After Cory said that, he bent over and scooped Elena up from the floor.
He carried her in between his arms in the bridal style which was very familiar to Elena. Only this time, she wasn’t looking at him, but at his neck.
The lights on the roof of the hallway were very bright. It clearly presented every vein and muscle on his neck. Cory kept his head high, looking straight to the front, which exposed his artery.
Elena had this strong impulse to bite it. Cory was an Alpha, but his wolf wasn’t that strong, not even half as strong as his father. Which was the main reason why he had been amiable to everyone around him before Lennie came. It was kind of the elephant in the room, the truth no one was allowed to mention in this kingdom. Elena fought him a few times during the training back when they were still teenagers. She wasn’t a feisty warrior, but she had the confidence to give him a fatal strike. As long as she sank her teeth deep enough, and shredded his neck completely when no one else was around, Cory would bleed out before he could heal himself.
It was a very tempting idea. Elena’s blood boiled because of that.
“I don’t think we should do it, L,” Nyla stopped her in her weak voice. “Think about the consequences. If we killed the king, we would be dead too. It’s not worth it to cost our lives for this scumbag. And think about our parents. They would be devastated if they lost us.”
That was a fair point, a little frustrating, but made Elena sober up.
She couldn’t kill Cory, at least not here, not now. It’s not worth it to lose her life for this piece of trash. And she surely couldn’t drag her parents into this. She would find another way to deal with it. There was always the other way.
Noticing the scorching gaze from Elena who was in his arms, Cory lowered his head and smiled at her. He was still in the triumph that he tamed his mate. But that wasn’t enough. It was just the start. He needed more and he had planned more to feed that brutal beast inside his body. It had been starving since the day he got his wolf.
He was going to prove to everyone that he wasn’t weak. He was the Alpha of the Kingdom, the supreme King just like his father. He was never a weak wolf.
Carrying Elena to the second floor where his bedroom was, Cory turned at the corner and brought Elena into another room that Lennie prepared for her “maids”.
It was a huge room as big as two living rooms. Around the room was a circle of wooden stage which was three steps higher than the floor. On that stage placed a dozen different kinds of beds, all hidden behind sheer pink drapes which created an erotic ambiance. And in the middle of the room, there was a TV set, sofas, a pool table, and actually a mini pool filled with red wines. Lennie said someday she would allow him to swim inside it along with all her maids.
Cory was looking forward to it.
“You are not supposed to be there, Your Majesty.”
One of Lennie’s dragon maids stood up from the sofas after Cory kicked open the door. She walked towards him with a charming smile on her face like she was an elegant temple guardian, but all she wore was a thin bikini that was just big enough to cover her n*****s.
Cory’s c**k grew hard seeing her. Her name was Ashely. Lennie’s favorite maid and best friend. She was this great beauty, tall with long auburn curly hair, and she instructed all those dragon maids for Lennie.
“I am just here to deliver your new friend,” Cory said with a hoarse voice. He couldn’t help but lick his lips.
The other dragon maids-there were 11 of them, giggled at the sofa zone. They all huddled together, hiding behind the sofas, watching Cory and Elena, and whispered to each other.
Judging from their naked shoulders, Cory knew they were all wearing bikinis like Ashely, or even better, nothing. His throat grew dry. But he couldn’t do anything at that moment. Lennie said it wasn’t the time yet.
“May I?” He lifted up his arms a little, showing Ashely Elena who was lying in his arms.
Elena had closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep since she saw Ashely's basically naked body. The moment she saw her, Elena knew what “maid” meant at Lennie. Lennie’s maids didn’t clean or cook, at least not only that, they were also responsible for pleasing Lennie’s husband. In other words, they were the harem Lennie prepared for Cory. And now she was part of it.
Elena forced herself not to watch or to think, or else she would vomit blood and die due to anger and humiliation.
She heard Ashely chuckle “Sure, why not?” and then Cory carried her to one of those beds on the wooden stage and left her there.
“Behave and learn, baby,” he said, sitting at the edge of her bed, hand stroking her hair. “I will come to visit you some other time.”
He printed a deep kiss on Elena’s lips before he stood up and left. Elena felt so angry and disgusted. She couldn’t even open her eyes to see what this libidinous cell looked like.
After Cory left, she heard those dragon girls come to her bedside, whispering to each other.
One of them said, “It’s the king’s wolf girlfriend.” She paused for a few moments before she continued, “I heard she is his mate.”
Another one asked, “Aren’t mates supposed to be faithful to only each other?” Her young voice was filled with curiosity. “I heard they have something called mate bond. They can’t betray that.”
“That’s exactly what got her to end up like this,” another mature voice sighed. She was the closest to Elena. “She should have been smarter, known her own man.”
“Then what should we do to her?” another new voice asked. It was sharper than others. “She is a wolf. She is different from us. And also, look at her dress, she is … traditional. I don’t think she can fit with us.”
“And Lennie doesn’t like her,” a new voice added. “Didn’t she attack Lennie? This poor girl will never be happy with us. I hate that. I don’t want unhappiness among us.”
