Primrose

Chapter 4

Veronica arrived in Martin’s house early in the morning and was looking through the plan that was written down of how everything would take place, Gerry and Martin were showing it to her in the home office. After she read it all, she nodded and said. “Well planned I suppose. I hopefully think it will perfectly work.”  

“Of course Vero the plans we make don’t easily fail.” Gerry said.

 They walked her out and Primrose knowing Vero was around she was roaming around the sitting room and when Vero reached there she pretended to be surprised.

“Miss Vero?” Primrose asked.

“How are you?” Vero asked.

“Am fine.” Primrose replied.

“I saw the plans and everything and I have seen they have trusted you and have kept you the center of performance, that you will be responsible to kill all the three if not four. In this case you need to work hand in hand with Mr. Martin’s crew to make sure everything works out exactly the way it is planned without getting any of us in trouble.” Vero said in front of Martin and Gerry. 

“Well said Vero.” Martin said.

“Hopefully you got my boss’ message last night Mr. Martin, our people should not be threatened, harmed, used for other missions or much less killed by you, they are still our people and they don’t belong to you so my boss is not expecting anything of the sort, he wouldn’t like to hear anything bad from his people about you.” Vero said it purposely before Primrose and Martin.

“I surely heard it from him.” Martin said.

“Am glad you did.” Vero said. “I will be going now.” Vero walked out of the house.

On the other hand, Diana and Rose had spoken a lot already. They were very happy to see each other again.

“I hope one day, Jack will accept you back and you guys will be happy again because I know he still does love you.” Rose said.

“Yeah Rose Jack still loves me I saw it in his eyes but he just doesn’t want me anymore.” Diana complained.

“The only thing he is afraid of is the same old story repeating itself because it was really hard for him to handle but all you have to do is to prove him wrong, prove him that you have changed and what happened in the past can never happen again.” Rose said. “Show him that you are a full grown woman now and you can stand on your words and you can control your own life.” She added.

“That’s what I want to but he won’t give me the chance.” Diana cried.

“Look you don’t need to be in a relationship with him to prove that, you can be friends with him and show him how everything is different now trust me he will fall for it and he will take you back.” Rose advised.

“Thank you Rose… you are always that twin sister I dreamt of when I was young am really glad you are here right now.” Diana said with a smile and they embraced each other again.

“I love you, sis.” Rose said.

“Love you too sis.” Diana said.

“Ok enough of my business, our other twin is still missing it has been a lot of years and we even don’t know if she is still alive.” Diana said.

“Yeah our other sis…” Rose’s eyes were brightened with tears. “Actually Primrose has been the reason for my frequent visits in Montes when you were not around.” She said.

“Yeah she disappeared here in Montes.” Diana said.

Rose sighed and said, “I remember a lot about us in the old times when we all met just when we were really young.”

“Yeah Primrose was the one who started calling us her sisters.” Diana said and she chuckled. “You started calling the three of us twins.” She added.

“And you would just called us sis…” Rose said as some tears were flowing from her eyes. “Her parents died just like that and she disappeared with her little brother.” She added.

“Our beautiful twin, I wonder how she is doing wherever she is.” Diana said.

At night Primrose and Vero met in their grandma’s house.

“I think it’s best if you and I don’t meet again in Grandma’s house, it is dangerous during this time.” Vero said.

“Yeah you are right. Sis I… I …” Primrose anxiously spoke.

“I know what you want to say. This is the reason I didn’t want you to work for Mr. Greg in the first place, that is why I worked so hard for you to just get simple business tasks my dear, it is not easy to take away people’s lives especially for the first time but once you already do it becomes just very easy.” Vero said. “I didn’t want to let you into this mess because I didn’t want you to turn out like me. At first I knew I had no family at all but I found you my young sis and my little brother David whom I don’t even know where he is. I will protect you and I don’t need you to be a bad person because in the end I want you and hopefully David to be happy, I want neither the law nor anybody else to haunt you.” She said.

“Vero…” Primrose cried.

“I will kill all the three targets not being so sure of detective Jack whom they might just silence.” Vero said. “So it is the 3 or probably 4.” She added, “they will know it is you but I will be behind everything.” Vero said. 

