"Rina your dad fainted, he had been rushed to city hospital they said his case is critical and that they brought him late ." Jack said over the phone
"No! No!." Rina screamed throwing her phone and bag off, she started running in great haste to city hospital.
"Rina what happened?" Keisha asked picking her bag and phone up, but Rina was already out of sight.
Thirty minutes later Rina ran into the hospital panting heavily, she approached the ER nurses. "Please where can I find the patient that was rushed in a while ago." She asked.
"Please miss be specific, many patients were rushed in." One of the nurses said kindly.
"An elderly man, that fainted at the factory." Rina said tears spilling down here eyes.
"He is still in the ER miss, the doctors are still attending to him, please wait there until they are done." The nurse replied.
Rina sat on the hospital bench, she placed her head in her palms, praying for her dad safety.
After waiting for about thirty minutes "Hello miss, the doctor is calling you." The nurse from earlier said.
"Okay thanks." Rina said slowly following the direction the nurse gave her she arrived at the doctor's office.
"Hello doctor, how is my father? Will he be okey?" She asked without even sitting down.
"Calm down pretty lady, take a seat first your dad is doing well for now so please stop crying." Dr Jake said trying to pacify her.
"I'm sorry doctor." She apologized taking a seat.
Rina wiped her tears and gathered her wits while Jake stared at her quietly. "Doctor how is my father? What is wrong with him?" She asked.
" To be honest my lady, your dad is in a very critical condition, his kidney and lungs are failing, he requires a kidney transplant else he won't stay alive for long." Dr Jake said.
Arianna took the news calmly, her dad must have know of his failing health, yet he hid it from her, this pained her but for now she needed to save him before blaming him.
"Doctor how much, will the surgery cost?" She asked
"The surgery in total will cost twenty eight million, twenty millions will be paid before surgery, and eight million after." Dr Jake explained.
"How many months does he have left doctor?" She asked.
"1 week, he has just 1 week left miss." Dr Jake replied.
Arianna left dr Jake office in a daze, her father was under intensive care and she could only see him through the glass.
With tears dripping down her eyes, she made her way outside the hospital and bumped into vale again. "I'm sorry sir." She apologized without sparing him a glance.
Vale recognize her "It's the nutcase again, she is always crying."vale muttered.
*Uphill Josh family Villa*
"Uncle that was what the doctor said." Arianna said after narrating everything to her uncle Aidan Josh, who was Matteo's father
"Oh my Rina this is very sad, oh my poor brother." Aidan said shaking his head pitifully.
"So why are you here Rina, instead of being at the hospital with your sick dad?" Vivian aidan's wife asked.
" Aunty I came to ask for financial assistance, my dad and I don't have that amount of money anywhere, please uncle, aunty please help me I don't want to lose my father please." She cried going on her knees to beg.
"No need to knee Rina, we can't be if help to you at all." Vivian said
"No you can, uncle I know you can, please help me." Rina cried bitterly on the floor
"Okay let's say I give you the money, what is the assurance that your father will survive? Please I can't be of any help to you and your dying father ." Aidan said breaking Rina
That was when reality dawned on Rina, they weren't going to help her, she stood up and dragged her sorry self out of their house.
"How did it go Rina? Did they agree to help?"Rico and Keisha asked immediately they saw her.
"No" she said crying bitterly.
"It's alright Rina, stop crying we are here for you, pull yourself together we will find a way to help." They said comforting her.
After a while, Rina pulled herself together and head towards the hospital, while her friends went to find ways to help her raise money.
*City hospital*
"Have you heard about Dr. Jake's new project proposal?" A blonde nurse asked her colleague.
"Yes I have and its really nice and we'll paid for those interested." Her colleague replied.
"Sorry nurses, please what proposal are you guys talking about?" She asked. She has been eavesdropping on their conversation from where she sat.
"Oh it's Dr Jake's proposal for a surrogate mother." The blonde replied.
"Thanks nurse." She said and she thought about it to herself and after about few minutes of thinking she went towards Dr Jake office
"Sir I will do it, i will become a surrogate mother for your project." She said as soon as she entered his office. "Oh really!" Doctor Jake exclaimed accessing her.
"Yes I'm willing doctor but will the payment be enough to cover for my dad's surgery?" She asked
"Of course it will dear, but I will need to run some test on you to be sure." He replied
"Hey guys I have gotten the money." Rina said to her friends, without any hint of smile.
"Really!" They exclaimed.
"Yes but I need a favor from you both." She said.
"Anything for you Rina." they promised her after she explained that she needed to travel to a remote village, where she would work for nine months, so they should help her look after her father.
*4 months later*
Old josh surgery was a success, while Rina was placed in a secret VIP room, the I.V.F was a success and the foetus has started developing smoothly in her womb.
Unable to do anything, than watch movies movies or read books, Rina started getting attached to the baby in her womb, always talking and chatting with the unborn child.
*9 months later*
Prior to Vale's orders a C.S was conducted on Rina, and she was delivered of a handsome baby boy.
"Dr can I see my child, just for a minute." Rina pleaded
"I'm sorry Rina, but it's against the contract." Dr josh said softly
"No no I want to see my baby, no." Rina screamed becoming hysterical trying to drag the child with the nurses.
"Give her two shots now." Dr Jake ordered.
After the shots were administered, Rina fell asleep and the baby was carried away to his waiting father.
Few hours later Arianna woke up, she was alone and her baby was not by her side.
Staggering, she stood muttering "I need to find my baby." She headed outside the hospital, still staggering and was brutally knocked down by a speeding vehicle.
At the same moment vale received a text from an unidentified number.
"Watch your back, there is a bounty on your head."
" I'm sorry sir, but your daughter has slipped into coma, and we can't determine when she will wake up." Dr Jake said sadly to old Josh, who held his chest as tears flowed down his eyes.
*Five years later*
"Daddy I like that fine aunty, I want her to be my mummy."
