Steigan backed Aeribela out the door and pulled it shut, with a nod to Petor. “Another way then,” he said, taking her around the side of the Temple. They ran through the garden and entered through the kitchens. Steigan knocked a startled cook out of his way.
“Caldron Fred has lost his head. It is said that Caldron Fred lost his head,” Steigan sang to the surprised man as he grabbed a chair from one of the kitchen tables. “But how is it that the head got lost from Caldron Fred?” Steigan used the chair to bar the kitchen door shut, locking the kitchen behind him.
Steigan and Aeribela went up the circular staircase to the second floor.
“What was that?” Aeribela asked.
