Chapter 14Ken left before dawn, sliding out from under Yuuki’s arms and exiting the house without waking anyone. After feeding and brushing Golden Eagle, she led the mare out through the back gate. She climbed into the saddle and sat down stiffly. With a slap to the hindquarters, her horse took off at a record pace.
It took only a couple of hours to reach the location. She’d pushed the animal to top speed nearly the entire way. Only when it was dangerous terrain did she let up.
