The moment she set foot into Thomas's house, she knew it was where she wanted to be. She became alive immediately like someone being granted a new lease of life. This was rather strange as she had never felt for any man what she was feeling for Thomas.
It was evening and they were having dinner.Thomas had excused himself to make a final call to Diane to find out if anything new had come up.
"So far nothing yet, but I'll let you know." she answered
"Okay, just get me on the phone when you can. Bye" he said about to cut the call.
" So that's it, that's how you want to end the day?" she asked hoping to get some attention from him.
"Look this is not the time to talk Diane, I'm sure we can do that some other time,"
"We have a whole weekend to talk and do other things."
"I have too much work to do around the house. I'm sorry my weekend is already filled with engagments."
"I get it.You don't want to see me. As usual we don't connect when it's a weekend." she cut the call.
Thomas smiled on his way back to the dinner table to meet Wendy.
"Who kept you on the phone that long?"
"Oh just called work," he managed to say.
"Look if you're going to work all weekend, then I might as well go back home right after dinner."
"Hey my phone is off so no calls okay,"
"Sure and will you be alright without a call from work?" Wendy asked. Thomas looked at her quite perplexed.
"Why do you ask?"
"Oh cos maybe you'd be gone by the time I wake up and I don't want that." As much as she loved his company, Wendy thought she might just go after dinner.
And so after they had dinner and sat down talking to each other, Wendy got up.
"I think I better get going Tom," she said adjusting her dress
"What...where are you going?" It surprised Thomas that Wendy wanted to leave.
"I'm thinking you won't give me too much attention and like I said, I don't want to wake up
and find you're not there."
"But I've switched off my phone for the weekend and so no work" he replied looking surprisingly at her.
"It's not what you want..I know that,"
"Jesus..how do you know that?" Wendy had already picked up her bag and was heading straight for the door.
"Hey wait don't do that Wendy. You just got here," he said quickly grabbing her bag and taking it away from her. She stood staring at him as he did that.
"Do you really want me to stay Tom?" she asked looking straight at him with seriousness. Thomas was quietly looking at her and terribly surprised that they were starting out like this.
But Wendy had her reason for wanting to leave. When she asked him why he took long on the phone, she felt he had partially told her a lie by telling her it was all work. She felt there was someone else. Some other woman.
"I want you to stay, Wendy?" he said taking her hand and holding it. Wendy looked straight into his eyes as he held her.
"Tell me you mean it"
"What?"
"Tell me it's what you really want and I'll be yours the whole weekend,"
"Wendy how could I say no. I mean I've been expecting this all my life...I mean.." his voice trailed off into a sudden silence as
Wendy came closer to him and placed her hands around his shoulders and then took her right fore finger and placed it on his lips preventing him from saying whatever he wanted to say.
She pressed her lips against his and then they started kissing, Soon they started taking each others clothes off and throwing them all around the sitting room. From the sitting room they ended up in the bedroom having s*x.
When it was over Thomas quickly got up and went to the bathroom carrying his phone with him as he went. Once inside he switched it on. An incoming message beep got his attention. It was Diane.
'New developments, I need to see you right away.'
