Jessie couldn't understand how the gods or why they would fate her to an Alpha. She thought wolves only mated with other wolves. Then she remembered her best friend was half human half wolf. Because her father was mated to her mother. It was the cutest love story she had ever heard. Looking at her God of a fated Jessie just couldn't believe it. When the other guy spoke her mate nodded.
"Let's take you back to the house with your stuff and then you can come to the pack house. Its safe." He said and Jessie frowned crossing her arms.
"I'm not going anywhere until you tell me who you are." Jessie said with a voice that meant business. A low growl came from behind Jessie but she didn't care. Her focus was on her fated.
"Alpha Henry Copenhagen. Alpha of the After Moon Pack. We are a fairly new pack and we lost some members when the Walkers attacked. the remaining of us locked the Walkers into there buildings and locked them up so they can't escape. This is so we can move freely through the city but a few stragglers always find their was in the streets. there is at least ten in that shop you were about to enter." Jessie was angry. couldn't they put some kind of warning.
"can't you put a warning up! It's not like the monsters can read." It was strange to hear someone call them anything but monsters.
"You call them monsters eh? That's very fitting." He said and Jessie just got confused. "We can then walkers cuz they walk funny." That was so dumb Jessie thought.
"Alpha again can we get out of here." the voice from behind said.
"Yes Beta." He turned to Jessie again and held out his hand. "Please" almost pleading with Jessie. Jessie sighed and took his hand. Henry lifted Jessie up over his shoulder and ran in the direction of her new home. "please pack fast. They tend to like this house for some reason." Jessie sighed and went to gather the rest of her things. Which was only a pillow and blanket. Everything else was in her go bag.
Jessie went outside and nodded to Henry. "Done" Jessie was utterly devastated to have to leave behind something she had fought for herself. There wasn't much fighting but still. Henry took Jessie's hand in his and kissed the back of it.
"You are an utter vision. I smelt you come into town and I just knew." Jessie nodded and wanted to ask questions.
"when did you first smell me." She asked curiously since she would have been eighteen her senior year and her mate/fated able to find her then.
"About.." He had to think because it had been so long ago and only for a short amount of time. "Maybe nine years ago but it was quick and fleeting. Also had a hint of w**d smell but that's fine." Not like Jessie smoked anymore anyway. She used to before this happened but not being able to find or grow any put a damper on things.
"I was on my way to states for a bowling competition and was originally just driving through." Jessie said to him quietly not wanting to upset him. Jessie turned her head away and Henry put his hand on her cheek tilting her face up to look at him.
"I was so sad. you were there and then you were gone. I was devastated and spent a good few years searching for you but no luck. Till you came back and I told the pack to protect you last night." That's why Jessie had heard the howling last night. The wolves were keeping the monsters away.
"While I appreciate that. I can handle myself." Jessie said crossing her arms across her chest.
"That's good. I was hoping for a strong Luna." Henry stated taking Jessie's hand and leading her to his dirt bike. They had muffled them so nobody or nothing could hear them. Henry and his pack kept the bikes close by and had turned them into oil powered. It was easier to find oil and they had an abundance. Jessie was scared to get on the dirt bike and paused before hand. Looking at it made her want to freak out. The monsters were going to hear them no matter what happened. They would be screwed.
"We muffled them." Henry said almost as if reading Jessie's thoughts. "Let's go home?" He asked Jessie and she looked back at the house she spent a day in. It had felt like home for the most part and it had been safe. Yet Henry says the monsters liked this house. Had his pack not kept them away what could have happened last night?
Jessie nodded and took his hand. Henry helped her up onto the back of the bike. Jessie wrapped her arms around his waist and held on tight. His scent of lavender and honey was comforting and Jessie was no longer afraid. Starting the bike up Henry gave his mate a soft gentle touch on her hands before taking off towards his pack.
