Damian's Pov
"Damian, wait for me." Ember breathed heavily as she called out to me.
"Should we take a rest, you look miserable." I frowned as I turned to look at her.
"Nope, I'm fine!" Ember shook her head as she managed to Walk towards me while breathing heavily.
Since I had changed my mind and agreed to help her get stronger, I had to train her stamina and ask her to come along with me to the cliff. Even though I was trying to persuade her to rest, she refused wanting to prove to me that she had enough stamina which made me smile.
Her actions were just too childish, well, it was all for her body. But then exhaustion was not good and we both knew it, but she wasn't listening to me.
The place where I would cut the herb was at the top of the cliff, so most times I would cut a large amount so I wouldn't need to come back which was quite helpful.
Looking back at Ember who was breathing heavily, I shook my head and sighed. She was just too stubborn for her good and I could tell she was so damn tired, but then she wouldn't listen to me.
"Alright, we should rest before we continue," I sighed as I looked for a spot to sit.
Since we were climbing up the hill, there were a lot of large stones and it was very easy to find a spot to sit and rest.
"Did I do well?" Ember smiled as she looked at me expectantly.
"Well then, I'm quite shocked with your determination, you should have no problems in training your body since you have this much endurance." I smiled.
I wasn't trying to praise her, I was just saying what I thought.
"Since you know this, then why did you refuse to teach me at first?" Ember sighed as she looked at me.
"Well then, I have my reasons for not wanting to teach you and I'd prefer you'll not ask as I've told you the day before." I sighed as I shook my head slowly.
"No, you've not said it, you just refused to reach me saying that you just felt like it." Ember frowned as she glared at me.
"Well, then I'd suppose you still wouldn't be getting anything out of me today." I chuckled and rested my head on another stone while closing my eyes.
I was slightly tired, it had been long since I took my medication so the poison in my body was beginning to have some effects. Even though they were not visible, it was able to cause me some fatigue.
"Damian, just tell me, I promise I'll not tell anyone." Ember pleaded as she looked at me.
"Nope." I declined turning my head away from her.
"Please." Ember pleaded.
"Nope." I shook my head as I declined.
"Please."
"Nope." I smiled as I declined again.
Ember was persistent and the way she was looking at me with her big eyeballs wanted to make me laugh and give in to her request.
If I would tell her the reason, then, I'd have to tell her about my past, but then I wasn't ready to reveal my past to anyone.
"Fine." Ember suddenly muttered as she stood up angrily.
"Where are you going?" I frowned as I sat up looking at her.
"I'll be hiking to the top myself." Ember snorted.
"Well then are you sure about that?" I chuckled as I looked at her.
"Well then watch if you don't believe me." Ember fumed.
"Let's make a bet." I smiled as I stared at her.
"You'll tell me all I want to hear if you lose." Ember frowned as he spoke up even before I could say anything.
"Well then, you'll stop disturbing me to tell you what I don't wish to disclose to you." I smiled as I looked at her.
"Fine," Ember muttered as she looked at me.
"Well then, this is the bet," I smirked as I looked at her.
"Hike up and back to this point without stopping throughout the journey, then I'll agree to your conditions."
"Humph!" Ember snorted as she looked at me.
"The top is not that far, I can easily reach it in about thirty minutes."
"Well then do you think you'll be able to last thirty minutes?" I chuckled as I stared at her.
"What do you mean?" Ember frowned.
"Well then even though you feel as though you are strong, you still need to be careful, you'll pass out if you stress yourself more than you should." Sighed as I explained patiently.
"Besides, from this point onwards, you'll be seeing snakes and all other animals and if you're not careful, you might get bitten by the snake."
"Huh,?" Ember froze as she looked at me.
"Well then stop staring at me that way, I just merely told you the dangers of you wanting to continue with the hike yourself." I shrugged as I closed my eyes.
"Fine!" Ember muttered as she stamped her feet on the floor in annoyance.
Looking at Ember, I shook my head and sighed, I was sure that in about a week or so she would be in good shape, and then she should be strong enough to withstand the pain from her transformation.
Besides I was just trying to keep her safe, if she knew more than what she knew now about me,I couldn't guarantee there'll be no troubles.
For a moment, I allowed all kinds of thoughts to roam through my mind. To me that was the best as I couldn't think of anything else.
"When are we leaving?" Ember suddenly frowned as she looked at me.
"Now." I sighed as I stood up.
I had originally stopped to rest because I knew she was tired and wouldn't want to say it. But then now that she had spoken, there was no need again.
"Let's go." I sighed as I got up slowly.
"Ember keep in mind, this is just elementary training, you'll be going through hell as we don't have enough time."
