Chapter Four.

The way to his pack was a bit scary for Jessie. Lots of tight turns and near misses. Yes they may patrol the border but they have to be careful to not get bit. The monsters were slower than the wolves but a few were fast. Mutated from humans and others doing drugs. Some drugs apparently made fast ones and others made super strong ones. Henry had yet to see a really strong one, only heard a story from someone who ran from one. Jessie had held on tight to Henry the entire way to the safety of his pack house. Jessie felt the bike stop and she finally felt safe enough to look up. The pack house was bigger than the house she was just at. Yet not as big as some of them that she has seen. "We don't have a lot of us anymore. We had to move back to the old pack house to make sure we could protect everyone." Henry said stepping off the bike and extending a hand to Jessie. She took his hand reluctantly still not quite sure she could trust him. "he's our mate of course we can trust him." The voice said again and Jessie huffed. "who are you." Jessie thought to the voice in her head. but before it could reply Henry spoke up. "Talking to your wolf? Thought you were a witch." He said not really a question more a statement. "My what? No of course I'm a witch. I can't have a wolf what are you talking about." "you are so dumb. I have the dumbest human. You are more than a witch my dear and soon you will find out. but yes I am your wolf. My name is Serena." This can't be happening. Jessie's parents were both full witches right? Jessie felt like her whole head was spinning and she eventually passed out and saw nothing but black. Henry was quick to scoop Jessie into his arms before she hit the ground. Feeling the sparks Henry took a deep breathe trying to calm his wolf. Who was confused and angry about the situation. Their mate wasn't a full witch and part wolf. They could smell another scent coming from their mate but they were clueless. All the two knew was she was special. Henry brought her to the pack doctor, who managed to survive almost being bitten. If it hadn't been for Henry the doctor would be lost. Henry placed her on the bed and waited for the doctor to come in. The room was pretty small but did its job. They never bothered to paint, having little time once the Walkers came. The bed was just a simple gurney with a small pad for comfort. They hadn't had a lot of money after having to transfer locations. Henry's father had been an oldie and wanted to follow traditional values. While it was fine. things needed to change. Some views hurt members of the pack and that was one thing Henry would never be able to do. Once he did the doctor looked Jessie over. Once he was done he looked up at Henry and spoke. "She just needs rest Alpha. It seems the information of her not being a full witch hit her pretty hard. Her wolf is trying to calm her down but it's hard." The doctor spoke and Henry nodded. Scooping Jessie up in his arms again Henry gave the doctor another nod. "I'll bring her to my room and keep her safe." Henry said as he walked out of the room. The pack house was only really three floors. Bottom being where all the warriors and other pack members lived. The omega lived in the same floor since they couldn't have a basement in Florida. The bottom floor was pretty large with a bunch of twists and turns. The second floor was for the Beta, Gamma, And the pack doctor. The head warrior also lived on the second floor. The top floor was strictly for the Alphas family, The Alpha and his Luna. They had one elevator to go up and down the three floors. however electricity was out everywhere since nobody was working the plants. The pack was working on getting the solar panels working but that took time. The head person in charge of the project projected with the way the world is it might take them a few months. If they could have gotten the parts before the world took a sh*t then maybe it would be done soon. Thankfully he only had to go up one flight of stairs. Which saved his back from having to carry her anymore. His room was at the end of the hall. The luna had her own office. Henry would never call it her room. His room was hers now. There was zero way Henry would be able to live separately like his parents had. His room was pretty big in comparison, it did not have its own shower though. The one draw back. Each floor had three communal showers, females, males, and mated couples. This way the single members didn't have to come across a mating scene. and the Mate showers were only open to one couple at a time. Henry's room was white like the rest of the Pack house. However his bed and everything else in his room was a dark red. Black accented things in his room, but it was mostly dark red. His king bed in the middle of the room and a desk with multiple screens. This was his safe haven and even though he had his own office Henry did more work in here. After Henry placed Jessie on his bed Henry looked around quickly. Trying to figure out if he could sneak off to shower or if he should just risk falling asleep next to her. Henry decided after a few minutes to risk it and just sleep. He did change clothes but after that he just laid down next to his mate. He felt her move instinctively closer to him and Henry reached out to her. Pulling her into his chest, just her scent was enough to calm Henry and his wolf. Soon they were both asleep and happy to have their mate.
