Trinity's POV
I didn't want to call him.
But Chloe hasn't woken up, and I'm scared.
When she first passed out, I thought she had just fainted out of shock. But then I noticed she wasn't getting up. I tried everything I could think of to wake her. I moved her to her room, hoping she'd wake up soon. But hours passed and she started getting really hot, and she still hadn't moved.
I had started dialing 911, until I remembered the truth about Chloe's birth and hung up.
No human doctor could help her.
It would have to be a werewolf doctor, a pack doctor. But the only pack I knew was my father's, Shadow Moon.
I stare at the phone in my hand as tears roll down my cheek. I had his number, he had given it to me yesterday when he pulled me aside after class. I told him I didn't want it, but he promised some day I would need it. I told him I didn't need him, and stormed out.
But the truth was, I did need him, he was just never there.
He had his new family, his new kids, his true mate. He didn't need me or my mom, we were just barriers in the way of his perfect family. He didn't love me, and anytime I would bring him up, my mother made sure to let me know that. My mother was his chosen mate, his high school sweetheart. Both of them were disappointed when they weren't each other's true mates, and years later, when they still hadn't found their mates, they had me. I don't know what really happened the night my mother packed us up and she left my dad. All I know is the bits and pieces my mom would let slip during her drunken rage years later.
I let out a little hiccup in between my sobs. Chloe's the only family I have. I need to help her.
I stood up, and walked to Chloe's bedroom window. Before taking a deep breath and dialing my father's number.
*Ring*
*Ring*
"Hello?" A younger guy answers.
I looked at the number on the phone, wondering if he had given me the wrong number.
"Hello?"He says a little louder, getting irritated.
"Sorry... Is Grayson Jones there?"I choked out, as more tears started to form.
"Yeah. He is. Who's calling?" He asks, a lot friendlier than before. I'm sure he can hear me crying on the other end, but he doesn't say anything about it.
"Umm... can you tell him it's Trinity?' I asked.
I hear a lot of shuffling and talking, until he says my name. Then it goes quiet, before someone else picks up the phone.
"Trinity?" My dad says.
"Hi...." I said with a sob.
"What's wrong?" He asked, his voice full of concern.
I gave him a quick explanation. He listens intently, before asking questions about her condition.
"Im heading over there right now, I've sent Jeremy to let the pack hospital know, and to alert the Alpha of the situation", He says, before realizing I don't know who that is. " He's your brother, he was the one who answered the phone."He adds quickly.
"Okay," I tell him, feeling more at ease, knowing help is on the way.
He hangs up the phone, and I go to sit next to Chloe.
"The things I do for you C, you owe me big time" I said with a little laugh.
I pack up some of her clothes and toiletries, before making my way downstairs. I make sure to grab the birth announcement, putting it in her purse just in case. By the time I finished, I could hear a car pulling up and then a knock on the front door.
I hesitated for a second before I opened the door, coming face to face with my father and a woman. I let them in and we all stand around awkwardly.
"I'm Trinity"I said, with an awkward wave.
"Oh I know Dear, I'm Marlene, your father's mate." She says with a smile.
I gave him a glance, wondering why he would bring the Step Mate to a situation like this.
"I'm a nurse dear", She adds, as if she read my mind.
"Well, she's upstairs in the room on the left." I told her with a lot more attitude then I meant to before leading them both upstairs.
Once we were upstairs, Marlene started to check on Chloe, going over every visible inch before stopping at her hand.
"When did she get this cut?" She asked with a frown.
I let out a frustrated groan. I had completely forgotten she had cut her hand when I showed her my wolf.
"Yesterday afternoon, she fell on a rock." I said slowly,
Marlene gives me a questioning look and then slowly nods.
"Her wound seems to have healed at a faster rate than a normal human," Marlene says, her hand on her chin as if in deep thought.
"Well, that's good, right? It means she has a wolf!" I said with a smile.
Marlene gave me a sad look, " I'm not a doctor Dear, but I can tell you with 100% certainty that Chloe does not have a wolf."
My smile fades slightly. I'll always be Chloe's friend, whether she's a human, a werewolf, hell I'd even be friends with her if she was a witch like grandma Lyla.
But she was born to be a werewolf. My heart breaks for her that such an important piece of her life, she will never get to experience.
"How did she heal so fast then?" I asked Marlene.
" I'm not sure, but she seems to have an infection that was sped up along with the healing." She tells me.
"Is that why she's-" I started to say before she gave me a nod.
"Grayson, Can you load Chloe into the car please? We will have to take her back to the pack hospital for further treatment." Marlene said.
We start loading everything up, and before I know, I'm in the back seat of my father's car with Chloe's head on my lap.
I lean my head against the window and close my eyes, before I finally let myself sleep.
In about 20 minutes, we would be pulling up to the pack, where Chloe and my new lives would begin.
