As I sat by my lunch table still shocked at what Oliver just said to me, I couldn't help but think that of all the girls that could have been chosen they decided to go for Kayla, it is not only humiliating to be seen with her, she is Jessica’s best friend which just pushes me further to the wall. Oliver picked her because he knew for a fact that I wouldn't be able to go through with it, but just what if I did?

“You are not thinking of doing it right?” Ashton asked

“I don't know man it is-”

“Jess would kill you if you tried anything with her” Mas cut me off.

Jess is overprotective when it comes to Kayla, I always pick on Kayla whenever I have an opportunity and that opportunity is when Jess is nowhere around because the last time I made fun of Kayla when Jess was there, she gave me a black eye so I never tried it again. Even just thinking of how she would react if she found out about this bet, made me shudder sending cold chills through my spine.

“I could lend you the money to pay him off, if that is the issue” Mas offered

“No that's not it, it would be losing to Oliver” disgusted by the thought alone

“That f*****g i***t, he would feel so on top of the world,” Mas said angrily

“And all this is because of that fat peasant, why did she have to bump into me today of all days” I slammed the table.

“Let's just go find him now, he will be in the locker room,” Ashton said

“Um, sorry but I'm not coming along” Mason backed out

“What do you mean, you have to come along man” I said, it wouldn't be completely humiliating if I had both of them with me.

“Sorry dude but you are on your own in this one, I would lose my mind if I get to see Oliver feeling all cocky,” Mas said, grabbing my keys from the table and walking away. I didn't bother asking because I knew where he was heading.

“What is your Apple Pay?” I asked Oliver

He let out a very long and loud laugh calling the attention of the other guys in the locker room

“I always knew you were a chicken but who knew you would chicken out of this so quickly” He loudly said wanting other teammates to hear that I wasn't going through with the bet.

“Can you cut your crap and let’s get this over with?” Ashton said already getting irritated which is a really rare sight from him but no matter what, Ashton is always but the person that can easily get him pissed is Oliver angry Ashton is what no one wants to see, he rarely gets angry but when he does it is like hell breaking loose.

I looked around the locker room and everyone's attention was already on us some were snickering while some were laughing and it made me feel somehow like I was losing my authority in the team I was just elected as the captain, my first impression as leader won't be me acting like a wuss, I thought to myself.

“And this is who was made our captain you all are in for a long one” Oliver laughed hysterically

“I can't believe that the whole Kelter would back down from a bet,” one of Oliver's followers said using his two hands to make air quotes when he said Kelter.

He opened his mouth to utter another word but I sent him a death glare making him keep shut.

“He is out just send the damn apple pay,” Ashton said and patted me so we could leave I was hesitant to leave, my ego was fighting to come out but I pushed in my pride and just walked behind him filled with both anger and shame that I lost to Oliver but I held my head high as we walked away.

“Keep it, I don't need your change” Oliver called out and I paused, I was agitated I looked at Ashton and he already had an irritated look on his face all I could imagine was the look on Mason’s face would be if he was here, he probably would have gone off on him.

Oliver had a smug look on his face so I decided to wipe it off, “You know what?” I said smiling

“What?” he asked confused as to why I was smiling

“That bet is back on, so get that change ready” I smirked

Causing the locker room to erupt with loud shouts, I didn't bother to look at Ash’s reaction because I knew he would be against it. I just stared at Oliver straight in the eyes and shouted “See you in a month succckkkeeerrr!!!!” before walking away.

“Duuudddeeee” Ash called when we got away from the noise dragging his word, I was expecting him to say something.

“You can't judge me on this one you know that” I raised my hands in defense

“It was a pretty difficult one, but I just keep getting a bad feeling about this stuff, and let's not even talk about Jessica finding out”

Ashton was scared of Jess but who can blame him when she is a really scary human being matter of fact we all were, she bullied us big time when we were still little.

“Regardless bro I just couldn't take it, Oliver was already feeling like he was boss,” I said

“For real I was on the tip already, part of me is happy you didn't back down” Ashton laughed

“Because I couldn't imagine doing a walk of shame” he added

I let out a laugh and we joked and laughed about the whole ordeal that had just gone down, I looked ahead and sighted Mason striding into the hallway with his long legs moving one after the other ahead of each other, he walked in with a whole presence like he owned the place.

“Thank you for leaving us to dry out,” I said to him

“You don't look too dried out” he laughed

“Where did you even go exactly?” Ash asked

“I went for a ride” he answered

“Dude, that is one sweet ride you’ve got,” he said to me playfully punching my shoulders

“You went for a ride? In the middle of school?” Ashton asked

“Yeah, so?” Mas answered pretending to be clueless

I wasn't even surprised one thing with Mas he is going to do whatever he wants to do.

“So how did it go with jerkface,” Mas asked referring to Oliver

“Do I need to throw hands when I see him” he added jokingly

“Well that won't be necessary, because I'm going forward with it'' I said.
