"Say something Jake." Vale said bringing the stunned Jake back to reality. "Are you alright Vale?" Jake asked. "Perfectly." Vale affirmed.
"Bro I am a man, why are you asking me for a child? That request is supposed to be directed to a woman not me." Jake said
"I know but....you know I can't." Vale said scratching his hair.
"Bro what brought about you having a child issue?". Jake asked
Vale calmly filled Jake about his grandma's request and what he promised her. " Wow this is huge bro! Jake exclaimed, so what do you plan on doing now?" He asked.
"That is why I called you over Jake, because you are in the best position to help me." Vale said while Jake nodded urging him to continue.
"Here is the proposal bro." Vale said pushing a document over to Jake.
Jake skimmed through it and laughed. "So in essence bro, I am to find a medically clean woman who is to become a surrogate mother, you won't have a physical contact with her.
You will give me your sperm, so we can carry out I.V.F on her, I'm to keep your identity a secret, she is not allowed to know who the child's father is.
After birthing the child, she is not allowed to see the child even for a second, the child is to be brought to you. You will pay twenty five million upfront and three million after delivery." Jake read the words in the documents out.
"You missed a clause Jake, she must be very pretty a clear definition of perfection." Vale said his tone imposing.
"This is crazy vale, I must confess but anyway I will try my very best, and I will keep you updated at every step of the way." Jake said.
" Nah Jake, no need to keep me updated okay, all I just want is the results don't even send me the lady picture, just do your thing Jake handle everything yourself, have a goodnight rest." Vale said standing up to leave.
"Seriously bro, you are dumping your problems on me, who does that?" Jake yelled staring at vale's cold back as he left.
*Downtown*
"Good morning dad." Arianna greeted her father, who stood in front of the cooker preparing breakfast for her.
"Good morning my angel, how was your night?" He asked flipping over the beacon he was preparing.
"Splendid dad, and I trust yours was perfect." Rina replied .
"Of course it was as beautiful as you my angel. Old Josh said making her laugh.
I can see you are all dressed for school, so come over and have your breakfast I made your favorite."
"Thanks dad." Arianna said taking a seat at the dining, while old josh served her breakfast.
"Wow this looks yummy! She exclaimed. Daddy's cooking is always exceptional." She said making old josh laugh.
"I want daddy to eat with me today, I can't finish all this alone." She said patting the chair next to her. Rina knew that with her father meager income he can't provide breakfast for two, but he always pretended to be okay.
"Okay since my princess invited me, then I will indulge her majesty." Her dad said joining her at the table.
*Ashton group*
Everyone ranging from regular employees, managers, directors and all Ashton group too executives stood neatly on a single according to their positions, they were all waiting at the lobby to welcome the newly appointed CEO as per Ashton group traditions.
They all expected flights of cars and tight securities to escort the new appointed CEO, but vale who wasn't someone you could predict came in his favorite super power bike, and yes he wasn't putting on a suit he was dressed in a casual blue jean, and a well ironed white shirt, his face cap was worn backward, giving him the aura of a typical playboy.
When the entire staffs saw the the appearance of their newly appointed CEO, they had mixed reactions. The boys were disheartened, the girls swooned in love while the executives were visibly discouraged, they started thinking and calculating the fall of Ashton group.
"Welcome Mr CEO." They all chorused as vale entered into the company. "I want to see all top executives and directors, at the conference room in the next thirty minutes. Thanks for the warm welcome." Vale said without a smile making his way to his office.
Victor Marino and Marcus Ashton were already waiting for vale in his office prior his arrival.
"Good morning sir." Vic greeted. "Did you get what I asked for?" Vale asked .
"Yes sir they are all here." Vic said handling over a sealed envelope to him.
"Very good Vic, Marcus are you ready?"
"Born ready." Marcus affirmed
"Let's go." Vale said leaving the office with Marcus and Victor.
*Ashton group conference room*
Everyone sat quietly their thoughts running Helter skelter, they were all trying to think about the reason why the newly appointed CEO would ask for a meeting on his first day of taking over office, with giving them the chance to access him and cover their lapses.
"Sorry I kept you all waiting. Vale said taking his seat, Marcus did same while Vic stood beside vale's seat.
So the reason for this meeting gentlemen and women, is simply to weed out some unwanted plants, so please if you hear your name, kindly stand." Vale said eloquently.
Vic collected the file and called out some names of the director's and top executives, they stood unsure of why they were called.
"Very good, so for those of you still sitting congratulations, you are fired. Vale said with a sly smile.
"Outrageous! What wrong did we commit? You can't just fire us like that, it's totally unacceptable." One of the top executives shouted I'm anger.
"Well I like it like that, I'm the CEO, I do what I like, and there is nothing you can do about it.
Leave now else I can call the securities to escort you all out." Vale said with a cold smile.
After the fired directors and executives left, Vale turned to the rest and said, "In few days, new staffs will be joining us, continue with your good deeds anyone I catch doing anything shady, will face the consequences meeting dismissed."
*Chicago city college*
Arianna had just finished her lectures, and was chatting with her friends when her phone rang, it was old Josh calling. "Hello dad did you miss me so much, that you couldn't wait but call me?" She teased
"Rina this isn't dad, it's jack." A voice replied.
"Oh Mr jack greetings, what are you doing with my dad's phone? Where is he?" She questioned.
"Arianna your dad old Josh fainted and was rushed to the hospital, they said his condition is critical.you need to be here .
