It's been two days since Ryan tried to attack me in Alec's bedroom. Honestly I was glad that Alec came when he did, I didn't know if I could stop him. I was quick but he was a lot quicker than me, I took a deep breath as I looked over to see Alec's side was empty once again.
He's been going to the jail ever since the incident to try and get Ryan to talk about why he wanted to attack me, he barley knew me or what I was. The shock in his eyes when my hands began heating up.
Sighing, I pushed the sheets off my body and stood up. Heading over to his dresser grabbing out one of the shirts he had brought me yesterday and a pair of jeans. I heard the door open, looking over I saw Alec stepping inside.
"You're awake, did you sleep well?" Alec asked as he crossed over towards me.
"I slept okay, still missing home but I'll be fine soon," I replied, it was hard for me, not to be near my father or my old pack.
Alec smiled softly at me, before tucking a strand of hair behind my ear, "It'll be okay, remember you can go back to visit whenever you want. Just have to take a few pack members with you."
I smiled warmly, I was lucky that Alec was do gentle towards me. I've heard stories of other Alphas being mean to their lunas, I hope it doesn't turn out that way.
"How do you feel of going for a run, in our wolf form. I know a place you might like?" Alec asked.
"Oh that would be lovely, I haven't got to ser much of your land." I couldn't help but smile once again.
Alec was nothing what I was told by others, I was always told by people that the alpha from Moon Valley was mean and ruthless. I haven't seen that side and I'm sure he has his reasons when he became those. From what he has shown me, he's protected me this far.
I could hear the bones cracking in Alec's skin as he shifted into his wolf form which was a grey pelt with marking along it. Each marking symbolised something else, I knew that most Alphas had markings each were different, it was also a way to tell the difference between an Alpha and the rest of the pack.
Alec's black eyes periced into my soul as he awaited for me to morph, as soon as I did, Alec walked closer snuggling his nose with mine.
Our wolves synchronised together, our thoughts becoming one.
"Let's get going," Lycurgus spoke.
Following behind Lycurgus, his paws marked the ground as he ran forward, his paw prints were bigger than my wolf Xanthe. The sound of the birds chirping away caused my heart to melt, the forest was modest, light, and thriving. Its canopy was contested by redwood, cedar, and crab apple, and rays of light bursting through their crowns allowed for dispersed plants to monopolize the nut and seed covered grounds below.
Swooping creepers held onto most trees, and an array of flowers, which claimed quiet corners, contrasted against the otherwise uniform landscape. A clamor of sounds, predominantly those of birds and vermin, echoed in the air, and were out of sync with the croaks of frogs in the nearby ponds.
Lycurgus was miles ahead, while my wolf Xanthe was a little behind as she stopped a few times to smell the ground, making sure to know where to go in case of an emergency, with hunters scouting the forest and woods, who knows the dangers we could all be in.
Once Xanthe had caught up with Lycurgus, I heard the sound of running water, looking to my right I noticed a giant waterfall was in front of me, the water was glistening with bits of silver and gold shining through, the beautiful green grass helped it shine a lot brighter.
The sound relaxed me a little, not to mention the splashing from the fishes that swam in the water.
"Do you like it?" Lycurgus seemed nervous.
"I love it, Lycurgus. It's beautiful, I can see why you love this spot. I can see myself coming here," Xanthe replied.
Honestly it was a beautiful place, I've never seen anything like it before. Even at my old pack, there wasn't anything this beautiful. I heard the sound of bones crunching again, turning to see Alec morphing back to his human self. I did the same not shortly afterwards.
"I'm glad you like it, I was a little worried," Alec responded.
"Like Xanthe said it's beautiful. It honestly feels peaceful, I could drift off to sleep here," I replied as I snuggled into Alec's warmth.
The two of us said nothing as we held each other while looking at the water and listening to the sound of it and the nearby animal life.
"My whole life I dreamt of this moment taking someone here and sharing to them my favourite place. It may not seem much to most but to me, it's what's within that's so beautiful. Many don't venture far into the forest with these hunters, even before that. Everyone grew scared as it darkens towards the end but once you pass all that, here lies this," Alec spoke after a while.
I couldn't help but blush knowing he had shared his spot with me, even though I'm his mate. It doesn't mean he had to do this, each time Alec opens up to me, I see a whole different side of him.
"Thank you for sharing this spot with me, not many realise the beauty in most things," I replied.
Alec gently brought me over to a spot where we sat under an oak tree, his left tattooed arm gently rested on my chest as my back was against his.
"We should do a picnic here one time. We've just met and I would love to get to know you more Alec, more about your family, this pack and your wolf," I spoke clearing up the silence, although I didn't mind it.
"As I want to get to know you more," Alec replied.