“Relax,” that mature voice said. “Lennie is just being childish. You all know her. She won’t even remember who the girl is in two weeks. And then…”
“She will let her go, right?” A previous girl said. “Lennie never gets attached to things, especially things she dislikes. The wolf girl won’t be here for long. Good for her.”
“I don’t think so,” that mature voice sighed. “It’s not really up to Lennie this time. This girl is some kind of necessity to the wolf king. I doubt he will ever let her go.”
The other dragon girls also sighed. “Poor girl,” they said.
Ashely’s voice cut in from behind them, “Enough talk, girls. Someone gets her changed and cleaned up. The others go get her some food and water. Lennie would want to see her tomorrow morning. She won’t be happy seeing her like this. She hates her maids being weak, remember?”
Those girls answered “sure”, and then split up. Three of them started to remove Elena’s clothes. Elena wanted to stop them, but then thought, what’s the point? The more she resisted, the more excuses for Cory to tor/ture her, so she let them.
After they changed her into some kind of nightgown-Elena felt so relieved that they didn’t for/ce her to wear one of those bikinis-the girl who said she didn’t like unhappiness started to clean her face and neck with a wet towel.
She found the dry blood at Elena’s ear and then rolled Elena’s head over to check. When she saw that huge blood stain on the back of her head, she squeaked, “She is hurt,” she said. “Somebody hit her!!”
The other dragon girls gathered around again. That girl with the mature voice bent over and checked Elena’s head, then comforted the others, “Don’t worry. She is already healed. She is a tough wolf. She will be fine.”
“But someone did hit her, didn't it?” the unhappiness girl said. “She couldn’t have caused that kind of wound on her own unless she was insane. Do you think the wolf king hit her? That’s why she looks so weak.”
Those girls all looked at each other. They were stunned by that question. Ashely walked up and talked to them, “That’s none of our business. We are dragons. We don’t interfere with wolves. Just do your jobs and keep Lennie happy. That’s the sole reason we are here. Stop asking questions.”
“But she is hurt, Ashely,” that mature voice argued. “We can’t just stand by and do nothing. Lennie won't be happy about it. You know that.”
“Then do what you need to do, but no more talk.” Ashely frowned. She didn’t like Elena because she tore Lennie’s face.
Those girls then walked away, but Elena heard someone whisper “We should help her”, and that was her hope.
After a while, Elena heard that unhappiness girl came back to her bedside. She and another girl supported her up from the bed, and then, they started to feed her with some kind of fluid, very cold, bitter but also spicy.
Elena couldn’t help but cough it out. She opened her eyes with a miserable frown. She couldn’t pretend to be asleep anymore.
“She’s awake!” The unhappiness girl who was feeding her with the spoon exclaimed. Elena was so glad to see her have some clothes on-though it was just a semi-lucent cape on her shoulders.
The other girls gathered around too except for Ashley. They all fetched something to cover their bodies. Elena felt suffocated to be surrounded by so many of them. It felt like she was some kind of rare animal in the pit at the zoo, being observed by the curious audience from above. She closed her eyes again.
“I don’t want to eat this,” she said. “Please don’t feed me.’
“It’s a special cure from our homeland,” one of those girls explained. “It will help you recover.”
Elena didn’t want to take it. She didn’t want anything from dragons. But Nyla whined in her mind. She wanted to recover from this weakness. Elena then nodded her head reluctantly.
She ate up the whole bowl of that bitter cure. Those girls then tucked her in.
“I am Aurora,” the unhappiness girl introduced herself, then pointed to another tall girl who helped feed Elena, “That’s Bella. We will be taking care of you from now on. You can talk about anything with us. And tomorrow morning, when you get better, I will introduce you to others.”
The other dragon girls all smiled and waved their hands to her. Elena whispered “Thanks”. She was so glad to know that those girls were sympathetic normal people. They may live together na/kedly like animals, but at least, they had something called conscience.
After Elena laid down, the other dragon girls walked away. Only Aurora and Bella stayed and kept cleaning the blood from her hair.
They both sighed sympathetically while brushing those caked blood off her beautiful flaxen hair. Elena decided to take the chance and asked them for help.
“Aurora, Bella,” she whispered. “I want to meet my parents. Could you please help me with that?”
Aurora widened her eyes. She looked surprised hearing that question.
“Why do you need our help for that?” She asked. “Is there anything wrong with your parents?”
Elena hesitated, but decided to take the risk. Aurora and Bella were dragons, the outsiders of the kingdom. They might not fear Cory like others.
“The problem is not them, but the king,” she said. “He won’t allow me to meet my parents, and he locks me up. But I don’t want this. I want to leave. I want my parents. Please help me. Please.” She cried. And that wasn’t an act.
Aurora and Bella exchanged a look with each other. It was all too new to Aurora. She grew up in a happy family. Nothing bad had ever happened to her. She couldn’t believe someone was capable of doing such brutal things. But for Bella, who was the girl with that mature voice, it wasn’t that unusual. She grew up in the Dragon Palace with Lennie. She knew what it looked like when a man was drunk with power.
“Don’t worry. We will help you,” She placed her hand on Elena’s forehead and assured her gently. “We will help you find a way to get out of this.”
