Four.

Drew closed the door to her room as fast as she could, once Noah had stepped out. He was about to say something - but she didn’t give him a chance. She locked the door, then turned to face the expansive bedroom. She had a full walk-in closet that was filled with clothes already (something she was entirely thankful for). She had a queen size four-poster bed in the center of the room that was covered in beautiful cream colored sheets and then a deep red comforter set. Her eyes roamed the room, on the only outer wall, directly across from the hallway door were two giant windows that revealed the gorgeous beach scenery below, along with the beautiful sunset. On the wall opposite to the walk-in closet was the door to her en-suite bathroom, which was almost as big as her bedroom.  But the thing that caught Drew’s attention and got her excited was a large cushioned nest like chair hanging from the ceiling near the two huge windows. She put her violin down on the bed and walked over to the chair, kicked her ratted converses off and proceeded to climb into the chair and curl into a ball. She closed her eyes and buried her face against her knees, and then just lost any composure she had left. She spent most of the night sobbing. -- Noah frowned, after her break down about being last and second - Drew hadn’t said a thing to him. He had brought her to her room as she had asked, stepped out and was about to say something when she closed the door in his face. He felt like he should have been offended, but all he felt was hurt. He understood her pain enough to know why she was lashing out and rejecting him. But he hoped she would come around. He hoped she would realize they were meant for each other - she was second to no one. She was his Luna, his queen and god be damned if he had to show her every day for the rest of their lives her worth, he would do it. He had wandered into his father’s office, without thinking too much about where he had walked. He had his arms behind his back and raised his head when his father cleared his throat. He silently walked over and sat down in the seat across from his father’s desk. “I never felt like this with Adelina.” He muttered, a little quietly. He couldn’t see it, but his father’s blue hues were trained on him, and had a jovial sort of shine to them. “Oh no?” The king asked in a manner that encouraged Noah to continue. “I want to take her suffering away, I want to make her happy, I want - no. No, father, I need to make her smile, make her laugh.” Noah raised his head to look up at his father. “I never got the intensity of the touch from Adelina that I do with Drew.” He rubbed his face and leaned back in his chair. “And her scent, it’s overwhelming. It’s a scent I only ever got faintly on Adelina…” The king chuckled. “Then perhaps, Adelina was a false mate.” He suggested. Noah’s head snapped up suddenly. “Those are myths.” He insisted. “Adelina is Drew’s older cousin, she is from the same pack, probably spent a lot of time in Drew’s presence, it has been known to happen, though very, very rarely, that a false mate could occur when an imprint of your actual mate is on another she-wolf.” The king glanced out the large window before looking back at his son. “I’d even venture to say that Drew has always been your true mate.” Yes. YES. YES. SHE IS OUR MATE. OUR MATE. Hunter was losing his s**t in Noah’s mind, signalling that his father was certainly onto something. Noah inhaled and sighed. “And how would I prove that to her, then? Everyone around the world was told Adelina was my mate. How would Drew possibly believe me if I said that it was her from the start?” Rian got an inquisitive look on his face. He then stood up and walked around his desk. He reached down and rested his hands on his son’s shoulders. “I have already begun to look into this matter. You just work on spending time with your future queen and bride. The wedding is in a few days.” He smiled to Noah. Noah stared up at his father with wide eyes, “You’re not going to let Drew relax before thrusting that on her?” He felt a small growl rip from his throat, as Hunter was definitely not pleased either. Rian shook his head. “I’m sorry my boy, the elders have demanded your ceremony be done under the Eclipse, to strengthen the kingdom that much more. I have no say in trying to postpone such things.” Noah sighed. He glanced to the side and then he whispered, “What if she won’t ever love me?” Rian’s eyes widened, a little shocked his son was being this vulnerable with him. “What makes you think your mate would never love you?” Rian arched a brow. Noah glanced at his father. He then sighed. “Adelina.” He muttered under his breath, reluctant to admit that woman had destroyed any true confidence he may have had. Rian sighed. “Noah, let Hunter go for a run. But be back before sunrise, at the least.” Noah looked up at his father, for a moment he wasn’t sure what to say, but he nodded and stood, exiting the office quietly. A run in the night would probably help clear his mind.
