed to my bedroom and shut the door behind me. "Sigh... Look at our daughter, dear. She just graduated from university, had no job and plays the online game all day long. Do you think she would be better off having a boyfriend soo that at least there would be some advancement in her life?" Nanay looked at Tatay with a worried look but Tatay, knowing what I had vowed to him when I took a personal loan without Nanay's knowledge, simply smiled back. I had already informed him that I would be 'working' hard in this MMORPG game so that I would be able to pay back every single cent that I had loaned from him. I had read and re-read the Wikipedia of the game for some time before investing a gaming console. I was assured that the MMORPG - The Lord Of The Red Dragon, does have its monetary benefits, even on a short run. The time to earn credits is NOW and then to backtrack and get the best out of this game...! =*= I slowly materialise in the cave that I had last logged off, and everything seemed to be in order. I was unable to do anything as I was under the impervious mode, and all I could do was to be like an observer for the remaining 15 seconds. After it had passed, I immediately selected the pickaxe within my spatial storage space and armed myself. I loaded up the paper doll statistics and noted the change of the attributes within it. There were six attributes, and five remained unchanged. The one that had made a significant change was my CONS which also represents my HP or Lifeforce. It was 13 before, and now it had increased to 34. This gives about 272 HP Value, which was not bad since we wizards were considered as glass cannons. We deal a considerable amount of damage, but we take almost the same amount. That was the reason why we need to have a secondary profession or class that would only be unlocked when we have reached a certain level. Wizards would stay in the back-liners of a party as we deal a lot of damage of AoE and DoT on stationary and stunned targets. I slung the pickaxe over my shoulders with ease as I made my way through the winding tunnels inside the cave. "This is easy, man. All I could do was to remain at a certain distance from the Bronze Sabre Tooth Tiger, and it would not be able to detect me. No matter how loud the noise I make, I would not be able to aggro the damn beast. So if I do not raise the aggro of the Bronze Sabre Tooth Tiger, no harm would come to me, am I right?" As I walked along the winding tunnel, I had wished for the tunnel to be hiding some chest that would not need any keys to open. I was hoping to find some handful of minerals so that I could store them and use them later as a bargaining chip to sell those off or improve the quality of it. In the earlier part of this game, I do not think anyone would have any skills to enhance or improve the quality of these minerals. I thought to myself as I made my way around until I saw a bright clearing ahead. "Keh... I had finally reached the exit of this darned cave. No one would be able to find this place in the next few months, and all I could do now is to mine for the desired crystals. =*= Mining does drop the required ores and minerals. Since I had picked Votrieburg, I had equipped a non-destructible pickaxe, and at the same time, it had high durability as well. I would not be buying something that needs constant repair and upgrades. This single pickaxe would do the job well and could even extract Dianium ores which required at least Level 60 to mine them. Once I exit from the opening of the cave, I saw the Bronze Sabre Tooth Tiger perched on top of the highest ground that was the centre of the many outcropping rocks. These rocks were unlike those mines that bore those minerals. Once it had exhausted, it would respawn once more in 60 minutes. I opened my system panel once again and clicked 'auto-gather' on it. This would save the hassle of picking those ores and minerals as I start my project. I looked at the layout of the outcropping rocks and found that it was organised in a circular form. "Keh... This would be easy-peasy. I come for this hard manual labour, and that's the reason my wrist weights are still attached to me. Come on, Baroness. Show to the world what you are made of...!" I picked the closest rock outcrop and swung the pickaxe. I do not have to bring it down hard, but used the momentum and weight of the pickaxe to do the rest of the work for me. *T I N K* *T I N K* *T I N K* The pickaxe connected with the outcropping rock as shards flew and the commotion did not raise the aggro of the Bronze Sabre Tooth Tiger at all...!
