The car ride was really silent. Lucas put his favourite song on - Hellcat by Desmeon.
"Please, Luke, put on Shake It Off!" I sulked.
I watched as a the corners of his mouth twitched up to form a devilish smirk.
"No."
"Come on, Luke! You always listen to this." I groaned. I slumped back into the black-leather seat.
I looked over at him, and started observing his features. He was to focused on the road to notice I was looking at him.
Sigh.
He was so dream-worthy.
"Still up for movie night, Lee?" Luke asked me, now looking at me since we were at a traffic light.
His interogating gaze made my cheeks burn. I didn't want Luke to see me blushing, so I looked out the window. Then, when I collected myself together, I looked at him. Then I smiled.
"Yep." I replied, popping the 'p'.
He smiled at me before turning his attention to the road.

Once he parked in the students parking lot, I got out and gave him a hug.
"See you in math, Luke." I told him, pulling away.
"Yep, later, Lee." He winked at me before walking towards the school entrance.
Meanwhile, I was strolling to the field, where my best friend - from freshman year - usually waited for me. I got there and saw Tianna, sitting on the grass, plucking innocent flowers from the ground.
She noticed me and dropped all the dead flowers in her hand, standing up as well.
"Riles!" Anna exclaimed.
"Anna!" I shouted back. She pulled me into a hug, before I pulled away and we sat down on the grass.
I was the only one in the school who called Tianna 'Anna'. Most people close to me called me Riles, apart from Luke. He called me 'Lee'.
I remember the first time he called me Lee. I freaked out because it was a boys name.
-Flashback-
"Have a nice day, Riley." My mom called out. It was my first day in Middle School. I was so scared.
"Riley!" I heard a voice say. I recognized the voice in an instant - it was my best friend, Lucas.
"Hi, Luke." I smiled at him.
"Luke?" His eyebrows scrunched together.
"Yeah, that's my nickname for you from now on." I cheered.
He narrowed his eyes and smiled at the same time. He was thinking. He often does that when he's deep in thought.
"OK, Lee." He answered after a while.
Lee? Why Lee? That's was a boys name.
"That's a boys name!" I told him.
"So? Your my Lee. I'm your Luke. L and L."
"But--"
"Come on, Lee. Let's get to the reception." Luke smiled at me.
I dropped my argument about the nickname and decided to follow him.
-End Of Flashback-
"Riley!" Anna screamed at me.
Is shook my head to see Anna waving a feather near my face.
"What?" I asked.
"You zoned out. Are you OK?" Anna asked, concerned.
Oh. Well, I do blank out a lot. I love daydreaming, eating, sleeping and sometimes doing sports. That's if I get enough sleep, though.
"Yeah. Just tired. So, should we start heading to class?" I suggested.
Anna nodded and dropped the white feather on the floor. She then got out her moisturiser and proceeded to clean her hands.

After a few classes, it was finally time for maths. I started heading towards my next class - math. Math was the only class I had with Luke, aside from Pys Ed.
I quickly headed towards my locker to get out my text book on pi, since that was the current topic we were supposed to be learning.
Once I got to class, I realized Luke was already there. He looked up and saw me, before smiling and gesturing to the vacant seat next to him.
Mr. Samuels, my math teacher, didn't care about where anyone sat - he only cared if you didn't do his work or homework. He was a really laid-back teacher; most students who had him considered themselves lucky.
I sat down next to Luke, placing my book on top of my desk.
"Hi, Lee." Luke whispered to me.
I turned to look at him, to realize he was already looking at me. My heart skipped a beat and my stomach fluttered as if there were millions of butterflies flying about. I shouldn't be feeling like this, since he was my best friend after all. But I couldn't help it.
I couldn't help it.
"Hey, Luke." I greeted him back. I turned to look at the front.
Mr. Samuels eventually came in, putting his briefcase under his desk before opening up his laptop and writing the title of the lesson on the chalkboard.
My school was so old-fashioned. We had projectors, but most teachers used black-boards for the sake of using chalk.
"Now, I want everyone to turn to page thirty-four in the Mathematics For Seniors Two book. We will be doing area of cylinders, which requires pi, the magic square and the net of a cylinder." Mr. Samuels started ranting.
I did what he said and opened up my book I turned to page thirty-four when I felt a poke at my shoulder. I turned to the source and saw it was Luke. I narrowed my eyes at him and saw him struggle not to laugh.
Then he turned semi-serious, in order to talk to me.
"I left my book at home. Can we share yours?" He asked me, speaking quietly so that I could hear, but Mr. Samuels couldn't.
"Sure." I whispered back, moving the book to the middle of the desk.
He smiled at me. "Thanks."
