sixteen || date time

I woke up, really tired. Thank god its Saturday. TGIS. I smiled remembering memories regarding yesterday. The wedding is probably the best thing I ever attended. Not only because I got to wear a gorgeous dress and I got to see a wedding, but because I finally started hitting it off with Luke. Three words for my situation right now: Thank you, Jesus. But then, my perfect moment of remembrance came to an end. "Riley! Hurry up, or I'll eat all your scrambled eggs!" Caleb called out. Like hell is he having my food. ** I was on my phone, trying to complete a challenge on Color Switch when I got a text from Luke that made my heart flutter, just like it did yesterday. Ma crazy friend Lucas: Get dressed, I'll pick you up in 30 mins for our date :* I immediately got up, rushing towards the stairs, nearly tripping on a step. I got into my room and started making myself look presentable. I put on a gradient, white to light blue, scalloped tank-top on, along with shorts, white socks with a blue brim at the top and white converse. I covered my freckles with concealer, like always, and put on mascara. I filled in my eyebrows; topping everything off with strawberry-flavoured lip gloss. My hair was tied in a high-ponytail, and I was good to go. I went downstairs, hoping that Luke already arrived. Nope. Caleb's eyes were glued to the TV, until I came into the living room and he immediately turned his gaze to me. "Where are you going?" He asked. "Out." I replied, walking over to the glass coffee table to grab my house-keys. "Mom! Riley's going to see a boy!" Caleb shouted. Gosh. Brothers are so annoying. Way to state the obvious. "Leave your sister alone, Cal." My dad told him. "Riley, if you are going to see a boy, I suggest you hide him in a bunker if you want him to live another day." My dad threatened, turning his attention to me. "I'm only going to see Lucas." I told my dad, but I mostly aimed it towards my I don't-mind-my-own-business brother. "He's still a boy." My dad pointed out. I sighed. "Dad, it's OK. I'm not going to make grand-babies any time soon." "Oh. OK then. Be back by four." My dad said, turning his attention back to the TV. OK then. ** "And he shoots! What a beautiful shot! That leaves a tie between Tottenham and Manchester City. Who can get the last goal of the game?..." I sat down with my brother and dad, watching English football with them. I don't get why they can't just watch soccer - it'll be easier to understand. I decided to watch whatever they were just to pass the time, but it seems like time is going by slower. I never liked sports. Then, to my relief, I heard a knock at the door. I jumped up, running towards it, but calmed myself down before opening it, so I didn't seem like a psycho who was counting down the remaining minutes until he came. Pshh, I so didn't do that. "Hi." Luke grinned when I turned the handle and pulled the wooden door open. "Hey." I smiled back at him. He studied my face, before frowning and grabbing my hand, pulling me out of the house. He closed the door before walking to his house and opening the front door. "Wait here." He told me. I was confused in why he took me here. He said it was a date, but I'm only at his house. Oh no. I sound like a spoiled girlfriend. Luke came back with a packet of baby wipes, taking one out of the packet. Afterwards, he threw it on the stairs, and started wiping my cheeks with the wipe he took out. "What are you doing?" I asked, as be kept on wiping my cheeks, then moving to the bridge of my nose. "Getting rid of the concealer. I don't know where my mom keeps her makeup wipes, so baby wipes will have to do." He explained. "But, why are you trying to take off my concealer?" I asked. I only realized at that moment in tine that I was having a conversation with Luke about concealer. Great way to start a date. "Because that's what hides your freckles. And your freckles are what makes you my Lee." He explained. A burning sensation crept up to my cheeks. I smiled, exposing my top teeth. Once he was done taking off all the concealer, he threw the wipe into the bin. He walked towards the front door, before pausing and turning around to face me. "Now, let's retry this. Stay there, 'kay?" I nodded in response. Luke left the house, closing the door behind him. Where was he going? I heard knocks on the door. I realized what he meant at the very moment. I smirked. I walked forward, opening the door of Luke's house. "Hey." "Hi." I replied, smiling. He leaned forward giving me a quick kiss on the cheek, before taking my hand. "Ready, m'lady?" He asked. I nodded. "Let's go." ** I gasped when Luke pulled into the parking lot. We arrived at the theatre. Thank god I didn't wear a dress that looked like it was suitable to get married in. "What are we watching?" I asked. He grinned. "You'll see." I mean, as much I love surprises - this one was going to eat me alive. - Thankfully my conscious reminded me I'm literally outside the theatre, so I'll see in a mere two minutes. ** Turns out, we're watching Annie. I've never seen it before, nor have I seen the trailer to it, so hopefully it's a good musical. ** Turns out, it was. Luke was driving me home, and I should say I actually enjoyed myself. Even though all we did was watch a musical, I would say it's pretty chilled for the first date. Only, once we were near our houses, Luke carried on driving. "Er, Luke, you do realize you just passed our block." I told him. "Yep." Was all he replied with. Then we arrived. Meadow park.
