Francesca Tosetto and VeniceThere were two strong influences in Francesca Tosetto’s life, which helped form her personality and her values: her mother, a devout Catholic with a steely personality, and her paternal grandmother, the daughter of two partisans, who had been blessed with a sunny disposition and the ability to make light of even the most serious situations.
Two events also shaped Francesca. The first happened when she was fourteen: she was on an excursion with the Scouts and she’d been assigned a group of five children, all between the ages of eight and eleven. As they hiked along a trail in the Fassa Valley, she didn’t realize that one of the kids had lagged behind to pick some flowers.
