As I found myself stranded in an unforgiving and bleak environment, a gentle yet urgent voice belonging to a woman called out to me, imploring me to hastily seek refuge and safety.
As I was running in the woods something loud was approaching me, but I did not stop, I couldn't stop.
Feeling exhaustion taking over me, it was getting harder to move. But then I realized that rogues were following me, and there was no way I could defend myself or run away.
The rogues finally caught up to me; but by that point, I collapsed on the ground. Then the wolves took this opportunity to attack me.
I was in so much pain from them attacking me nonstop. I winded up passing out from being in so much pain.
I woke up in a cold sweat as I pulled my knees to my chest; praying that these nightmares would go away.
I've been having the same nightmare long as I can remember. Not knowing if it was a nightmare or something from my past.
The only thing I could remember was waking up in the pack hospital after being in a coma for two months; not knowing who anyone was.
My name is Layla, and I'm an omega working at the pack house as a maid, and cook. On some occasions would do more work than that and I also live here as well.
My life hasn't been easy from the start, and it seems as though it got worse every day especially after the Alpha passed away.
Ever since I woke up from my coma the Alpha Lucas, of the Shadow Moon pack has been trying his best to help me remember my past.
He even found me a place to stay with the pack orphanage. Even though it wasn't much I had to make due to what I had.
Alpha Lucas, told me he found me in the woods and saved me from a pack of rogues that was gonna kill me.
I've been living with this pack for almost eight years now, and many pack members still make fun of me because I don't have a family or even remember where I came from or who my parents were.
They bullied me just because I was different, I wasn't like many wolves. My hair color isn't considered normal nor even my eye color.
I have silver hair that reaches my lower back and my right eye is sky blue while my left eye is forest green. I try not to let the bullying get to me much.
Just realized that it was past 5:00 a.m. and I had to rush to get ready to make breakfast for the pack.
Making my bed then put something on that was clean enough. I didn't have many things but the little stuff that the Luna allowed me to have.
There was a small closet right off of the kitchen that is my bedroom and a small amount of clothes that are old and torn.
Most days I feel bad but other times I feel glad that I have my best friend Carmen. She is the Gamma sister and she looks out for me.
I also had the Alpha for some time before he passed away 4 years ago but mostly I'm glad that I'm still alive considering what happened to me.
Putting my hair in a ponytail and smoothing out my sleeve shirt at the same time making sure my pants were not too tight.
Then I head out to the kitchen to get everything started. Looking in the refrigerator I took out all the items that I needed to cook eggs, bacon, sausage, milk, and cheese.
I decided for the breakfast menu to be homemade French toast, steak and eggs, pancakes and waffles with sausage or bacon with cheese eggs, and fruit salad. Cooking and baking is my passion and it's the only thing Luna believe I could get right.
Once I finished cooking the other omegas helped me line the food up in the dining hall like a buffet so anyone could just grab what they wanted.
I'm always the last one to eat breakfast, being that I have to clean up before I can eat. What were the rules that Luna told me I had to go by?
The pack members came in and got what they wanted and once I knew I was not needed I went into the kitchen to start cleaning.
It was so much to clean, but I never complained or else I'll be punished, I learned my lesson from the last time the hard way.
After everyone was finished eating, the omegas brought the dirty dishes into the kitchen to be washed then I was left alone like always.
While I was washing dishes I heard footsteps approaching the kitchen, and realized it was Alpha Derek, who is the son of the late Alpha Lucas. Along with him was his Beta John and his Gemma Luke.
I had a crush on Derek, since Alpha Lucas, first introduced us but after the Alpha died, Derek got violent towards me just made my feelings for him decrease a little.
Feeling a little frightened having them around me, I just tried to focus on my task at hand. Beta John, approached me and said you're not going to acknowledge your Alpha presents.
I quickly turned around bowed my head down towards the Alpha, and said good morning Alpha, I apologize for not greeting you, please forgive me.
Beta John, grabs a handful of my hair plays with it, and whispers into my left ear saying he knows how I can make it up for disrespecting our Alpha.
I froze not knowing what to do or what to say. Beta John, continues to whisper in my ear saying how long he has been wanting to take my virginity.
Alpha Derek, told John, that was enough, and let me continue with my duties before I got clumsy and broke something.
Turning back around to finish up what I was doing, Beta John, grabbed my butt and said he will have me and there will be nothing I could do to stop it. The rest of the time the three were there I tried to ignore them.
Once finish in the kitchen I have to wash all the clothes and linens that the other maids collected.
Heading to the laundry room Carmen, stopped me to hand me some food because I forgot to eat like always. Once I get to work I tend to forget to eat or don't realize that I'm hungry.
Carmen, came with me to the laundry room so we could hang out. She was getting excited because my 18th birthday was coming up soon. She wanted to make me a new dress so I could look hot for when I found my mate.
When a wolf turns 18, they are now able to sense their mate, sometimes your mate will be in the same pack as you were born into.
But at other times like Carmen, they are not. Carmen turned eighteen a year ago but unfortunately, she wasn't able to find her mate.
I'm very blessed to have Carmen, not only does she make me clothes but she would also helps me train so I can defend myself.
Since the Luna had forbidden me from training with the pack, we would sneak off in the middle of the night to train.
After the laundry was done I gave the maids all the clothes and linens to put them away. I was finished with my chores for the time being until dinner so me and Carmen, headed to the lake; which was located behind the pack house deep in the woods.
We shifted to our wolves and headed to the lake. My wolf's name is Calista, her fur is all silver like my hair and she also has blue and green eyes.
My wolf is large compared to most omegas, and because of that Carmen, is the only one I have shown my wolf to. Calista doesn't talk much but when she does it's very important and she also pushes me to be a better me.
Carmen's, wolf's name is Allura, and she is beautiful, her fur is brown hazel eyes and she can be overprotective sometimes but we get along.
Once we reached the lake we decided to get wet, so we changed back to our human form and went for a swim.
After being in the water for some time; we finally got out. Carmen, wanted to discuss what I wanted to do for my birthday but I still had months before I turned eighteen.
I wasn't sure what I wanted to do; maybe leave the pack to find my family or at least find out who they were and where I came from.