Primrose sadly went to embrace Vero. She said, “am so sorry sis.” 

“But you need to make sure that when this mission is complete you must have all details about David that you can get from Martin’s house.” Vero said.

“We will all be happy in the end, you, I and David.” Primrose hopefully said. Vero looked at her and smiled.

“You be careful in that monster’s house.” Vero said.

It was another day where Diana took Tracy for shopping they were happily talking to each other as they bought clothes and much of girly stuffs. They spent a lot of time together until it was night and Diana had to take Tracy home. Jack and his family were having diner and suddenly Tracy and Diana got in.

“Oh you girls spent a lot of time together today. Welcome Diana.” Emilia said happily as Jack just looked at his food and continued eating as if he didn’t see them, Anne was just staring at Diana. “Come on join us Diana.” Emilia invited.

“Really mom?” Diana couldn’t believe it.

“Yes why not?” Emilia said as Jack surprisingly stared at his mom.

Diana and Tracy joined them and they all had diner. They couldn’t stop talking while eating. Diana was sitting beside Anne and was facing Jack.

“Oh Anne my name is Diana, when I left you were something like 3 years old. You are a big girl now.” Diana said looking at Anne who was a little bit shy.

“Thanks.” Anne said.

“Anne you will get used to Diana she is such a good woman, a sister I never had and she is bro Jack’s future wife.” Tracy said something that made Anne smile while covering her mouth.

“Don’t mind your sister Anne.” Jack said.

They all looked at each other and smiled except for Jack.

“Jack came back early from his job today, he even prepared with me the food we are eating.” Emilia said.

“Really you can cook this good Jack?” Diana asked.

“Mom, Tracy.” Jack called. “Would you please stop this! I have had enough with you guys.” He complained and walked away to his room.

“I think it is best if I leave mom.” Diana said.

“Don’t worry my dear just give him time.” Tracy said.

“It’s ok dear you are always welcome in here even if you and Jack are still not in good terms.” Emilia said.

“Thank you so much.” Diana said and embraced them all and walked out and drove back home.

On the night of that day Senator Cruz was in the Casino hotel, his two bodyguards were watching him as he enjoyed himself drinking and having conversations with ladies especially. Suddenly a lady in black clothes, high heels shoes, shades and blond hair with dark lipstick arrived and sat somewhere quite far from him but in a position where he could see her. The senator without wasting much time followed her and sat next to her. They talked for a while and later on headed to one of the hotel rooms. Arriving in the room the lady requested for them to keep on drinking first until when the man was so drunk. His bodyguards were outside but inside the lady in black was obviously Primrose and Vero arrived coming in through the window although it was few floors up. Primrose was already getting afraid as Vero put poison in the man’s drink, she was dressed almost just like Primrose and so she went to the bed where the man was and he couldn’t even note the difference.

“Enough of the drinks, I just want you.” He said as his eyes rolled he was very drunk.

“No dear this is the last, come on now sweetheart, why the hurry we have the whole night together.” Vero said.

The senator took it but he didn’t drink yet and Vero was smiling at him and kissed his forehead. Primrose was in the washroom thinking about what was going on.

“Senator Cruz? Diana’s dad wasn’t a senator but she once said that her dad would want to be a senator one day, Diana Fernando Cruz, oh my God what’s this senator’s full name?” Primrose thought and began feeling anxious and she immediately went to the bedroom from the bathroom and found the senator dying on the ground as Vero watched.

“What’s this Senator’s full name?” She anxiously asked.

“Senator Fernando Cruz.” Vero said. “Now let’s get out of here.” She added.

“What?!” Primrose wondered as she went and wanted to pick the senator up.

“What are you doing Primrose are you insane?” Vero asked.

“We are taking him to the hospital right now.” Primrose cried confusingly as she tried to pick up the senator.

“What?! Are you mad?” Vero asked and held her hand. “Let’s get out of here before it is too late.” Vero insisted.

