ARIELLE'S POV
Love! I could feel it all over me, leaving thrills of goosebumps through me. I laid on the bed with my eyes to the ceiling, hesitant to rise from it. The memories of the previous night left me euphoric and thrilled. If anyone had told me that the most Handsome and popular boy in the school would be mine, then I wouldn't have believed one bit. Happiness bloomed in me and I felt myself imagining the wonderful memories we would make together. It was euphoric and left me dangling with joy.
"Arielle! Arielle," my father called from the sitting room where he was. I rolled my eyes with Indifference as a deep sigh escaped through my lips. He definitely was preparing for work already.
"Arielle," he called again, leaving me no choice but to answer him.
"I'm coming dad," I said in a loud and firm Voice as I rose to my feet. He had his ass glued to the chair with his eyes fixed on the phone. He raised his head to me and immediately, a smile etched on his face..
"How is my Beautiful daughter doing this morning?" He asked, his voice melting every corner of my heart. The sight of him alone gave me joy.
"I'm doing great, dad. When did you get back?" I asked, sitting next to him with my hands clasped round his neck. He grinned at me, pulling my Cheeks.
"I got home late last night. I should have left already but I thought to see you before I leave. Are you ready for school already?"
"Not yet dad but I should be ready in quarter an hour," I replied at once and dashed off to the bathroom, giggling as I went. The feeling of having my father beside me even for a short while was immeasurable. The hugs, the play, the affection. I missed them all.
I was also excited to see Derek again. I wanted to talk to him and tell him just how much I love him.
Five minutes and I was out of the bath. It was weird because my bath would have lasted no less than half an hour but then I didn't want my father going off before me hence the rush.
By the time I was done, I could bet I looked quite stunning and Beautiful. I smiled at my father who wouldn't stop admiring me like I was his version of Snow white.
"Can we leave now, dad? You'll run late for work," I voiced out when I became uncomfortable by his stare.
"Sure. I'm just in awe. You grew up right under my eyes but I couldn't be a part of you growing up." His face turned sour and the smile that brightened him vanished into thin air.
"You don't have to beat yourself dad. It's not your fault and I do understand. I really do. But be rest assured that things are going to turn out fine. Trust me." My voice was soothing and assuring, leaving me with a strong aura of peace.
"Are you sure about that? It's been years and things still haven't grown better," he looked gloomy as sorrows etched deeper and deeper into him
"Trust me. We are going to smile very soon. That, I can assure you of." I locked him in a tight embrace, patting him against his back. We were out of the house within a jiffy and were walking towards the small car he called his own .
The car was an old one and had been in use for over ten years. How it managed to remain Standing remained a mystery to me. The sound of the engine as it went on the tiled road made a weird type of music to my ear. My mind drifted to Derek and I didn't realize when my face broke into a smile.
"What happened? Why do you look so happy?" Father said to me, looking from the corner of his eyes.
"Huh? What do you mean?" I asked with a creased brow, wondering what was running through his mind.
"You look quite excited. Is there anything making you excited?"
"Why do you ask dad? Can't I be excited naturally?" My voice was still and calm, calmer than it had ever been In a while.
"Of course, you can. I just have this feeling that it is attached to someone or have you found someone?" He winked at me, causing me to blush. How i would bring myself to inform my father of my newly found feeling.
"Nah. You're wrong about that. It's nothing. I just feel happy. You've got nothing to worry about."
Soon, we arrived at the school after which he drove off to work. I took a deep breath with my hands clasped to my side, ready to head to class. My heart raced heavily against my chest as I thought of Derek and couldn't help but smile. I was still lost in my thoughts when I felt a hand around my shoulder. It was warm and gave me goosebumps.
"Derek?" I called in a low whispering voice, blushing like I was some newly wedded bride.
"And how did you know it was me?" His voice was cool and reassuring as he took his hands off my face.
"Your hand. I'd recognise the smell and feel of it anytime and anywhere."
"Oh..you're right about that. My hand gives me away all the time," he rolled his eyes with Indifference, flinging his hands in the air. We burst into a long round of laughter as we walked towards the building where our classroom was.
Just as we were entering the class, Derek's friend came to wheel him off, claiming I was pulling their best friend away from them. We laughed about it and with Hesitation, Derek left with them. I grinned, a satisfied grin as I walked towards my desk just a few inches away and was about to take my seat when a group of girls walked up to me. They looked fierce and dangerous. I shivered.
