Grind Those Hips, Baby...!!!

26th December 1018 / 2018 0630hrs *T I N K* *T I N K* *T I N K* *T I N K* *T I N K* I swung my pickaxe nonstop for the past 3 hours, and I finally took a breather. Even though eating and drinking would not affect one in the real world, but here it is more like an accessory. To do it or not does not affect your status at all. Luckily, there was a small brook over near the top of the mountains as the Bronze Sabre Tooth Tiger stood near it. I tiptoed when I was nearing the spot where the Bronze Sabre Tooth Tiger was pawing and pacing around the area. "I just need to wash myself a bit and get rid of the grime stuck to myself. This is terribly hard work, and fortunately, with the accumulated points in DAM from the pieces of armour that I was wearing, I had gotten a total of STR +7." After I had refreshed myself, I went back to work on the outcropping rocks. The thing with these outcropping rocks was that it would not only drop the ice crystals. It would drop rocks meant for masonry too. However, it has its hidden perks as well. These rocks would be one of the elements to donate to a guild to raise one's reputation point. It only works if a gamer already has established a guild, or else it would just be cumbersome for one to carry around in its spatial storage space. No NPC would buy these masonries at all...! To establish a guild, one has to have a peerage title and also would have accumulated reputation points to enable one to register a guild and lastly, using reputation points too, to buy lands across the City. Besides gaining rocks in the beginning stages, mining would also occasionally drop semi-precious gemstones such as topaz and white zirconia (ornamental stones that could be traded with any NPC in the marketplace). The latter was widely known to be mistaken as Diamonds...! After 3 hours of picking at these outcropping rocks, I had managed to automatically gather ice crystals, masonries and a bunch of topaz and white zirconia that had filled most of the empty slots in my spatial storage space. Each slot enables me to carry up to 999 items (only for harvested items that exclude dropped items), and I have to rent a storage space from one of the merchants that handled this kind of facility. The ice crystals, topaz and white zirconia semi-precious gemstones had taken up three slots altogether, leaving me with 9 slots that had been filled with untradeable items. "Gotta get rid of all that junk, all that junk inside my trunk." I hummed a tune which everyone was most familiar with and decided to call it a day and head back to the City of Votrieburg. Since I had received the bounty rewards from Magistrate Maelstorm, it would be time for me to rent some storage spaces to dump the untradeable materials there. It would be used later on for the guild. Furthermore, I am gaming alone right now and have not assembled my own party yet. Since there is no guild for the moment, I decided to call it a workshop - something worth to be called a work in progress if any of those busybody gamers were to approach me. Plus, it would be best to check-in to the local tavern in the City so that our character would be able to rest and heal as we go about our daily activities in the real world. Also, it may look kind of wasteful and lavish since it costs credits to check-in, however, I do have my own reasons. We would lose our items if we logged off anywhere else in the City or even in the areas that the gamers were farming for bountiful harvests. "Since I'm going to sell off these semi-precious gemstones, I would then be getting some portals for the moment. It would be a waste of time for me to run to and fro from the City to The Wintry Hills. Having town portals handy with me sure going to save me a lot of time...!" I thought to myself as I made my way back to the cave opening that leads to the perimeter walls at the foot of The Wintry Hills. Within an hour, I arrived at the City of Votrieburg. Within 6 hours, quite a handful of gamers had already upgraded themselves through grinding monsters which are lower of equivalent to their own levels. I chuckled to myself as I strolled to the marketplace as I entered the Town Square. "You all have got it wrong, guys...!" I thought to myself as I walked past a group of gamers as one of them, stared intently at me. "Psst, guys...! That's the girl who splattered the Mayor of the Town Hall with rotten tomatoes...! You should be there to witness how she has done that." "A lot of gamers were pissed at her for disrupting the distribution of quests. Not to mention those who lined for and gotten their first quest, and then had no way to accomplish it since no one would be replacing the Mayor of the Town Hall already...!" "I felt pity for those gamers who had spent over an hour to queue in line. In the end, all those who get the quests earlier were f****d up by this girl. Hahaha...!" "I heard she was an NPC and had gotten a badge after getting the Mayor arrested or something. She had unlocked a hidden quest, and something tells me that she is a BETA TESTER or something. If not she would not be walking around, masquerading as an NPC." "Hey, you guys want to trail her or not? She is going to some NPC and see what she is doing there, okay?" I knew I would attract a lot of attention, and fortunately, I had masked my ID for now. I made a beeline to one of the storage merchants who was smoking a cigarette on a long stick holder and greeted him. Likewise, respect begets respect, and after I had disposed of all the semi-precious stones that I had collected at The Wintry Hills, I had close to 7000 credits with me. "How much would the rental be for a year, kind merchant?" "Oh, it would just be 1000 credits per storage space. There would be 10 slots in them and its a limit of only 99 items, compared to the spatial storage space on yourself, Beast Tamer." Damn, even during those early games, these storage spaces really costs a bomb...! I sighed to myself as I calculated that I need to get the town portals as well from another merchant. "Here you go, kind merchant. 5000 credits for 5 storage spaces." "Oh, thank you, Beast Tamer. For every rental of 5 storage spaces, you would be entitled one storage space free. It means that you now have 6 storage spaces, a rental for a full year at no additional cost, Beast Tamer." "WOW... That's a done deal. I almost forgot that rent 5 get 1 free offer still stands over here. Thank you so much, kind merchant." "No, I should be the one thanking you, Beast Tamer. Are you going to use your storage warehouse now? You need to key in a 6 digit pin before you could utilise the space. Take a look at your interface, please." The storage merchant motioned me to look at my system panel, as a keypad was there, and I need to key-in a 6 digit personal code twice to confirm its use. Once I had done so, the keypad disappeared from view, and I was able to access my storage warehouse from my own system panel. After dumping in the rocks and ice crystals inside, I exited from the storage warehouse and made my way to another merchant that sells town scrolls or teleport scrolls. I saw a sign that says 'General Merchandise' and I made a beeline there and prepared myself to spend lavishly once again.
