Meeting Again?

My flight number was called as there was an issue with my flight being overbooked. "The flight was oversold, there are 2 options. We can get you on a later flight which departs in an hour or a flight that departs in 5 hours. Do we have any volunteers to be bumped to any of the other flights?" The flight attendant asked, and I watched curiously as everyone murmured among themselves, no one volunteering. "I need to leave in an hour. I have a check-in time that can't be missed, or I will lose my room. If I volunteer, can I get an upgrade?" I asked and used my pitiful face. I don't know if my face worked, but I was upgraded to first class. I figured it was more likely a seat was available. The passenger service assistant had a smile on her face while she printed my new ticket. I boarded my connecting flight and I put my bag in the overhead compartment. I was prepared to read a novel as I would not be able to sleep again after sleeping for 4 hours. Getting settled in my seat while others moved around me, I was not really paying close attention to who else was coming on the flight. I was already settled in my seat and started to read my chosen novel. Activity was happening now and then, but I didn't glance up. I then felt the need to glance up and saw him coming down the aisle. I felt my eyes widen into saucers. I guess he also felt my eyes because he looked right at me. I saw him visibly pause and a curious look came into his eyes. I smiled in a weird way and looked back down at my book. I glanced up again when someone sat beside me. "Interesting, meeting you here" he said, smiling at me. "Interesting indeed. I didn't think you would remember me". I responded, also smiling and tapping my nose. I did that movement whenever I was nervous. "Told you I would remember you, Meloney." "Yes, you did say that" I said this time with a giggle. "How are you?" I asked him and watched his eyes relax. "I am tired but I am ok" "I can imagine. Your fans have a running joke that you have a portal because you always zoom from one location to the next." I laughed again and tapped my nose. "Since we have this serendipitous meeting, may I ask you a few questions? Just for my own edification?" I asked, looking at him. "You don't have to answer if you don't want to." I added. "Sure" he answered. I could see the curiosity in his eyes. "You have been having back to back concerts, press events and brand events. Why do you have such a hectic schedule?" "I have a goal to meet before a certain age" "It's good to have goals but getting to know about you, I can't help but worry you are overtaxing yourself." "I have a good team around me that will look after my well-being." "That's good. Your body knows itself best, so listen to it." I added silently. "I agree. Did you have other questions?" "Oh yeah, like loads. Well, not loads, just about 20 or so..." "Oh then not a lot" he said, and I could hear the silent chuckle in his voice. "Ok, hit me. I'll see how much I can answer." "Ok, hmm. I have seen you in different hair colors. Is your hair still healthy?" "It's getting back to being healthy but not fully?" "Do you have a favorite jewelry? Will you always carry it?" "Yes" he answers and shows me the ring on his finger. "This is my favorite ring" "Did you intend to pull influence from Michael Jackson?" "I never had plans to really get into dance. I met some great dancers and started to love it, so I definitely look for great performers like Michael." "Yeah, he was something else entirely." I had more questions, but boarding had finished, and the air host was starting the flight instructions. I listened to the instructions. I had flown three times already, but I always find it interesting how each flight crew does things a bit differently. The instructions were the same, but each crew member seemed to place them in their own words. Once the seat belt sign was on, and we started to taxi to the runway, I leaned my head back and said a silent prayer. We took off and had a typical take off and smooth off at, I assume, 31000 feet. "Are you ok?" "I am ok. I was just saying a prayer. Are you religious?" "I am a Christian. Not baptized or anything, but that's the religion I practice." "Me too, I am baptized though. Almost 3 years at this point."
