The Day of the Wedding!!
Olivia POV
It was the day of my wedding here I stood all in white ready to marry my fiancé, only to find him in the closet with my maid of honor who just so happened to be my step sister. She always got everything while I had to work to scrimp and scrape for the money to have my wedding. I shut the door quietly and ran out the back. My wedding planner rushing out after me. I sat in the garden taking in the smell of the fresh spring tulips and roses that I remember my mother and father use to give me every birthday till I turned 14. I was 14 when I lost my mother in a car accident.
My dad was unconscious for several days and, from what the doctors told me, I was in a coma for 6 months before I came out. I remembered my dad but when they told me about my mom I felt blank. My dad told me I tried so hard to remember. After I was released from the hospital, I was close to my 15th birthday when my dad gave me one tulip and one rose. I smelled them and all my memories hit at once. Being in the garden made me miss my parents so much.
My dad ended up dying when I turned 17 and, of course, by then he had remarried. I thought my stepmother and stepsister liked me but it was evident after dad passed away that they didn't. I had inheritance money I was supposed to get when I turned 18 or if I went to college after I got my Bachelors degree I would get it. However, I saw none of that money. I figured it had gone towards their new cars and the house and whatever else they wanted. I paid my way through school my whole way because both my parents were gone. I got my bachelor's in Accounting, and I worked for the biggest company in the city.
New York was pretty big, but I didn't know how I had made it all these years. When I snapped out of my memories, my wedding planner was snapping her fingers at me, followed by dabbing the tears away. "What happened, Olivia?" asked Mrs. Therapist. Breathing through tears, I told her what I saw about my stepsister and my fiancé. After 10 minutes, I went back in ready to tell everyone what had happened.
That's when I saw him outside the front door dressed and ready to be married. Only he was on the phone arguing with someone. I went outside, and I tapped him on the shoulder. He immediately turned his head and put his phone to his chest and gently whispered..... "One minute please." I waited like he asked and waited. He got off the phone, and he seemed frustrated with whoever he got off the phone with. I felt the lump in my throat and no matter how hard I tried to swallow, I couldn't.
I never felt this way with Adam, but with him, it's different. My back was against the wall and I could feel my wedding planner as she watched this whole scene go down. I finally took a deep breath and asked, would you marry me? He grinned from ear to ear, and we locked our arms together. I had no one to give me away, so I decided to choose my gay friend from college who became my roommate. He was awesome, and he felt more like the big brother I never had.
I watched as my Fiancé's family got up and left, but I turned and made sure I had my evidence hooked up to the big screen behind me. I grabbed a microphone and said, For those of you who are about to leave, that's here is why I am not marrying Adam now. I played the video and they all left. I only had 10 people who came, and my stepmother showed up, but she was so drunk she was already throwing up, so my wedding planner made her leave. I turned to the preacher who was set to marry us, and he looked at me and then looked at the man in front of me. I finally knew my rescuers name......
His name was Westley Kensington. He was the richest person in the city. All I could do was turn to Amber, who stepped up as my made of honor and I worked with her. We shared an office and I even helped with some of the campaigns and advertisements for our company. I would never have gotten to where I am without her. I always made sure my bosses knew it was a joint effort between us both.
She looked at me and put her thumbs up. Westley picked me up and carried me to his limo that was parked out front. I had a taxi set up to pick us up, but he went and grabbed my things and left Adams by the front door for him and paid the driver. I sat in the limo, nervous, looking at our wedding certificate with both our names on it. He gave me a diamond ring that fit just perfectly, but I felt bad because his ring was so bland and was too tight on him. When he came in, he spouted off an address.
I didn't realize it was mine and Adams' place till I got there. I was married now, so I knew I was going to need to move out and in with my husband. When I got there, the apartment was trashed. All my stuff was thrown together in suitcases and a change of lease agreement to remove me off the lease. I took it with me so I could have my lawyer friend read through it with me. I wasn't about to fall for another trick.
My mother's and father's pictures were still missing, so I went to what was supposed to be our bedroom when I heard moaning noises. I didn't care. I just barged right in, grabbed my mother's & father's pictures and left the room, slamming the door. Adam came running after me, putting his pants on down the hall. I grabbed the rest of my clothes from my closet that he made me keep separate from what was supposed to be OUR room. He grabbed my wrist, twisting it as he spoke. "What are you doing here? You made it clear you don't want to be with me.
This is not your place anymore. Just sign that dam agreement and get out of here before I break your arm,"Said Adam. That's when I felt him jerk away from me and heard a punch sound at the same time. When I backed away from him, I felt a hard chest and a gentle touch. I looked up and it was Westley. He helped me grab the rest of my things and we left. My wrist hurt, and he insisted on taking me to the hospital.
What he didn't know was I did gymnastics when I was younger and then writing that Adam grabbed the wrist I had injured years ago. I put my brace on the best I could, until Westley had to step in and fix it. When the car stopped, we were at this house that was huge. We went in and because I got hurt he had people carry my bags of what little I had left. We walked to his room and then down the hall I had my own room. I stood shaking in fear to be by myself like I had already done something wrong.
Tears streamed down my face. Still in my wedding dress and heels, I had no idea how to feel. Westley scooped me up and took me to his room instead. I guess this is something we were both going to have to get used to. At least now in his arms for tonight, I knew I'd be safe.