“No I can’t let him die!” Primrose cried. Vero gripped her hand and pulled her out and they went out through the window, when they reached outside, Primrose was so confused, she was crying and wanted to run back inside but Vero hit her on the back of her head and she fainted. He took her in the car and took off hurriedly.

Early in the morning the bodyguards found the senator’s body on the floor and the case was reported and in no time detective Jack and his crew arrived, together with the temporal detective Martinez. They searched around for any possible evidence but there was no any even the video tapes in the cameras that showed how the senator and Primrose were talking and how Vero and Primrose escaped were stolen. Jack felt confused, he felt the case being critical and he even thought of Diana. 

“Keep searching for any possible evidence.” Detective Martinez ordered the police officers.

“Yes sir.” They continued with the search as the two detectives went to the Administration office and they asked a lot of questions as they could.

“When the senator was approaching here to demand for a room, I saw him approaching with a lady but I didn’t even concentrate on her looks of course I was busy with work, the lady however didn’t reach here it is as if she went to the washroom or something as the senator came to us alone requiring a room. At the end when we gave him the keys as he was leaving, the lady met him on the way and they headed to the room.” The hotel's worker explained.

“Tell us everything you remember about this lady’s appearance.” Jack demanded.

“She was in heels though I think she is of moderate height, she had blond hair and she was dressed in total black sir…” She said. “Am sorry I can’t remember more than that.” She added.

“Thank you for the information.” Detective Martinez said.

“Damn we can’t even find the tapes.” Jack still wondered sadly.

They continued searching as the senator’s body was in the hospital for examinations. Primrose woke up next to Vero in their grandma’s house.

“What happened to the senator? Did he really die?” She cried confusingly.

“Would you please come back to your senses! Do you have any idea of what risk you placed on us yesterday?” Vero scolded angrily.

“Is he dead Vero?” Primrose asked again as tears slowly fell from her eyes.

“Long dead, what now?” Vero replied and Primrose cried out loud.

“My sister’s father.” She cried. “I have done harm on my own best friend I really am evil.” She added.

“What sister are you talking about, it is just the three of us, you, I and David.” Vero said.

“No!” she continued crying.

Diana was still sleeping as Rose already heard the bad news. Rose got out of her room and went to Diana’s room and found her sleeping. Rose was sad and even tears were dropping from her eyes. She began looking at Diana and didn’t know what to do but in no time Diana woke up. Knowing it’s Rose beside her she woke up smiling.

“I see you came to wake me up sis.” Diana woke up and sat on her bed but she then noticed Rose’s sad face and some tears on her face.

“Rose…” Diana called while wondering. “What’s wrong don’t tell me you broke up with Fred.” Diana tried to guess.

“No sis, Fred and I are okay.” Rose replied and sat next to her.

“Then what’s wrong? Tell me please.” Diana insisted.

“Diana am sorry.” Rose sadly said and held her hand.

“I don’t understand you.” Diana said.

“Your dad passed away.” Rose said as tears dropped from her eyes, Diana let go of her.

“What?! What are you telling me? What happened to my dad Rose? What happened to my father?” Diana cried.

“He was found dead in the Casino hotel early in the morning.” Rose said. “His body is in the hospital right now for examinations.” She added and suddenly Diana jumped out of her bed and ran away the guards tried to stop her but she cried continuously demanding them to take her to her father. She was taken to the hospital where her dad’s body was and the detectives were already there to get the information they required from the doctors. She ran to her father’s body and sobbed her heart out. Edward was there and was painfully crying too. When Jack came from the doctor’s office, he went to calm Diana down. He hugged her and kissed her on her forehead.

“My father, Jack.” Diana cried as Jack held her in his arms.

“Am really sorry Diana, I really am.” Jack said as he hugged her.

It didn’t take long and the funeral was held. Senator Cruz was buried as so many people mourned for his death especially his two children. He was a good leader and had done a lot for the wellbeing of his people. Ever since he came to power he put a lot of efforts to eliminate human trafficking and drug dealing which was a major problem in Montes and Martin and Greg were behind that and even so many injustices. Diana and her mom, Daniela embraced each other as they all mourned for the senator’s death.
