*** Joshua’s memory of how they all became vampires. ***
One day when Joshua and his five siblings (at the time) were young, Cecila, his mother, was attacked by a vampire who broke into their country Mansion. The vampire that attacked Cecila, happened to be royal (though they did not know this at the time), who believes that only the blood of a royal human was pure enough for him and other royal vampires.
Cecila was the Queen of Cheshia before and after being turned. They were staying in their mansion in the countryside of Cheshia, to take a break from the stress of royal life when Cecila was attacked. Her life was saved by her husband and their guard detail when they heard her scream. Her husband, King Solomon, heard her screams coming from the throne room and took 10 guards with him to find out what was happening.
When they had run into the throne room and seen someone attacking the queen, Solomon became so enraged that he ran at the man attacking his wife. This action caused Queen Cecila to drop to the ground as her attacker was ripped away from her. The guards split up, seven to help the king and three to help the queen. Solomon called for more guards to bind and shackle the queen’s attacker and take him to the dungeon so that he could be with his wife.
Not knowing that the man was a vampire and that the only way to truly chain him was to use silver, the king ordered for the man to be shackled in the strongest chains in the mansion. As the king went to check on his wife, Queen Cecila, one of her maids ran into him, King Solomon.
“Your Majesty. I am so sorry. I was just coming to find you. Her Majesty, the queen, doesn’t have much longer to live. The doctor said that the attacker drained her of at least 95 percent of her blood, and she is fading fast. There may not even be enough time to wake the children.” Cecila’s maid said.
“Okay. Don't wake the children. I will tell them in the morning. Bring me to my wife.” Solomon said.
The maid nodded and turned around, leading the way to Cecila and the doctor. King Solomon held the hand of his dying wife, telling her that everything would be okay and that he wouldn't remarry.
“What of the children? They will need a mother to help guide them.” Cecila said in a raspy voice.
“The children will have me and their nannies. That worked for me growing up and all I had was my nanny. My parents did not raise me at all. We have done better by our children.” Solomon said and kissed Cecila’s hand.
Cecila told him she loves him and the kids kissed his lips and then died.
“How did this even happen?” Solomon asked the doctor.
“I’m not sure. Whoever attacked the queen could drain her of almost all the blood from her body through these four little punctures in her neck.” Waylon, the doctor, said pointing to the four small puncture wounds on Cecila’s neck.
Shocked and not knowing what else to say, Solomon sat at his wife’s bedside, in silence for 10 minutes, just staring at his wife's now lifeless body.
“Leave me. I want to lay next to my wife for the last time. I will call the coroner before she turns cold. I just need a few minutes to help get me through the rest of my life without her.” Solomon said after 10 minutes.
They all nodded their heads, bowed, and left the queen’s bedchamber. Solomon held onto his wife as if his life depended on being able to hold her for the next 45 minutes. Once he felt her skin begin losing its warmth, he got up out of his marriage bed and told Queen Cecila’s handmaiden to call for the coroner. To which she nodded and left to get the royal coroner. This event happened over 320 years ago.
After Benson, the coroner, came to prepare the queen for burial, Solomon went down into the dungeons to interrogate the man who murdered his queen. The vampire who attacked the queen was still in shackles even though they were not silver, he decided to stay and see how this played out. He has a special ability to be able to read the minds of others. Yet, he couldn't read the mind of Cecila and even though he could hear Solomon coming a mile away, he couldn't seem to get into his head.
“So, the poor queen is dead? That’s too bad, I liked her. I will tell you something though, her blood was the purest I have tasted in a long time.” The vampire said as Solomon stood in front of his cell.
“You, shut up!” Solomon exclaimed as he went to punch the man.
“Uh, uh, uh. I wouldn't do that if I were you. You know, rock hard check bones and all.” The vampire said waving to his cheek and jawline.
But Solomon punched him, anyway, breaking his hand.
“See, now I told you not to do that. My name is Malachi Blythe. And you sir, have some real balls of steel. You just punched a vampire, a royal one at that, in the face. Whom, mind you, is improperly chained. (Lifting the shackles) These aren't silver. Very easy to break.” Malachi said as he stood and offer a handshake to Solomon.
“Malachi? Why does that name sound familiar?” Solomon said shaking Malachi’s hand confused.
“That’s probably because we’ve met before, Solomon. You saved me. And had I known that you are now the king and that this is your countryside mansion, I would never have attacked your queen. But good news. She’s not dead.” Malachi said talking to Solomon as if they are old and dear friends.
“I saved you? And wait, what do you mean she’s not dead? I just watched her die and laid next to her for the last 45 minutes.” Solomon said confused.
