Drew had tensed. She stared up at Noah with wide eyes. She should’ve known he’d be able to sense it in her. But she had prayed he wouldn’t. She prayed no one would notice that she wasn’t completely wolf. That there was another half of her. A half she couldn’t even touch, no matter how hard she tried. She let out a strangled sound. “Noah I -” She didn’t think when she spoke, being informal with him. But it didn’t matter, because a few seconds later, Noah had his lips on her and he had pulled her up against his body, holding her as close as he possibly could. Drew didn’t fight him. She could feel Roxie rejoicing at the touch, at the hold Noah had on her. She let out a soft moan, unable to stop it. She reached up and brushed her hands over his bare, muscular chest. She whimpered before pushing him away. Her senses finally caught up to the situation. “I have to go welcome my family.” She whispered, very quietly. “Alone.” She added. She walked swiftly towards the palace, ignoring the intensity of Drew’s eyes on her. She stepped inside the building and quickly made her way up the stairs to her room on the third floor, once inside she quickly changed her clothes, placing Noah’s shirt on her bed. She hummed as she moved to the closet to look for something to wear. Then a woman walked in, startling Drew. She jumped and almost fell over. The young girl, probably not more than twenty-two, chuckled. She wore a pair of black dress pants and a black button up shirt that was tucked into her pants. She also had a badge on the right side of her chest hanging from a clip attached to her shirt. The Badge had a picture of her face, underneath it was her name. Galilee Ilves. Underneath that was her title; Head Lady-in-Waiting. “I’m sorry for the sudden appearance and startling you, ma’am.” Galilee dipped her head in a submissive pose. “I am here to help you bathe and dress.” She looked up at Drew, her brows knitted together, then she chuckled. “I’m sure you read the badge, but please call me Gal. I’d much prefer it to my full name.” Drew inspected Gal a little more, her features. She had darker skin than Drew, though not a deep brown color, it was like a mixture of mocha and caramel. She had slightly slanted eyes, her irises were a deep brown, almost appearing black. She had long black hair, that Drew was sure would cascade down past her buttocks if it were down, but alas, it was tied up in a tight bun; clearly straightened from its natural tight curls.  “Uhm… okay.” Drew nodded a bit, letting Gal lead her to the bathroom. She left Drew in a hot bubble bath to relax. Drew closed her eyes and settled into the water. Her mind started to wander, and Noah’s face became prominent in her vision, forcing the black of her eyelids away. His smile, the way he held her on the beach, the way he kissed her. Drew let out a soft hiss as she slid her hand along her side. The mere image of him incited heat to spread through her being, seeping into her pores and swallowing her senses. She chewed her lower lip as her hand slowly slid further down her body.... -- Noah stood stiffly by his father’s side at the throne. Kaloni was on the other side of their father with Walker next to her, his left arm loosely resting around Kaloni’s waist. Noah eyed the group that entered the throne room. He let out a small displeased sound when he saw Adelina strut in, smirking in his direction as if she hadn’t rejected him and humiliated him. King Rian cleared his throat and tapped his foot on the floor. Thus, all attention now fell on him and him alone. The King gestured grandly towards the pack. “Greetings, I welcome the Green Apple Pack to my abode.” His voice had hinted amused and slightly disgusted by their ridiculous choice in name. Just because they were located near the ‘Big Apple’ didn’t mean they had to have such a ridiculous pack name to match. “We have accommodations awaiting you at one of the minor guest houses, where you shall stay for the duration. I hope you enjoy your time here, and remember not to incur my wrath.” His eyes had fallen on Adelina, then trailed to her father; the Alpha. He stared him down. It seemed, the Alpha of the pack didn’t want to submit towards Rian. As they stared at each other, the eye contact unyielding. It wasn’t until the doors opened and Gal stepped into the room that the Alpha broke his stare down. Everyone’s attention turned towards the doorway. Noah’s breath caught in his throat. He had never thought she could be any more beautiful but f**k, his mate was a goddess in her own right. Drew stepped into the room. She had minimal makeup on, though her eyeshadow was a smokey bronze-golden color. Her long brown hair was curled and cascaded around her shoulders. She was in a drop dead gorgeous bronze cocktail dress. It had spaghetti straps and a deep v shaped neckline that plunged between her breasts. The dress hugged onto her torso before flaring out slightly around her hips, though it rested comfortably back on her legs. And those legs. f**k. Noah inhaled sharply and stared at them, gorgeous, sexy legs. He didn’t mean to, but he growled. And everyone seemed to notice. All eyes were suddenly on Noah, including Drew’s. He didn’t look anywhere though, except at her; he ignored all the stares from the pack, the confused look on many of their faces. Drew let out a breath, then held her head high. She walked the length of the room; brushing past her father and uncle, who both looked gobsmacked. Drew walked up towards the throne. Noah extended his hand out and she quickly took it. He helped her up until she was standing by his side near his father. He slid his arm around her waist, pulling her into his side. Drew let out a soft breath as warmth spread through, rushing through her veins from the spots he was touching her. She absently leaned into the crown prince’s touch. Her eyes fell on her cousin, who seemed to seethe in pure anger at the sight. She now gave Adelina a smug smile. The King suddenly cleared his throat, his eyes trailing over the group before him and his kin. He raised a hand. “I would like the Alpha and Drew’s father to step forward.” When they did, Noah realized something, almost immediately. The two men were twins - spitting images of each other. They had short blonde hair and crystal clear blue eyes. They stood incredibly tall. They were also very pale. So much so that… When he looked at the woman adorned in a beautiful bronze dress next to him, her tan skin a stark contrast to almost the entirety of the pack before him, it finally occurred to him. “You aren’t her real pack.” Noah said aloud, a growl followed. His eyes narrowed on the Alpha of the pack. But the Alpha, once again, didn’t back down from the staring contest, the fight for dominance. It was as though the man thought he could prove to the world that he should be king. And the thought started to enrage Noah. “So, where did you steal my bride from?” He snarled. He felt Hunter starting to prickle in the back of his mind, growling and snarling like a feral wolf. He had to clench his jaw to stop from shifting. Drew seemed to tense next to Noah. She turned her head to him and reached up. She rested her hand on his shoulder, causing him to barely begin to rest.  Noah’s eyes stayed focused on the scene in front of him, the pack that had no true relation to his mate, but had abused her. He got that when Drew had lashed out on him, his jaw clenched tightly. But another growl caused him to be startled. He looked over and saw his father was on his feet. Guards had come into the room and surrounded the pack. Noah had been so focused on the pack, he’d shut out the mind link of his own pack. “SPEAK.” King Rian demanded. “EXPLAIN YOURSELVES. OR I SHALL LOSE MY TEMPER.” He roared at that point. Noah felt Drew tense up, like she was scared. He immediately reached over and slid his hand against her back, pulling her into his side tight. He wanted to make sure she knew that he was there for her. He wasn’t going anywhere. Never.
