“Thank you, everyone,” I dismissed the head of each department. While it was an informative meeting, it was boring compared to anything else I could be doing instead. I would have preferred spending time with Alejandro. I laughed, realizing Alejandro still had no idea about the contract with my company. It wasn’t that I was hiding it, it just hadn’t come up. I did wonder if he would be upset. “What’s so funny over there?” I looked up, not realizing there were still people in the conference room. “Oh, nothing.” Charles had been curiously staring. “Would you accept a cup of coffee? I know this amazing place around the corner,” he said, just as the last person walked out.
