Chapter Three
The weekend went like a blur. After a night as spicy as that one, everything else just seemed bland to Chloe. Nothing else compared to having a rich, handsome stranger approach you in a New York night club and offer for you to elope. Chloe spent Saturday and Sunday mulling over his offer, over and over again, unable to come to a conclusion.
On one side, her rational mind warned her not to. She didn't know much about this guy except for the details he had given her that night, it could be dangerous. On the other side, she wanted to let go for once. Do something crazy. All her life she had played it safe, which was exactly how she ended up working a boring job on Wall Street, this was her chance to break out of routine, even if it was for a little while.
On Monday morning, Chloe sat at her desk, still radiating with the glow of her encounter with Dominic. She adjusted her computer screen, pretending to be engrossed in work, but her mind drifted off to their magical night constantly, distracting her from the charts she was supposed to be watching.
Alexia, her bubbly and supportive friend, approached her desk, he blonde hair tied in a tight ponytail.
"Okay Chloe, spill it."
Chloe looked up, her eyebrows raised, "Spill what?"
"Why are you looking so happy? What's tickling your fancy so much?"
Chloe blushed, "Whatever do you mean Alexia?"
"Chloe, you look positively radiant! What happened last night? Spill the details!"
Chloe grinned sheepishly, unable to hide her happiness any longer. Blushing fiercely, she swiveled out of her desk to face Alexia, "Well, Alexia, I met someone incredible at the nightclub. His name is Dominic. We connected instantly, and he's offered to take me on a vacation!"
Alexia's eyes widen with excitement, "You have got to be kidding."
Chloe shrugged, trying to hide her smile, "I am not Alexia, I promise you."
Alexia perched on her desk, her eyes shining with excitement, "A vacation? Chloe, that's amazing! You deserve some time off to relax and have fun."
"Uh, I don't know yet Lexie."
Alexia looked at her, like she had finally lost her mind, "What do you mean you don't know yet? Please don't tell me you are considering rejecting him."
Chloe shrugged, "We just met, I don't know ANYTHING about him."
"Nonsense." She said, rolling her eyes. "You should absolutely take him up on his offer."
Chloe nods, a mixture of excitement and uncertainty swirling within her. "You think so?" She asked, a tunge of nervousness in her voice, "I mean, it's all happening so fast. But there's something about Dominic that feels right."
Alexia squeezed Chloe's shoulder, "Chloe, life is too short to second-guess happiness."
"What are you? The Dalai Lama?" Chloe joked, giggling.
"Oh shut up," Alexia said dismissively, "You deserve to embrace this adventure. Go out there, explore new experiences, and let yourself be carried away by the magic of love. Take the leap!"
"Love is a little bit too strong."
Alexia rolled her eyes, handing her the phone, "Just do it, call him now and do it."
Feeling reassured by her friend's words, Chloe took a deep breath and made her decision.
"You're right, Alexia. I'm going to seize this opportunity. I'm going to request a sick leave from my boss and let Dominic know that I'm coming."
Alexia squealed with delight, clapping her hands in excitement.
Chloe grabs her phone from the desk, summoning up the courage to make the call.

He had sounded relieved when she told him, as though he had been expecting her to refuse. He immediately told her to wait for him downstairs in front of the office as he was coming to pick her up.
Alexia had insisted on seeing her off as soon as she broke the news to her. Chloe had resisted quickly, Alexia could be a little dramatic sometimes.
Just as Chloe was about to step into the sleek black car parked by the curb, she noticed a familiar face running towards her. It was David, one of her colleagues from work, holding her purse in his hand. Surprised, she paused and smiled gratefully as he caught up to her.
"Chloe, wait! You forgot your purse in the office," David panted, holding it out to her. "I didn't want you to go without it. Have a great vacation!"
Chloe's smile widened as she took her purse from David's outstretched hand. "Thank you so much, David! I can't believe I forgot it. You're a lifesaver!"
As she climbed into the car, her heart sank a little when she noticed Dominic's stern expression. He had witnessed the whole exchange with David and was clearly agitated.
"Who was that guy, Chloe?" Dominic's voice was laced with anger, his eyes fixed on her.
Surprised by his sudden aggression, Chloe's brows furrowed. "Dominic, calm down. That was just David, a colleague from work. He was returning my purse. There's nothing to be upset about."
Dominic's grip on the steering wheel tightened, and his jaw clenched. "I don't want you associating with him anymore. He seems too interested in you."
Chloe's surprise turned into concern, her voice tinged with disbelief. "Dominic, that's ridiculous. We literally just met."
"And you are already meeting other guys?"
"DOMINIC!" She yelled, anger blazing in her eyes.
The tension in the car was palpable as Dominic's anger simmered. The drive to the airport was accompanied by an uncomfortable silence, broken only by the sound of their breathing and the occasional honking of horns.
As they reached the airport, Dominic parked the car and turned to face Chloe. His eyes softened, and his voice carried a hint of remorse. "Chloe, I'm sorry. I've been under a lot of stress lately, and I shouldn't have taken it out on you. It was wrong of me to react like that."
Chloe looked into Dominic's eyes, searching for sincerity. She could see the remorse etched on his face. Taking a deep breath, she reached out and held his hand. "I understand that stress can affect us, Dominic. I forgive you. But please remember, trust and communication are essential in our relationship."
A sense of relief washed over Dominic's face as he squeezed her hand gently. "Thank you, Chloe. I promise I'll work on controlling my emotions better. Let's enjoy our vacation and make beautiful memories."
Chloe nodded, a smile returning to her lips. "Where are we going then?" She asked.
"To my parent's"
She raised her eyebrows "Oh really? Where."
He smiled at her, looking into her eyes, "You will see."
"Dominic, this is a private hangar." She said, "They hadn't gone through the gate of the airport to the terminal, they had driven to a private hangar. That was weird.
He chuckled heartily, getting out of the car and holding out his hands for her, "Well, I have a private Jet."
