Ember's Pov
I didn't know how long I had slept, nor did I want to know, but the ray of the sun shining right into my eyes forced me to open them.
Yawning Loudly, I sat up on the bed and looked around only to notice that Damian was not in the cottage. Where the hell had he gone?
Immediately, I jumped off the bed as I was feeling better. The pains raking through my body the day before had all disappeared, well it seemed like the medicine Damian forced me to drink worked.
But wait, I didn't sleep on the bed last night. I was annoyed with Damian and decided to sleep on the floor. How the hell had I woken up on the bed?
Thinking about it carefully, I realized that Damian must have put me on the bed.
"Tch!"
I couldn't help but click my tongue angrily, I was still annoyed with him for declining my request. However, I still wondered what I could do to make him teach me. I knew there had to be something.
Pushing all thoughts to the back of my mind, I walked out of the cottage to look for him as I was sure he would be outside.
Stepping out of the cottage, the sun was already up, and Damian was by the river, it seemed like he was drinking water.
"You're up already." Damian smiled as he raised his head to look at me.
"Humph!" I snorted coldly, looking away from him.
"That's your meat, eat it now, or else you won't be able to eat once it's cold." Damian smiled pointing at a spot.
Just as I wanted to deny, my stomach churned loudly making me shut my mouth and I had no other choice but to walk towards the meat to eat it.
It was the same size as he had given me the day before. It seemed like he knew I couldn't eat much. Well, then I couldn't help but feel warm in my heart.
In no time I was done gobbling down the meat and I couldn't help but give a satisfactory sigh.
"Here you go." Damian's voice came as he passed me a cup of water.
"Thanks," I muttered while collecting the cup from him.
"So have you changed your mind?" I asked, looking eagerly at him even though I knew what his reply would be.
"Fine, I agree, I'll teach you." Damian's words drifted into my ears.
"Huh?" I froze, not believing my ears. Did he just agree like that?
No, I had to be dreaming, it couldn't be real. I had spent almost half of my day the day before begging him and yet, he agreed easily now. What could have been the reason he changed his mind?
"Are you trying to play with my mind?" I frowned, staring at me.
"Nope." Damian smiled as he looked at me.
At that moment I became dumbfounded and I didn't know what to say. What the hell was going on? I just couldn't understand. No matter how much I tried to understand, I just couldn't bring myself to understand.
It was as if something was preventing me from understanding what was happening.
"I..."
"Don't you want to take your revenge?" Damian interrupted me as I smiled.
"But you said you didn't want me to take revenge.?" I frowned asking a question instead of replying.
"Yeah, but I changed my mind." Damian shrugged as he turned away from me.
"Or you've given up"
"Nope," I replied hurriedly, afraid he was going to change his mind as I couldn't afford it.
"Since that's the case, prepare yourself to go through hellish training." Damian smiled as he turned back to look at me.
I couldn't help but shudder to see his smile, it was just too creepy.
"What are we going to begin with?" I frowned.
"Training your stamina." Damian smiled as he walked towards the cottage.
"The next full moon would be in a week plus, I'm afraid you'll get your first transformation then, you need to train your body to be strong enough to withstand the pain." He continued as he walked into the cottage.
"Huh?"
I froze as I couldn't understand how he was able to figure it out. I couldn't even tell when my first transformation was going to occur and yet, he was able to deduce it perfectly.
It seemed like the secret he was hiding was greater than I had thought. There were many questions in my mind at the moment, but I knew he wasn't going to tell me what I wanted to hear even if I asked so I could only keep them to myself.
"Are you ready for the first round of training?" Damian's voice came bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah," I nodded feeling rather energetic since he had agreed to help.
"Then we'll be climbing that cliff," Damian smiled pointing at the cliff right behind the forest.
I couldn't help but shudder to see the cliff, wasn't there the Cliff of Etretat where I was thrown down and left to die?
"That's the twin cliff, a very interesting name right?" Damian's voice interrupted my thoughts and I couldn't help but sigh in relief hearing the name of the cliff.
It was at that moment I realized that the Cliff of Etretat was rather far from here and I couldn't help but relax. All my panic was just for nuts.
"What are we going to do there?" I frowned, feeling rather suspicious.
"We'll be picking up some herbs, so I'll use that Chance to train your endurance." Damian shrugged as if it was just a simple matter.
"Fine let's go." I frowned, wanting to prove to Damian that he was not as weak as he had imagined.
"No need to rush, Ember." Damian smiled, "We'll be going eventually."
I couldn't help but nod as I turned around to take a good look at our surroundings. It was at that moment I noticed that the forest we were in was between two cliffs.
No wonder Damian had called the cliff he pointed at just now the twin cliff. It turned out there was one right behind us and we were submerged in the Middle.
But looking at the way the place was, it was a very good hiding spot and I couldn't help but think that Damian was trying to hide from something.
If my speculation was true, then what the hell was Damian hiding from? It seemed like there was a lot I needed to know.
"Ember, let's go." Damian's voice came interrupting my thoughts.
I nodded as I tagged along with Damian who was already in front.
