"We're here." My mom announced and we got out of the car. The car ride was not only the most boring experience a human being can go through, but also really awkward. The church bells were clashing into each other, creating a very cliché wedding. Not like I paid attention to all that, anyway. "Remember, meet us at the car so we can get going go the wedding reception. OK?" My dad asked, to make sure we understood. He scowled at Luke, still not liking the fact I brought a boy here. My mom kept trying to convince him that Luke is only my best friend, so he isn't a bad person. Obviously, he didn't listen. Sigh. "Yep." I replied. My parents, Caleb, Luke and I all went into the church, looking around for available seats. I sat at the back with Luke, since my mom, dad and Caleb took all the available seats at the front. "Lee, I'm bored." Luke whispered. "What do you want me to do about it?" I asked him, scrunching my eyebrows. Hurry up and get married already, Andrea! "Entertain me." He replied. I looked at him, giving him an are you actually being serious with me right now look. What it seemed like: We're here at a tears-of-joy event, absolutely beautiful, but my best friend clearly thinks otherwise, since he cares more about entertainment. But to be honest, it is pretty boring. Andrea and her nearly-husband are just staring at each other, while we're here witnessing this. Like, seriously, that's what social media is for. "How? If you didn't realize, we're at a wedding." I told him. He shrugged his shoulders. I decided to give him a deadly glare, so he understands in how I was being serious. It worked, since his shoulders slumped, and he blew a deep breath. Riley: 2, Lucas: 0 ** Eventually, they said their vows, meaning we could leave and get to the good stuff - cake. I'm surprised I'm not ancient yet - it seems like I've been in there longer than the amount of time dinosaurs were around. "Come on, get in." My mom informed Luke, Caleb and I. We all got into my parents car and started to head towards the wedding reception. Or, to be more specific, a big, white tent. "Is there cake?" I asked. Luke probably bit his tongue or the inside of his mouth, because I could see the urge to laugh in his eyes. But I was being serious. Hence why I glanced at him, and give him a glare. Such a good friend. "Yes, there's cake, Riley." My dad told me. "Is there Coca-Cola?" Caleb asked. And after that moment, the questions flooded in. ** "OK, you lot. If you really want to know what type of food and drinks there are, why don't you take a look for yourself?" My mom asked. I was about to question it when I realized we arrived. I say a big white tent, the one I thought about earlier, as well as white and silver balloons near the entrance. I was the first to get out the car. Obviously, the weather seemed to be against me, since the day I have to wear this flowing blue dress, there has to be wind trying to expose my undies, which I'm am currently wearing underneath. We walked inside, and my mom went up to the caterer to ask where we were sitting. She pointed at a table with six seats, meaning there was - luckily - enough space for Caleb. We all know his backside is too big for one chair. Since the newly weds at every wedding usually takes the first dance, I had to sit down and wait for them to finish. Marry Me by Jason Derulo. I sat in between Caleb and Luke. Caleb was far too preoccupied with my mom's phone to pay attention to what was going on, my parents were too busy admiring the venue to process what was going on, as well. Leaving just me and Luke to talk about whatever it may be. "So, cool wedding, right?" Luke decided to the first to talk. I'm glad he did, since it was really quiet. Not literally, but in the sense everyone's vocal cords were currently AWOL while Jason Derulo was playing in the background. "I guess so. It's kind of boring, though." I admitted. "Well, it wouldn't be boring if you were the one getting married." "Well, yeah. Then I would be the one that plans the wedding." I pointed out. Luke nodded his head. "True." ** Eventually, the song came to an end - meaning everyone else had the opportunity to dance. I was about to get up to eat some cupcakes, since now that the couple was done dancing the food stand was open, when Luke stopped me and held out his hand. "Would you like to dance?" He asked. I nodded and smiled. He took me to the dance floor, which was just a big square in the middle that wasn't covered in the purple carpet, and then he put his hands on my waist. I went red, but lucky for me, the lights were dim - meaning he couldn't see my flustered expression. I put my hands around his neck and started swaying along to his movements. After a while of dancing to the corny playlist Andrea created, Luke removed his hands and so did I. We walked over to the stand, with all the goods on it, and I decided to get a drink. After I finished drinking my lemonade (since I was underage to drink anything else) Luke decided to look at me, before speaking. "Do you want to go outside?" I nodded. We left the humid tent and started walking towards a small bench. We sat down, a few millimetres away from each other, both admiring the night sky. Wow, we've been at this wedding for ages. "Remember that time we decided to camp in your backyard?" Luke brought up. I smiled, indeed remembering of when I decided it would be a cool idea to camp in a small tent I had from the summer a year prior. I nodded. "Yeah. I cried when my mom told me we couldn't roast marshmallows in a fire." Luke chuckled. "Yeah, that was funny." I frowned. "Hey!" It was nice - remembering of all the times when we were little. Quite refreshing too, in a way. "Remember in how we used to play The Random game?" "Yeah! We used to have to make really random sentences, laughing at the funniest ones." I do miss the times when we were little. When we didn't have to worry about high school, or about weirdo drama queens like Isabella. "Wanna play?" He asked. I nodded. That would be quite fun. "OK, I'll start. A pig is flying." I started off. He grinned, before wearing his thinking face. After a few seconds of thinking, he finally started speaking. "Sweets are cheap." "Paris is the capital city of France." "Saturn is the biggest planet in our solar system." He said. "There are red buses in England." "I love you." "Skyscrapers are--" Just then, it hit me. I took in what Luke just told me. Maybe he was just kidding, since it was The Random Game after all. Saying 'I love you' to someone, is quite random. I started laughing. But I looked at his face, and something inside my gut told me he wasn't kidding. However, despite this feeling, my brain still went along with the practical joke feeling. But then, all of a sudden, Luke grabbed me by the shoulders, causing me to look at him. He looked into my eyes, and my heart started pounding with full force. He took a deep breath before speaking. "Riley, I'm not kidding. I love you."
