Unsure Luna

"Honey come down here" my mom calls. Are you excited for tomorrow? You might just find your mate. Oh, yeah of course I am mom. Well run along and get ready Jade there is lots to do today. I run up the stairs just to get lost in thought I have never wanted a mate I just wanted to make it to 18 so I could get out of here. Of course my wolf Selena does not agree she wants nothing more than to find her mate. I have been stuck under my Mom and Dad the Alpha and Luna of the Northland pack my whole life. I just want to be free for a little while. Tomorrow is my 18th birthday my parents are planning a big ball to try and fast track me finding my mate. Little do they know I have no intention of staying for the ball. I plan on running the first chance I get tomorrow. I guess I better get started on this busy day so mom doesn't get suspicious. We go and try on my dress, find shoes, a crown, and jewelry. Honestly all of this makes me want to throw up I'd rather wear my ripped jeans and converse. My mom believes you have to dress up when you are a future Luna but at least my dad gets her to calm down. He says she may be a future Luna but she is also a warrior! They argue about it but normally my dad gets her to lay off. Across the street is the town library and I have probably read 80% of the books in there. I really need some new books. I hate reading on my phone when I could have a actual book in my hand! Finally we are home and the day is done I can sleep and pack for tomorrow. Jade stop we can't go. Selena don't you want to just run and us be free for a little while. To not have to answer to someone and all the rules just run as much as our heart wants! Jade our mate will understand us he won't force us to be who we aren't like the parents do we can be ourselves. Please don't run. I'm with you but at least think about it. I think leaving would be the worst decision we could make. Lets just go to sleep tomorrow is a whole new day for us.
