*You both are so dead." Arianna typed in her phone, as she lay on the bed. "Pardon us your majesty." Came a reply that made her laugh and turn to sleep again.
"Wake up sleepyhead it's morning." Old josh said dragging the blanket away from her face, he had become used to waking her up, that it has become a daily routine for him.
"Uhm it's morning already." Rina said smiling widely at her father.
" Your friends are waiting for you in the living room, so wash up and prepare for college baby." Old said and perked her on the forehead.
" Daddy I'm not a lid anymore!" She laughed, old josh smiled and left her room.
" Good morning everyone." Rina greeted grabbing a piece of toast from the breakfast table.
"The queen of the moores, is finally here." Rico her friend said fawning over her.
*Alright dad we need to start going now, else we would miss our lecturers." Arianna said and hugged her dad, while the others said their goodbyes.
After the kids left old josh sat down with a look of anguish on his face, his thoughts jumbled about the secret he withheld from Rina, he felt she had the right to know but it will break her, and put her in danger.
~ I pray you never find out my baby girl~ he thought inwardly.
*Vale's Villa*
After the saga of last night, vale locked himself in his room, trying to gather his thoughts and wits. After deep thinking, he made a decision to leave everything behind him, and move on with his life.
That morning he shaved his overgrown beard's, trimmed his hair, had a good bath and dressed sharply, he was going to his real estate firm today.
Coming downstairs he saw his grandma at the table staring moody at the food, her puffy eyes a good evidence that she cried herself to sleep.
"Good morning grandma." He greeted kissing her cheeks, after which he sat for breakfast.
"Are you heading out child?" Grandma Mary asked her mood brighten a bit.
"Yes grandma I'm going to work." He replied.
*Vale real estate firm*
Arriving at his firm, vale made his way to his office as greetings form his staffs rented the air.
"Welcome back sir." Victor Marino his personal assistant greeted him as he sat in his chair.
"What is new Vic?" He asked coldly.
* There are proposals from other firm, who are willing to work with us, masco investment has started their bidding sir." Vic reported
"Well-done vic, so did you send in our proposal to the masco's?" He asked.
"I did sir, and I received a positive reply that we will be considered." Vic replied.
"Very good, what is my schedule for today?" He asked
"Sir before your schedule, i think we have a little problem sir." Vic said
"What kind of problem?" Vale asked furrowing his brows.
"Sir it is about the ........fun Vic stammered hesitating to speak.
"Speak" vale commanded coldly.
"Sir I met with the planning and HR department yesterday, after going through records we discovered that the firm is boyant enough to cover the funds for the masco's investment." Vic said trembling slightly.
"Oh that's well solved." Vale said.
"Sir!" Vic exclaimed unsure of what he heard.
"Are you becoming old victor." Vale said nonchalantly
" Sorry sir, this is your schedule for today sir."
"Leave." Vale said his mood dropping drastically.
Victor hastily left the office as instructed, vale went back to the scene of yesterday, how his grandma cried stating it's been over twenty years his parents passed on, that she doesn't remember anything from their murder case.
But vale could see from her guilty eyes, that she was lying. "Why is grandma lying to me? Who is she trying to protect?" He asked himself
He decided to push the matter behind him for a while and concentrate on the documents, he had to review.
He was deeply engrossed in reading the documents when his phone chimed, indicate a new message had been sent.
When he opened the message it was from grandma Mary, "Be at the mansion this evening."
"What is she planning to do again?" He asked the thin air, after reading the message.
The door to his office opened, and one of his female secretary came in without invitation, her movement and and dressing screamed "seduction".
Few of her shirt buttons were undone slightly exposing her chest, "sir this are the documents you requested." She said bending low to keep them on his desk, giving Vale a full view of her oranges.
"You are fired." Vale said coldly. "Sir?" She asked in disbelief. "Get out of my office and my firm." He said his tone furious.
"I'm sorry sir, I will never do again." She pleaded hurriedly closing her buttons.
" Come get this seductress, out of my firm." Vale said over the phone. Few minutes later Vic came to the office, with two securities who dragged the fired secretary out of the office.
*Ashton Mansion*
"I'm back grandma." Vale announced as he handed over his coat to the family butler, "Sir old madame said if you return, you should come see her In the meeting room." Jace the family butler respectfully after receiving the coat.
Vale nodded respectfully and turned around heading towards the meeting room. When he opened the door he was stunned, to see that all important members of the Ashton family were also present.
"Greetings grandma." He greeted taking his seat beside her.
"Since we are complete now, I will announce the reason for this meeting. Grandma Mary said making everyone attentive
From today henceforth, their will be a change in the Ashton group, Vicor as the acting CEO will step down, I'm hereby handling over the Ashton group to Vale Ashton, by tommorow all legal documents will be signed and processed, for him to take over office." She concluded.
"Mother what are you doing? Vicor, vale's uncle yelled from his seat.
He is just twenty one!" He exclaimed.
"I want you all to follow and obey his rules and directives, the way you will do mine, any vital information in your possession should be handed over to him Vicor as you hand over office tommorow my decision is final, meeting dismissed." Grandma Mary said and without sparing Vicor as much as a glance she left .
After grandma Mary left Vicor couldn't hold back his anger and was about to erupt, when his wife Marina placed her hands over his, "not now." She mouthed.
Vicor calmed himself and smiled, "congrats nephew." He said to vale.
"Thanks uncle, I promise to do better than you and take the group higher." Vale said with a mocking smile making Vicor grit his teeth in anger.
"Congrats cuz." Marcus his favorite cousin cheered happily. "Thanks buddy come over later, let's grab a drink." Vale told him.
Few hours later after everyone left, Vale made his way to his grandma's room.
"May I come in grandma?" He asked.
"Come in my child. Came a reply from her.
Sit here." She said patting her beside for him to sit.
"Grandma why did you give me group?" Vale asked holding her hands.
"Because I want you to give me a grandchild Vale." Grandma Mary said making vale speechless.
