Chapter 10

Harper's POV Though it was funny to admit, but I had never seen something as huge as this building. Even the mansion couldn't measure with it. "Let's go in and get what you need so we can leave on time. I have other tasks to finish before the end of the day," He said and we followed him in. He took us to the clothing department and I stared that the beautifully designed dresses that were hung on the rack in awe. I saw a blue sleeveless dress and snatched it telling my mother that I wanted to try it on. "This is beautiful, Mother. I'm taking it," I said and went into the changing room to try it on. I came out and stared at the mirror looking at how beautiful I looked. "Jeez, Harper is that you?" My mother stared at me, her mouth agape. "I look hot, right?" I asked with a grin. "You look awesomely dashing, you need to get more of these wears," She said and I nodded. I took different clothes ranging from dresses to jeans and blouses. I also took some hoodies that I had always admired on my classmates whenever they wore it to class. I helped my mother select classy clothes both for outings and casuals and since we were going on a trip soon, I helped to pick some sexy lingerie. "I can't remember the last time I wore this," She said, tugging at the red G-string pant that I had chosen for her. "Now you have reasons to wear it," I said and winked at her "So you have to take it with you," I told her. "You this naughty child," She said and pulled my ears playfully. We were done shopping for clothes so we went to the bags section and I picked few bags since I wasn't sure I would go on outings frequently. I was an introvert that was why I wasn't bothered when I was asked never to leave the house. Everything we bought were being calculated so I looked around, searching for the convenience room when I saw one of the girls that used to bully me in school. At first, I was filled with trepidation then I remembered that I was no longer a maid but the daughter of the Alpha and no one dared mistreat the member of the royal family. "Harper?" She called in surprise and I turned back and fixed a what-do-you-want look on her. "You look different," She admitted and I smirked. "I know, you don't have to remind me," I said and was about walking away when I heard her call me proud. "Huh?" I asked. "Oh! you heard me?" She asked, scratching her hair nervously. "Of course, I have ears and they aren't for fancy," I retorted. "Why did you call me proud?" I asked and folded my arms. Then she smirked and moved a bit closer to me so that our eyes were at the same eye level. "Just because you found your way to the Alpha's family doesn't mean you have to act all proud, it was sheer luck." She said. "I don't know why you are bothered about my present status, but I won't allow you spoil my good mood with your meaningless words," I replied her, wondering where the confidence to respond to her came from. She kept glaring at me, lacking words to say. I remembered the days where I did according to her bidding and how she used to beat me up with her girls when I made mistakes. I felt like doing the same to her but I controlled my anger, reminded of the fact that we were no longer in the same level. "Have a nice day," I said and walked away, forgetting the reason I came there. "Why did you take so long?" Mother asked when I got into the car and this time I was grateful for the cozy atmosphere because the weather had become hot. "Had a little chit-chat with someone I knew," I briefed her with a smirk and she knew immediately that it wasn't just an ordinary meeting. "Can we go now?" Gillian asked and we told him that we were ready then he drove off. We stopped by a restaurant and he went to get some food for us since it was already afternoon. My stomach grumbled and I wondered what happened to the large amount of breakfast I had. The scent of fries and tomato sauce filled the air as he got back into the car. I was literally salivating and almost dragged the paper bag from him. "This smells so good," I confessed. "Yea.. They make the best fries around, and it tastes better when you eat it with the sauce," He suggested and stared at him in surprise. "Why are you staring at me like that?"He asked while I opened the paper bag and brought out the plastic plate that contained the fries. "Because I'm surprised that you eat these kind of food, though I don't see you with one right now." I said digging into my the apply juice I asked for. "Fries are my favorite but I'm not hungry so I'll eat later, besides I'm driving." He said and focused on the road. Mother was silent throughout the ride and I wondered if it was because of the trip we were to go on in two days time. I sensed how anxious she was and I could tell that it was because she hadn't been with a man for a long time. I didn't know whether to ask her about it. For the first time, in a long while, I contemplated on having a conversation with her. We got back to the pack house in no time and we thanked him for being of a great help to us, though it was a part of his task and he smiled and told us that he was ready to help us anytime. I trutted to my room with several white polythene bags in my hands. They were heavy but I didn't mind carrying them even when the maids offered to help me out. I dropped the bags on the floor and began to spread the content of each bags on the bed which made the room untidy. I felt so happy to own such expensive accessories and made a mental note to thank the Alpha later. I was arranging them into the wardrobe when the door flew ajar and the triplets let themselves in. "What in God's name are you doing in my room?" I yelled at the trio who stared at me like I was blabbing. "Don't you have mouths? What if I was taking off my clothes?" I asked, glaring at them. "Then you would have locked the door, Stupid," Damon said to rile me up and shut my eyes tightly wishing that I could make them all disappear. "And next time, don't reject the servant's offer to carry whatever load it is you are with. That's their duty," Atlas said calmly and sat on the couch. "I'm sure she doesn't know that she's supposed to give it to them, she still acts like a maid," Damon said and let out a loud chuckle which irritated me. I didn't bother asking them how they knew, because I was sure that they knew when I arrived and watched me come all the way up. "That's it! what are you doing in my room?" I asked. "You better talk fast or I'll tell the Alpha that you're bullying me and you know what he can do to you," I threatened and watched their faces turn red. I got them on this one. "You don't need to do that, our visit here will be brief. We just want you to know some few things," Adonis said lazily and I wondered who forced him to come with them because he obviously didn't want to be here. "It's about the trip that father said we are embarking on. There are some rules that we strictly want you to adhere to, or we would make you leave the island, on your own," Atlas said in a cool tone but I could tell that he was very serious. I was scared within me because anytime the trio visited me or talked to me, it never ended well. But I didn't let them see how vulnerable they were making me to be. "What stupid rules are you talking about?" I asked and folded my arms. "It's not bulky, just few that your pea sized brain can comprehend," Damon taunted. "First rule, don't come near us while we are on the trip, just stay on your own. Secondly, we don't want to see you near the Alpha. You have to stop acting like he's really your father." Atlas said making me dislike him the more. He wanted to say more rules that didn't make any sense to me so raised my hands to silence him. "You don't have to come here and make a fool of yourselves. I don't need your rules because they are as stupid as you all, now leave my room," I ordered, pointing towards the door.
