DEREK'S POV
As I arrived School that morning, excitement raced through me like a mighty rushing wind. I smiled to myself like I was the most happiest man in the entire world. I couldn't wait to see Arielle. Every part of me wanted to know how she was faring and wanted to lock her in a tight embrace.
"She must be missing me already," I thought to myself, kicking Peebles as I went. I raised my eyes and instantly it fell on Arielle who was alighting from an old car just behind me. A smile lit my face and I decided to wait for her. Various thoughts raced through my mind as I waited for her and I could feel my heart thumping heavily against my chest like it was going to explode anytime soon.
"Is she going to like it?" I wondered within myself and soon became downcast but then I remembered that Arielle wasn't a lady to reject things or so I thought. A few seconds later, I saw her looking at me with a bright smile adorning the corners of her lips. It was infectious and I couldn't help but smile as well.
"Good morning my beautiful damsel. How was your night?" My voice was cool and reassuring as I wrapped my hands around her. She raised her head to me as she wasn't up to my height.
"It was fine… you know, I couldn't really sleep due to excitement. I wanted to see you so badly."
"Wow! I thought I was the only one who experienced that? Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" I laughed, my face twisted into an evil smirk.
"Yesss… maybe because we like each other so Much or what do you think?" She looked a bit confused and was awaiting words from me.
I wrapped my hands around her shoulder, getting Patting it. "You're right about that. You're the most beautiful and nice lady I've ever come across."
She scoffed, rolling her eyes with disbelief and I realized what was going on, she burst into a long round of laughter.
I frowned.
I wasn't so cool with her laugh and that frown helped show my disapproval. "Did I say anything funny or is there anything on my face?" I wondered aloud as we continued along the tarred road that led to the main building of the school.
"Of course not. You didn't say anything. I just found out Funny how you called me the most beautiful lady especially with the number of ladies that flock around you like bees round a hive."
"Wait, don't tell me you're jealous?" I laughed and this time, I laughed so hard. She Pouted her lips awkwardly with her hands clasped together.
"Jealous? I'm not jealous. I'm only protesting against you pulling my legs. I know you've met a lot of other women and they are much prettier than I can ever be."
Her words left me speechless for almost a minute. I turned towards her, placing my hands on her cheek. "You shouldn't and never think this way. You are beautiful and that's the truth. Nobody should make you feel less of yourself, are we clear?" She nodded her head, a smile etching onto her face. Our hands clasped and together we went towards the building where our class was located.
***
We were shocked by the number of people that had arrived when we got in. I stole a glance at my wristwatch to be sure I wasn't the one who was wrong about the time. It was only a few minutes past seven and over half of the class was around already. I couldn't hide my surprise and neither could i understand how it came to happen. I was about to speak to Arielle about it when my friends approached us.
A sinister look was plastered right on their faces and I could guess what it was they wanted to say. I frowned at them from the corner of my eyes while pulling Arielle into me.
"What's up with you, Derek? You've here so early. Is anything happening that we aren't aware of?" One of them asked, winking at Arielle and I. She blushed, fiddling with her fingers like they were some toy.
"I was going to ask you guys the same thing because it's weird. Not my friends who are notorious latecomers arriving way before the start of class. Are you guys planning something that I'm not aware of?" I inquired, moving my gaze between the five of them.
"Nothing. Nothing and yes, we don't come late all the time. Anyways, are you busy?"
My brows furrowed. "It depends on why you're asking."
"We'll like you to help us out with something."
"And what would that be?"
"You Come with us First. You don't have to ask so many questions. You've got nothing to worry about."
"But I have to be with…" Before I could utter another word, they pulled me with them and off we went to an unknown location.
I was confused and protested against their action but they didn't yield. We got to an empty classroom before they finally let go of me.
"What's going on with you all? Why did you pull me here?" I snapped, my hands clenched into fists. Listening carefully, you would hear the thumping of my heart against my chest.
"What do you think you are doing guys?" My voice was firm and filled with anger.
"We should be asking you that question. What do you think you're doing with that lady? Are you going nuts?"
"Huh? Nuts in which form? You all aren't quite clear."
"Arielle. Are you with her? How can a whole Derek, the sensation of the school be found with someone like her? Even speaking to her alone is quite disgusting."
"You guys must be crazy. No, you guys are crazy and I don't give a f**k what you or others think. I love Arielle and I'll do exactly what I want with her, got it?"
"Bro.. I thought you've got taste. Turned out I'm wrong," another said and before I realized what was going on, I grabbed him and pinned him to the wall, fuming uncontrollably.
