Steigan searched the third floor library for an escape route. “If I were a Holy Sapere and afraid a dominus was coming back from the dead to get me, the last thing I'd want is to be trapped on the third floor. There's got to be another way out.”
He thought about the catacomb door in the library beneath the Temple. It had been hidden in the far right corner, but that corner here sported a glass window with a beautiful view of the valley and forest. He tried the left corner. There, he found a little alcove with a door hidden in the paneling. He moved a small bookcase and when he did, the passageway opened.
“This way,” Steigan called to Aeribela.
“Good job.” She put her arms around herself and rubbed her skin against the cold air coming out of the passage. “A bit drafty though.
