Haru paced forth and back in his room with the paper in his hand. He grabbed it tightly hoping he can do something to save her.
Were two weeks enough for him to do something? As he kept on thinking about what he could do, he realized that he did not even know her name. He only knew that she was in one of his classes; English Literature. There was nothing else in his vision that could provide him guidance on how to proceed. He just knew the limited time he had. He sat on his bed and checked the time. It was 10:30 pm. He had an assignment to submit in two days. He was usually careful and made sure of completing assignments a day or two earlier so that it did not stress him out. He originally planned to complete it today but there was no way he could focus on it right now.
As he laid down on his bed, the desire and the need to save the woman was growing extremely intense. He felt helpless because he did not know what to do. He scrolled through his social media in an attempt to find the woman in a module (English Literature) group that they studied together but to no success.
He let out a sigh.
“What should I do?” he groaned.
He turned off the lights and got into bed. He set an alarm at 8 am tomorrow to get some work and thinking done before going to college. As he was pretty tired from all the thinking and stressing, his eyes were closing. As he fell into sleep, all he could think about was the beautiful woman that he wanted to save.
- It was a beautiful morning with sun rays shining through the trees and it felt calm and soothing. A blue car was parked in the isolated place. A woman was standing leaning on the car with a cigarette in between her fingers. She was staring away at something Haru could not see. He could not help but notice how beautiful she was. She had long wavy hair let loose on the right side of her shoulder. Her bangs covered her right eye. Haru could see how sad her left blue eye looked. A beautiful cherry blossom tree was in the direction she was staring at. Haru walked towards her and she looked at him. Haru talked to her but she turned around and got into her car. As she turned around, Haru caught a glimpse of a tear that fell from her eyes. At this moment, the car and the woman were suddenly far away from Haru. And in a second, the cherry blossom tree near him withered and the car was wrecked with the woman dead inside.
Haru woke up with tears rolling down his cheeks and extremely painful heartache. He clutched his heart and took in deep breaths. No doubt, this was a vision. It had never happened before. He did not get visions about the same event or a situation. He grabbed the water bottle on the bedside table and drank it.
Haru was confused.
He touched his head and mumbled, “What does this mean? What is it signaling?”
As he racked his brain for the answer, he realized that this was what he was asking for; guidance. With these repeating visions about the woman, it can help him to make plans to save her.
"But wait, is it a repeating vision? I have read about visions that can repeat and act as guidance but it is extremely rare. I do hope it is this" Haru said to himself.
He checked the time. It was 2:30 am. All his sleepiness vanished as hopes of being able to save the woman became reachable with the vision.
Then he started to analyze the vision. "So later, before college starts, she will be there at the isolated place. I think I have been there because it is just below the way to the college. If I remember correctly, I went for a smoke there. She will be there smoking, but if I try to talk to her it will lead to her death. I wonder why. I will be there but I will not talk to her. I hope this can lead to a path where she does not die.”
"I will get there by 9:30 am", Haru smiled as he thought of being able to see her. The more he thought about her, the more he felt drawn towards her. It filled him with happiness with this mere thought of being able to see her.
But somewhere deep down, he felt that with her it will be a painful but one beautiful journey. He just did not want to accept it, not at the moment.
It was 3 am but sleep was nowhere near him. He just laid on the bed and turned on the lights. He opened his laptop and started on his assignment.
Even with the thought about the woman in the back of his head, he was able to concentrate on his assignment. By the time he had completed it, it was 7:30 am. He got out of the bed for a shower. After which he got ready and packed his books in his bag.
“Come for breakfast sweetie”, his mother called him. He replied, “Okay mom” and went to the dining table. As he sat down, he felt his mother’s gaze on him.
He looked at her and asked, “Is everything fine mom?” as he started eating his cereal.
She answered with a question, “You recently had a vision, haven’t you?”
Haru froze, with the spoon in midair. Somehow, his mother always knew when he has visions. Even though, he did not inherit it from her. She always knew. He did not want to worry her. As he was about to lie to her, she spoke. "I know you had it, and it seems quite different from the last one. I just want to tell you to be careful. Whatever happens, you need to be strong okay?”
Haru did not expect to hear that. He looked at his mother and smiled. He replied, “Okay mom, I will be careful. So do not worry about it”.
He then finished his breakfast and left for the isolated place.
