Chapter Five. Chloe spent all night in the cell, sobbing until her eyes were too dry to let out anymore tears. "Let me out of here!" At a time she started to scream her lungs out. She would wait a bit, then proceed. When it got tiring and no one was there to listen to her, she relented. Dawn came before she knew it, announced only by the heavy footsteps of the other werewolf guard that had been there the previous evening. "Nap time is over," he growled, rapping impatiently against the bars that held her captive. "The Alpha wants your decision." The statement sank in. "That's the reason he has this aura on him, it was suffocating, it is no wonder." She thought to herself before voicing out. "The Alpha." She muttered to herself, getting up groggily, She was really in a different world, far away from the streets of New York. From her life, from her friends. She had been captured by freaking werewolves. "Well?" The guard called out impatient, knocking her out of her epiphany, "I don't have all day." She swallowed heavily, she really didn't have much of a choice. "Tell your Alpha." She said, her voice dry and cracking from all he crying, "I will do it." It was not like she has a choice, all of those has been taken from her the moment she stepped foot into this cells. What she doesn't appreciate was the fact that they were being forceful. "Is this how it's supposed to be? Is an alpha supposed to be feared? Or not Considerate?" She asked within herself. She dared not voice out, that would be treasonous and might being death onto her. This was it. Her former life was gone, this Dominic had snatched it away from her. And as the the footsteps of the wolf receded to deliver the message to his Alpha, Chloe couldn't help but feel like Doctor Faust. She had just made a deal with the devil, and the consequences were hers alone to deal with. * * * "This will be your quarters, this is the dress, do well to stay near all the time, okay?" The instructor she was assigned told Chloe as she was led to a room and handed some piece of clothings. It was small then what he would normally wear, but she couldn't say a word. That choice was once again taken from her. Chloe, dressed in her maid uniform, moved swiftly through the bustling kitchen of the Royal Manor. She has been working diligently as a Royal Maid for a few weeks now, determined to prove herself despite the pain of Dominic's betrayal still lingering in her heart. Despite the Betrayal, she couldn't help but think that there has to be a reason for Dominic to behave like this. "We were doing so well." She mused as she cleaned, but that was all she could do. Think. With nothing to do to get herself out of her current predicament. As she walked into the kitchen, she found herself amused at the irony of forcing a her to dress in the threads of a maid. "Great Chloe," she thought to herself, "All that effort at school just to become an ordinary maid." The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air as Chloe carefully poured the hot liquid into the delicate porcelain cup. Her hands trembled slightly, both from nerves and the weight of her emotions. She took a deep breath, wishing to maintain her composure. "You can do this, Chloe." She thought "Just focus and be careful." At a certain level, she felt shame and disappointment. A couple of weeks ago she was on top of the world, living her best life with a good job and a nice life. All that had changed, because of a stupid decision. Chloe felt angry, at herself for being stupid, and Dominic for being a lying freak and weirdly enough, at Alexia for even convincing her to go on this stupid, stupid vacation. If she ever got out of this alive, she was going to rip her ears out. As she carried the tray with the steaming cup towards Dominic's study, her heart raced. Every encounter with him since she had accepted his deal had been a tense, nerve wracking experience for her, she never looked forward to any of it. She knocked softly on the door and entered, finding Dominic engrossed in some paperwork. He glanced at her, as though to just acknowledge her presence before gesturing at his table, "Finally, my coffee." He said casually, "Place it on the side table." Chloe set the tray down and reached for the cup, her fingers barely grazing the edge. In a sudden moment of clumsiness, she lost her grip, and watched in terror, time itself almost slowing down as the hot liquid spilt onto Dominic's lap. She felt her soul leave her body at that moment. "Oh no! I'm so sorry, Dominic! I didn't mean to--" Dominic jerked away, yelling in frustration, "Enough!" He stared at her, "You stupid b***h, you can't do ANYTHING right!" Chloe's face turned pale, horrified by her mistake. She stammered but struggled to find words. "f**k!" He swore, making her jump. Chloe panicked, terror rising in her voice, "I...I'm sorry, Dominic. I'll clean it up right away. It was an accident, I swear." He shoved her off roughly, "Leave! Now!" "No!" She stood her ground, trying to figure him out, but his face remained emotionless. "What is it that you fear so much." She moved closer to him, but that was the peak of it all for him. He moved closer to her, his face contorted in pure anger, while pointing his fingers to the door, he repeated, "Leave! now!" Chloe jumped, and stared at him, confused, "I am sorry, I can ju-" "You have done enough." He spat, his eyes blazing. "I want you to leave this place and never come back." He kept eyes contact all through to show he meant every words. She gasped.
