Rosaline's pov
As we reached our destination, I can't help but gape at the building in front of me. I got no words to describe how exquisite it looks, surrounded by clear glass walls making the glass reflex as the sun hits it. And compared to how tall the building is, my height looks the size of an ant standing in front of an elephant.
Layla started to drag me inside as my feet started to feel not in my control. Pushing the massive glass door for us, I noticed that Layla put her professional face on, making her look more stiff and serious compared on how she looks back when she's at home, well in fact she's not the only one, as everyone I mean every single one looks the same.
Taking my surrounding in, I can't help but feel insecure as I started to feel that I don't fit in, which is actually true but I can't back out now.
''Layla, I know it's not the perfect time to ask you this question but how many floor is this building?'' I question while I stopped walking and look at her with my head slightly tilted to the right as I wait for her response.
''70 floors.'' she replied again taking my hand and start walking but I can't help but squeal just by thinking how beautiful the view would be at the top floor and everyone passing us looked at me questioning but I paid no heed.
''Please, behave yourself, Rosaline'' Layla hissed widening her eyes at me as we get inside of the elevator.
''We're going to the top floor as Mr. Rivera will be the one who will take your interview. So please I'm begging you to control that mouth of yours.'' she muttered looking so helpless.
''what exactly is the post, Lay Lay.'' I question her dumbly making her sigh.
''For god sake, Rosaline don't call me that name especially here.'' She hissed looking behind her as if to check whether someone heard it which fortunately no one did as all of them are busy minding their own business. Lay Lay is what I call her since our childhood and she used to loved it but now she despise it.
''And to answer your question, you're applying for the secretary post'' She added making me frown.
''But I don't think I'm qualified for that post.'' I stated.
''I know you're not, my dear sister but, Mr. Rivera was kind enough to let you waste his precious time just because I requested him to give you any job and to your luck the post was empty'' she said facing me and take both of hands into her.
''Please, don't do anything that will tarnish my reputation here.'' She whispered.
''oh come on, Lay Lay, you worry a lot. chill I won't mess it up this time.'' I responded making her sigh as the elevator dinged indicating that we reached our floor.
The first thing that I noticed when I got out of the elevator is that how empty this floor looks compared to the very first floor but it looks marvellous though.
''why is it so empty here?'' I ask voicing my thoughts to Layla. ''Because only few workers are allowed here, what I mean to say is that only the CEO, personal assistant, receptionist and some selected workers are here.'' Layla answered as she walk ahead of me with the only sound of our heels can be heard.
My heart starts to beat inside my chest and my hands shaking. I have to get this job no matter what. This is my only chance of proving myself to my mother that I'm not an airhead and I'm capable of doing things like an adult I am.
Reaching the end of the hall, a closed double doors came in our view. we walk towards it and Layla knocked at the door.
After hearing a small 'come in', Layla lead me inside only after she grasp my hand tight, silently telling me not to mess it up.
Getting inside, Layla greeted a black haired man sitting behind the desk with his back facing us as he watch the view from the outside through the glass window. While I squint my eyes together wanting to see his face.
''Mr. Rivera, Thank you so much for giving my sister a chance, it really means a lot sir'' Layla remarked.
''It's totally fine, Miss bernardes that's the least I can do to return back your faithful service that you gave for this company.'' Says the guy in his smooth manly voice, turning towards us but the spectacular view at my side caught my attention making me walk towards it absently but Layla grabbed my arm stopping me.
Layla points at the man's direction with her eyes and the moment I look over his direction causing my breath to hitch in my throat.
