Samuels POV
It was already four in the afternoon by the time we got home, After showering and changing I went down to the third floor of the pack house, which housed the Beta and Gamma families and turned in my notes to Gamma Jones so he could go over them. We were all expected to be in my fathers office by six o'clock for a debriefing, so that gave me two hours to find out everything I could about human mates, if Chloe really is one. I decided It would be best to check out the pack library first, so I stopped by Chris's room and told him I needed his help with something.
"Where are we going?" Chris asks.
"To the library, I have to do some research." I tell him.
"What? First school and now the library! My brains fried man." Chris whines as we head down to the first floor of the Packhouse.
"Come on can't we do something fun, I heard some of the warriors are going out to get drinks." He continues.
Once we get to the library I quickly pull him threw the doors and lock them behind us. I start to walk around the aisles making sure we are alone before sitting down and motioning for him to sit to. I had decided it would be best to just tell him what's going on so he will stop his whining,
"I found my mate." I tell him in a low voice.
"SERIOUSLY! CONGR-" He shouts before I cover his mouth with my hand to get him to be quiet.
"Who is she?" He whispers.
"Her name is Chloe Donovan," I tell him. "I think she might be human."
"What do you mean might be?" He reply's giving me a questioning look.
"She doesn't seem to have a wolf, but she doesn't smell human either." I say leaning back in my chair and letting out a deep sigh.
"So we need to see if there's any record of something like this happening before?" He asks, I give him a nod.
"Also look into an Alpha Alexander Donovan." I tell him.
"You think they could be related?" He says. I shrug my shoulders.
"Gamma Jones seems to think so and I want to know why." I say.
We spent the next hour searching threw several books, and the only thing we learned was that humans just like werewolves don't feel the mate bond until their 18th birthdays. Which would explain why Chloe didn't seem that drawn to me. There was also nothing on Alpha Donovan I think those records may be in the Alpha's office. We put away all of our books for the day and head upstairs for our debriefing.
We walk into my fathers office and sit on the chairs in front of the desk as we wait on the Alpha to enter. We look at the time realizing we have a few minutes to spare.
We need to see why the Gamma was asking about Alpha Donovan, I tell my wolf.
I hope mate is a werewolf! Then we can change her! He says as he runs circles in my head.
He seems happy with the possibility and has started to lighten up about the situation. If she does end up having werewolf blood we may be able to use our Alpha wolf venom to turn her, its pretty rare for two werewolves to give birth to a human child but it isn't unheard of and with werewolf blood it makes it possible to turn them.
My father walks into the office at exactly six and sits down at his desk, followed by Beta Hobbs and Gamma jones who stand next to him.
"I've been going over your notes from today and they seem adequate, but I would like to speak with you both and see if there is anything you did not include." My father says to us.
"We found nothing out of the ordinary with any of the students or staff." I tell him.
"Very disappointing, anything from you Gamma Jones?" My father inquires.
Gamma Jones gives my father a smirk, his eyes darting towards me. My father raises an eye brow, before both of their eyes glaze over, they seem to be having a conversation over mind link, before my father turns back to us a smile plastered on his face, Something I rarely see. My father gives Beta Hobbs a look letting him know that he and Chris are dismissed.
"So, did you not find it necessary to alert us of your new found mate?" My father scolds me.
"How?" I look over at the Gamma.
"I spotted you in the hallway, the look in your eyes gave it away." He chuckles.
I grunt and lean over putting my face in my hands, before standing up and pacing in front of my chair. My mother bursts into the room looking out of breath as if she ran all the way here, I look over at my dad and he lets out a small chuckle.
"YOU HAVE A MATE!" my mom squeals.
Great now everyone knows, no wonder my father seems so happy, Mates are a big deal to him and my mom. Having your True mate by your side makes you a stronger alpha. Which is how my father was able to grow our pack into one of the strongest packs on the west coast.
"Yes, I found my mate." I say, letting out a sigh.
"and why is our future Luna not here?" My mother questions me.
"She isn't of age yet and doesn't feel the pull." I tell her.
"and?" she asks.
"and, what?" I reply.
"When do we get to meet her? Which pack does she belong to? What is her name for starters!" My mother says clearly intrigued.
"Her name is Chloe Donovan and she doesn't have a pack. I'm not even sure if she's human or a wolf." I start to say, my mothers face going from joy to shock as she looks at my father who's eyes are wide.
"Sir, I had been curious about her." Gamma Jones buts in. "She seems to fit the right age. The only issue is she seems to be wolf less." He adds.
"We will need to keep this between us. Gamma Jones I need you to do some digging." My father says in a serious tone.
"My daughter seems to be her friend I will get in contact with her and see what she knows." Gamma Jones says giving my father a nod before leaving the room.
"Does anyone care to tell me what the hell is going on!" I shout, causing the room to go silent. I look over at my mom her eyes are now full of tears as my father motions for me to sit in front of him, I do as I'm told.
"15 years ago, werewolves were at war with witches. They were strong but outnumbered, we finally had gotten the upper hand, until the Bloodmoon pack was attacked, Every man, woman and child was slaughtered." My father says in a somber tone.
"How was there entire pack killed, weren't they the strongest pack on the east coast?" I ask still wondering what this all has to do with my mate.
"No one knows for sure, but there were rumors that the Alpha's two year old daughter was never found." My father says looking at my mother.
"We all just assumed they succeeded" My mother says looking at me, before heading to a filing cabinet next to my fathers desk.
"Okay so what am I missing here?" I ask. Not really knowing what to say.
"Son, the Alpha's daughter that was kidnapped was named Chloe" My father says.
"and she would only be seventeen years old." My mother says as she pulls out a folder from the cabinet, its labeled Bloodmoon Pack. She grabs a photo out of it and hands it to me. A picture of the Alpha and Luna of the Blood moon pack, the Alpha has his arm around his wife and they are both smiling as they look down watching a little girl play in the grass, barely even two years old. Her red hair is tied into little pig tails, and she smiles as she looks up at the camera with the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen.
It was her.
It was my Chloe.
