Soon most of America had been infected with this virus and only a select few were able to survive. Somehow it spreaded to the rest of the world causing chaos everywhere. Chapter One
What nobody ever expected to happen ended up happening. People attacking other people. It all started a few months ago when someone was bitten by either a ferret or monkey. Nobody really knows since everything happened so fast. People chewing each other's faces off and then coming back to life. It was almost as if they were hungry and didn't know any better. Eventually that was found the be false since the Walkers don't attack animals often enough. There must be something that warrants them to attack other humans. Yet nobody knew what it was. Jessie had been at training in her covens college for young witches and wizards. The coven tended to train others from different covens. The university was huge, having a different wing for each element. There was a top floor for those who happened to be gifted by all the elements. However that had been pretty small in comparison as not many did. Only one in each coven had that ability. Jessie had been hoping to be that one, but when it was her best friend Jessie had gotten really upset. The day everything happened Jessie had been on her way to apologize. Seeing her friend chewing on someone else, Jessie had been very confused. Jessie attempted to get her friends attention when the girl attacked Jessie. Jessie was able to push her friend away before being bitten or anything. Jessie after turning around, saw some more people being attacked. Jessie ran, unsure of what else do to. Running as fast as her legs could take her all the way home. Jessie had to dodge multiple of people attacking her and she was freaking out. Getting home it was like her entire home had been ransacked. Quickly Jessie had looked around trying to find a sign of anyone being home. Instead upon entering her baby sisters room the sight she saw was heartbreaking. Quickly using her powers to make a sword out of water, Jessie killed the monster attacking her sister. They were no longer people to Jessie, now just the monsters who killed her baby sister. Jessie packed some of her clothes and other essentials. along with some food and shoved it into the back of her car. Jessie turned the car over and just drove out of town. It was difficult and Jessie had to take about a thousand detours. Thankfully Jessie knew the city like the back of her hand after growing up here. Soon she made it onto the outskirts of town where she found a few more survivors. Living out there was interesting to say the least. Jessie had only been with them for a week. She was scared to get close to any of them since she didn't know them. It was a bit of a weird relationship but Jessie hunted for them having her bow and arrow. Jessie was thankful that one night she happened to have been sleeping in her car. Jessie heard the screams first and then the banging on her car window. Out of pure survival Jessie quickly started her car and drove off. Not looking back the entire time she drove off. Jessie was an introvert and preferred to be alone most of the time. Jessie drove the roads she knew and was hoping to not be stuck anywhere. Maybe the island would be safe but she had a serious doubt about that. Jessie knew that a hurricane had recently caused an rv park near the beach to be condemned and nothing had been done to the park in years. Some of the houses must still be livable at least for right now. Jessie made her way towards those mobile homes. Once she got there Jessie did have to push through a few of the monsters and when she did the entire park was filled with the monsters. How was that even possible when nobody had been living in there? Disappointed Jessie decided to try and drive north out of her hometown of South West Florida. Nothing would ever be the same and she was quite terrified. Most of the highway were blocked as everyone tried to take them to escape. Jessie knew these roads like the back of her hand so she was able to travel the back roads until she found a house in the middle of no where. She had passed this house once on the way to state championships for her bowling team. Taking her knife she turned her car off and knocked on the door. When nobody said anything Jessie tried to open the door finding it unlocked. Jessie slowly searched every room in the house. Which turned out to be a bit small. Jessie was trying to be quiet as to not alert a monster if it had been hiding in there. Thankfully the house was empty and no sign of any humans living here either. After searching the outside parameter Jessie got her things out of her car. After everything was safely inside Jessie blocked the front door from being open. Then got to work covering all the windows in anything she could find. The other doors she could cover the bottom with a pillow or blanket to block out the light. Jessie fully believed the monsters were attracted to light and that's why they found them that night. There had been a big campfire and Jessie tried to warn the survivors with her. None listened to her like she knew the wouldn't. Jessie peaked outside one of her makeshift curtains and saw she still had a bit of daylight left. So she used that to her advantage to move some furniture in front of the other doors. Once the day light disappeared the monsters would be out in full force. Jessie didn't know how they would be out where she was but she still wanted to be careful. And as the sun set Jessie curled herself up on the couch. Her dagger under her pillow and bow on the ground in front of her. This would be the first night where Jessie was sleeping on something other than her car seat. She wanted to make sure she could ward off any unwanted visitors. Making sure all the candles were off one last time Jessie closed her eyes hoping to fall into blissful sleep. Oh how unlucky she was.