"Alright, so, if the diameter of the cross-section is ten centimeters, and the height of the the cylinder is four centimeters, what would the area of the cylinder be?" Mr. Samuels asked.
With the exception of a few math-brainacs, nobody put their hands up. Mr. Samuels wore a grin while he looked around the room to pick someone.
"Mr. Parker, do you have an answer for me?" Mr. Samuels asked.
I prayed to the lords that Luke had something to say. Even if Mr. Samuels was a laid back teacher, he was quite strict - especially with seniors.
"Two hundred and eighty-two point seven when rounded to one decimal point, sir." Luke answered after a few seconds of thinking.
How the heck...
I nearly laughed at the startled look on Mr. Samuels face. I knew Luke was excelling in math, but to an extent to solving a calculator required question - it was beyond me.
"Correct, Mr. Parker." Announced Mr. Samuels after checking it.
I was surprised. Luke must've seen my confused expression since he looked at me and winked. He often winked at me when I was in a confused state, or when he was leaving.
**
Math seemed to drag on forever. Mr. Samuels didn't aim anymore math problems towards Luke, since he knew Luke wouldn't have a problem with answering them.
It was now lunch, and I was heading towards the usual table Anna and I sit at.
"Hi, Riles." Anna greeted me as I sat down on a chair.
"Hi, Anna." I greeted her back.
Anna bought herself an apple as well as blackcurrant juice to go along with it. The reason she barely has anything for lunch, is because her dad works at a café, so Anna gets her food there after school.
I bought myself pizza, pepperoni to be specific, a blueberry muffin as well as a bottle of water.
"Sup." A voice said. I turned around to see it was Oliver, or Oli as most people called him.
Oliver was Anna's boyfriend ever since sophomore year. And their still going strong.
They even look like an ideal couple - Anna with waist-length auburn hair, blue eyes, rosie cheeks and small lips. Freckles all over her pale skin and a nice body shape. Then Oli has dark, curly hair. He has grey eyes and a small nose. His skin is quite tanned and he's a head taller than Anna.
Overall, their a really cute couple.
Oli sat down next to Anna, kissing her once he sat down. I looked behind me, so I didn't have to see the PDA currently going on between Anna and Oli.
As I turned around, I saw Luke coming out of the lunch cue with a tray of food. He had a cheese sandwich, a bottle of apple juice as well as a chocolate muffin.
To say Luke's obsessed with chocolate, would be an understatement.
-Flashback-
"Happy birthday, Luke!" I cheered.
Luke turned around and smiled at me. I closed my eyes tightly and smiled at him, exposing my teeth. It hurt to smile, since I recently had my braces put on.
"Thanks, Lee." Luke gave me a hug.
"Why don't you give him his birthday present, Riley?" My mom suggested.
In one hand, she held a plastic bag with 3 presents I had bought for Luke. They were wrapped in a galaxy wrapping-paper, since I thought that's what boys like.
In the other hand, she held the hand of my two-year-old brother, Caleb.
I nodded at my mom, grabbing the plastic bag from her hand before handing it to Luke. I also gave him the card that was in the plastic bag also.
Luke hugged me again, as well as mumbling some thank you's. I smiled as he looked in the bag and grinned.
"Want to go outside? The bouncy castle is out there." Luke asked me.
"Sure." I replied.
Luke went into the kitchen to hand his presents to his mom. I looked around, amazed by all the snacks. The majority of the snacks were chocolate.
"Here, ma. Lee got it for me." Luke spoke to his mom.
His mom looked at me and smiled. "Did you say 'thank you' to Riley?"
"He did, Mrs. Parker." I told her.
She smiled. She put his presents in the corner of the room, saying she'll look after them until it's time for Luke to open them.
Once we got outside, I decided to ask the question the boggled my mind since we got into the kitchen.
"What's with all the chocolate?"
"I love chocolate, so my mom decided to go all out and get a bunch of chocolate snacks for the party." Luke told me.
I nodded.
Then, I ran to the bouncy castle, with Luke trailing behind me.
-End Of Flashback-
I never forgot that.
"Hey, Lee." A deep, husky voice said.
I blinked to bring my concentration back, and saw it was Luke standing in front of me.
"Hi, Luke." I said back.
He sat down next to me, putting on an amused expression when he saw the PDA in front of him.
"Well, at least we know their relationship is going strong." Luke said, facing me.
I smiled and nodded.
I seemed to be nodding a lot today.
**
I was walking out the door when I heard someone call my name. But it wasn't 'Riley' or 'Riles' but 'Lee'.
Meaning it was Luke.
I turned around to see Luke jogging towards me.
"Movie night." Luke reminded me.
I grinned like a maniac. "Movie night." I repeated.
Then Luke and I left the building and entered his 2004 Audi A4 and started heading back to our neighbourhood.
