His Bodyguard Chapter 1 Kate walked swiftly to the door and knocked calmy Almost immediately, she heard her boss voice from inside "Come in. " She swung the door open and entered the large, beautiful office She sighted her boss sitting on a couch with a woman sitting directly opposite him The woman appeared to be in her mid-forties, her classy dressing shows she how wealthy she is One glance at her and Kate was sure she's not an ordinary woman To Kate, she must be the wife of a rich chairman, this is not the first time she sees classy women like this, they are regulars in their organizations "Sir, you requested for me" she bowed respectfully to the boss "Yes, you finished your training as a bodyguard since last week, and you're 100% qualified to be a full time bodyguard , today you will be assigned to this woman sitting right next to me. "he explained as Kate shifted her gaze to the woman Their gazes met and they both looked at each other for a while "Good day, ma'am " she greeted with respect , acknowledging her presence The woman slightly nodded and moved her hand in a gesture for her to move closer Kate then traced her steps forward slowly " Actually, i'm not the one you will be guarding, I want to hire you for my son here " she revealed and raised up for phone with the full display of the so called son Kate had thought, she will be assigned to guard some rich heiress or to a company She was a little bit surprised it's actually a grown up guy she will be guarding Nevertheless, she maintained her calm posture all the while "Alright Ma'am " she said taking her eyes off the phone " You're really sure she's capable. " the woman shifted her gaze back to the boss " Ma'am, all the guards trained in our organization are capable, we trained them well" he explained camly "And I hope there won't be any sort of affair later on with my son, he have that charm that is nearly impossible for ladies to restrict and I hope it will be different for her, it's slightly business between them and she should know her place " the woman said Kate finds herself a little bit offended by the woman words 'She should know her place' Is she a servant or a slave She's clearly the one requesting for her service here, so she should be polite with her words She have seen a lot of handsome guys in her life, especially the guys in the organization Often, they will have to pull of their shirt doing training which makes their bare chest visible Most of the guys are hot and handsome with their muscles and bulit body, even with that, they do not make her have the slightest temptation So how good can the guy she will be guarding be? Seeing him in the picture, all he is to her is a spoiled young masters of rich family However, she stood there calmly, not uttering a single words She's a trained bodyguard, and have been taught of cases like this so she's not surprised She knows rich women like these are rude and not very polite with words, the look on her face only shows indifference "Rest assured ma'am, our organization have a strict rule which our trained bodyguard must adhere to, they are not allowed to have an affair with their employer and they are well aware of that" the boss asserted firmly "Right, Kate" he shifted his gaze to her "I will only do my job" she said it very firmly and the woman nodded satisfied The lady in front of her appears to be like a tomboy, she's putting on a short and a shirt, and have low haircut Among their set, she will be the first female he will be assigning She's the best among their set, during her training, she proves herself most of the times Even during hard and rigorous training session, she will pull off with the last bit of her strength without complaining She's a strong lady and almost like a man, he have huge faith in her Though they have been cases of bodyguards having an affair with their employer, that happens mostly to the male falling in love with rich heiresses A very strict punishment was given to them, destroying their years of hardwork He's sure she will never repeat such a mistake, she's a lady that give her all to be where she is today Why will she destroy it because of some personal feelings? Apart from that, one look at her cold eyes and he's not sure there is any love in them "Your pays and every other thing have been discussed, you just have to give your all to do your job , don't dissapoint me. " the boss reminded "Yes sir, I will do my best. " She nodded "Okay, go and pack your belongings you will be leaving with her now" he instructed and she left immediately to do as she was told ****** Kate was arranging her clothes neatly inside a box when Nicole, her roommate walked in She scurried up to her, noticing she was busy with something "Hey Kate" she slapped her arm lightly as a sign of greeting "Hi" Kate greeted back and resumed arranging her clothes She observed her for a while and said , "So it's true, you have been assigned to someone already" Kate just nodded "You're so lucky, i'm jealous, so where are you assigned to? " she questioned curiously "I don't know "Kate replied She doesn't really know anything about the guy she will be guarding anyway "I will miss you so much." Nicole lamented "And i hope I will be hired soon too" she sighed Kate was already done packing her luggage, with the box tightly held in her hand She bid her roommate farewell and goes out immediately The woman was outside waiting already She placed the box at the booth of the car, and sat at the front seat of the car with the driver, while, the woman was sitting at the back of the car alone The driver started the car immediately and started driving * * * After being on the road for about an hour, the car finally entered a compound after the security opened the gate, she stares around and she could testify the building is very beautiful, calm and catchy . The driver parked safely , and she got down immediately after the woman , she then proceeded to the booth to carry her box , she could noticed several cars in the carport, all catchy and expensive looking cars She follow behind the woman , keeping at least an 18 inch distance between them They enter the sitting room , which was screaming luxuries Two ladies putting on the same uniform , both standing at the right hand corner , greeted the woman in unison “ Good Afternoon, Ma’am” They must have heard the sound of the car horn , and was aware it’s the Madam , so they had positioned themselves, to greet her immediately she comes in Kate knew they must be workers here handling one or two household jobs “Where is Alex.” The woman asked ,after taking a seat and resting her back on the large chair “ He’s upstairs , he’s not come downstairs today .” One of the lady whose name is Nicole answered. “ Alright, go call him for me .” She said and Nicole left in a jiffy to carry out the task , she came back after some