Chapter Nineteen

Odessas POV

Shifting hurt like a b***h let me tell you. The first few times I had to do it was awful. My bones dislocating and breaking in certain places dear lord. Now it was a little bit easier though. Theo and Edward both took turns training me, for what I didn't know though. I was still confined to the hospital like room in the basement because they couldn't trust me.

Josh brought me down my dinner before going back up stairs. Looks like we're eating alone again I remarked to my wolf. Good, less temptation to shift and tear them to pieces Pixie shot back. I smirked at that, she definitely was a feisty one. I heard the door unlock and Theo came down a few seconds later. "Hey kiddo" He said pulling up a chair. "Hey" I said with a smile. We hadn't really talked much about me getting out of here since that first night.

So how much longer will I be stuck here? I linked to him. We couldn't risk anyone else hearing our plans. Soon I promise. I've almost got the route done. I should get the last bit of it tonight on my run Theo explained. I sighed feeling how anxious Pixie was to meet Sampson and Artemis. Are you going to come with me? I asked. Yeah Theo said and I smiled, at least I would have a friend with me.

We finished our meals and played some card games to pass the time until he had to leave. Theo stood up getting ready to leave for his nightly run when Edward came down the stairs. "Pack your bag" He said when he reached us. Theo looked at him confused "What's going on?" He asked him. Edward just looked at me as he spoke "We're going to pay a little visit to Mason" He said. "Are you f*****g kidding me?!" I growled out as Pixie pushed forward.

"It's not what you think" Edward said with a glare at my attitude. "I told you he would pay for what he did to you" He continued. "You may not be my blood but you're still my daughter" He added. I didn't know what to feel. I hated him because of all the lies and the fact that he kidnapped me. However a small part still loved him, after all he raised me and always took care of me. Edward turned around and walked back upstairs leaving me with Theo.

I walked over to a the duffel bag that had been brought down and packed a couple outfits. Is this going to affect your run? I asked Theo. Yeah it really does. It might be a couple more days now He responded. I gave a sad nod of my head and finished my packing. "I'm going to go pack a bag as well" He said before leaving as well. Once everyone was packed Josh came to get me. I looked around as we went upstairs and noticed cabinet doors were open showing they were bare.

"Are we not coming back?" I asked Josh. He turned to look over his shoulder at me with a smirk. "If things go well no we won't" He said. "What's that supposed to mean?" I asked him getting nervous. If we were going to be leaving then that would mean I couldn't escape. "You'll see" He said as we reached the car. Theo was putting our bags in the trunk while Angela and Edward were getting in the front seats.

Once Josh was looking the other way I linked Theo. Should we run now? I asked him in a panic. No. If Edward's going to do what I think then no we definitely can't run yet He answered before cutting off the link. I jumped a little when he slammed the trunk closed. With his hand on the small of my back he ushered me to the car where I was sat between him and Josh.

It was definitely a tense ride till we reached Mason's pack. I could hear howls from other wolves and could see some running through the trees. The car rolled to a stop at the tree line and I saw a newly shifted man walking towards the window. "State your business" He said lowly. "I'm Edward Gray, this is my mate Angela" He said pointing to my mom. "Our daughter, Odessa Gray, Joshua and Theo. We're here to see your Alpha" Edward said. The man looked at each of us before his eyes glazed over.

After a few moments his eyes became normal again and he nodded her head. "I'll escort you to the Alpha" He said. His shifted into his wolf and started trotting forward. Edward followed along with the car and I started getting nervous. "Calm down Dessa" Angela said with a smile "We won't let anything happen to you" She added. I closed my eyes and took some deep breaths trying to slow my heart down.

We finally reached Mason's pack house where I could see him standing. Once his eyes found me a sickening smirk graced his face. I wanted to hurl so badly but wouldn't let him see me react. Once the car stopped we all got out. "Dessa can you help me with the bags?" Angela asked ushering me to the trunk. I wanted to object but the look she gave me didn't give me a chance to. "Uh sure" I said as we reached the trunk.

"Eddie what can I do for you?" I could hear Mason ask. "I see you brought me my chosen mate. So I take it our agreement is still on?" He continued. "You could say that" Edward said as I pulled my bag out of the trunk. I thought you said you wouldn't let him hurt me I linked to Angela. We won't She said with a smirk. Just as she closed the trunk to the car I saw Edward lunge at Mason. He wasn't expecting it at all so he didn't have time to defend himself.

All I could see was Edward jerking his head sharply away from Mason's neck. Then he moved away and I saw Mason laying dead on the ground. He had a giant chunk of his neck missing and blood was pouring out rapidly. My eyes moved to Edward who had his wolf fangs out and blood drenched his lips. With one of his fangs he cut his hand then Mason's before joining them.

I am Alpha Edward Gray. I have killed your Alpha because he tried to r**e my daughter. Howl your submission or be banished and classified as a rogue I heard Edward link. Howls rang through the night sky causing me to shiver. Once the howls died down I heard Edward link again. We will contact the Elders to host an official ranking ceremony soon He said before dropping Mason's hand. He wiped his mouth on his arm clearing some of the blood before grabbing at Angela and making out with her. Once they were done Edward turned to me. "I told you he would pay" He said before taking his bag and heading towards our new house.