few minutes “ He said he would be here soon .” “ Okay you guys can leave , and do your work if you have anything to do .” She ordered , and they left respectfully After a while , sounds of footsteps ,walking down the stairs could be heard , and he could be seen after walking into the living room “ My Son, How have you been ..?” The woman smilingly stood up to hug him , before he could walk up to her “ Why are you looking so dull..? Your hair is also messy …” His mum uttered touching his hair “Stop touching my hair mum , I’m not a kid .” He said , disengaging his mum hand from touching his hair further “ I’ve been sleeping when you sent Nicole to me , that explains the messy hair and dull eyes .” He added , walking and moving close to a chair , afterwards rest his buttocks on the soft chair “ I guessed you stay up all night again .” She said , taking a seat beside him “ Oh ..You have been standing all the while , you can take your seat now .” She uttered, facing Kate and she calmly sat down , her box sitting close to her That’s when Alex noticed there’s a lady in the living room ,also a stranger as he had never seen her before Kate also glance at him , and she can’t deny he’s a good looking guy The picture his mum had shown her did no justice to his handsomeness , not many people are photogenic anyway His gorgeous black eyes will make you want to look at him over and over again His pointed nose , giving him the perfect visual and his pouted pink lips makes him more attractive His smooth skin was looking very radiant , and his messy hair was not disadvantageous to him at all , instead gave him the look of an handsome playboy ‘Yeah he’s handsome ‘Kate admitted , but still this is not enough to move her She thinks there are more good looking guys in her organization, built and more manly with almost perfect facial features “Well Alex , I employed this lady right here and I will be appointing her to you .” His mum spilled and he shows an indifference expression “ Hmm yeah .” He replied looking quiet uninterested. He had thought she’s employed her as a maid to help in taking care of the house , or might even be a cook , because he’s complained to her earlier , as he doesn’t enjoy ,Mercy his cook food,if it’s not salty , it would be almost burnt . “Alex , this lady is a bodyguard I will be appointing to you , she’s a trained , and qualified bodyguard of Vincent organization, and I can be rest assured she will keep you safe in case of emergencies.” She explained in details , and his dull indifference eyes migrated to that of confusion , with a mixture of annoyance “ I don’t understand, is this a joke or what ..?” “It’s not , she is really your bodyguard.” She confirmed. “ What the hell are you saying mum , I don’t remember telling you to hire a bodyguard for me , I don’t f*****g understand what’s going on , this better be a joke .” He uttered in annoyance , and that’s when he gave the lady a look He’s not care to look at her since she’s no one important to him but now that his mum’s telling him this joke , he couldn’t help but look at her He scoff in annoyance as he couldn’t imagine this weak looking girl could , protect and safeguard him , what an insult to his ego In fact , he should be the one to safeguard her , he couldn’t imagine , an emergency occurring and he had to hide behind a girl Then he would be a joke , what the hell is his mum thinking ….? “ Alex , you have to understand mum is doing this for you okay , it’s just for a while okay , I will withdraw her after a while but for now I need you to cooperates baby …” She said in soft tone “Stop mum , just stop please , I think it’s high time you stop treating me like a baby , you control every aspect of my daily lives , and will not let me do my things myself , i told you my desire of living on my own , I moved out and you still the one that employs all my employees working with me here, furnished the whole house , you’re still controlling the company dad left ,even after i attain the age I should be the one in control but I let you do your thing , I didn’t complain , and now you’re telling me you hired a bodyguard for me when I never begged you to ….” He uttered in a frustrated tone . “ I said it’s just for a while and it’s all for your good because … “ When have you ever done anything for my good if not for your selfish reasons , when have you ever care to consult my opinion , you just do things your way like a dictator and I’m tired of you dictating my life .” “ You’re going to shut up your mouth and do as I say , everything I’ve been doing it’s all for your good , and I’m working to make life easier for you , you’ve never appreciates me but sooner or later you will know it’s all for your good .” Her loving eyes changed to that of annoyance and her posture was full of dominance Kate was surprised she could change from the calm , loving woman to this in a jiffy “ I don’t want to hear it’s for my good , let’s say it’s fine you appointed a bodyguard for me , all you could think of is a fragile looking girl that I’m sure I can lift with one hand , am I that weak to you , you could have at least chose a muscular tall guy .” “ Okay fine , I can return her if you want , and appoint a man that you want .” She beamed. His expression changed as he doesn’t know if that’s a good idea He doesn’t want bodyguard in the first place, be it male or female , he doesn’t want anyone following him around , disturbing his peace , a guy will be more domineering and might not easily listen to him , but a girl will be easy to tame , control and also not hard to get rid of He could even offer her money and made her one of the house servant without his mum knowledge , he doesn’t want any bodyguard, he’s just annoyed his mother appointed one without consulting him , and even a female He would be a laughingstock to his friends if they were to find out He is sure she wanted to plant her as a spy to his side so she can give her all the details of his life He can’t believe this woman still want to control every aspect of his life “ It’s okay mum , you don’t need to replace her ..” He finally said after thinking it thoroughly “ Really .” She asked and he nodded, the annoyance was still visible on his face …” That’s my son , I always know you don’t like to make trouble with mummy , you know mummy loves you .” She smiled , and he didn’t respond She doesn’t mind knowing he’s still angry but she knew he will adjust as times goes on “ I’m leaving now , as I have a meeting in the next one hour , don’t worry I won’t come here for a while , you can do what you want .” She said and stood up “ And yes , I never asked for your name .” She said , facing Kate “ My name is Kate .” She replied “ Alright Kate , I’m counting on you.” She then turn to face Alex “ You can give her a room of your choice .” She said , and disappeared in a trance .
