She is done arguing today. So she went outside her room and tried to find her phone. Then she remembered her battery is empty. So she picked up the wireless phone on top of the coffee table and dialed her father’s number.

Mr. Tolentino: Hello!

Kam: Uhm. Good evening dad. Uhm,

Mr. Tolentino: Kam? Where on vacation why are you calling?

The sound of annoyance can be heard in the tone of his voice.

Armand who was just sitting on the sofa looks at her with disgust. She looks nervous and Huh! She will be so embarrassed after this. Playing hard to get when she manipulated everyone into her schemes. He thought. He can barely hear her voice since he was in the kitchen when she talked to her father. After a while, she came back looking defeated.

Kam was disappointed. There was an appalling revelation from her father. Her facial expression suddenly changed as she talked to him. Their business is going crazy. They can be bankrupt in two months if she won’t merge the two companies. She tried to convince her father that she could make something to save their business. But her father doesn’t trust her that much. He doesn’t trust her. He thought that getting married to Armand is the only way they could save the hotel. It was like an order from her father. “Father’s honor, daughter’s duty” If only her brother was alive if only her brother survived… she could be spared from the duty. They could have a better relationship than that what they have now. Her father still thinks that she was to be held responsible for her brother’s death. He could have run the business better. Now she will be suffering from the mistake she made 10 years ago. She never had a real relationship with her father since then. She held her tears so Armand would not see that she was too vulnerable after her talk with her father.

Armand: Well then Kathryna, did you cancel the wedding already?

Kam: You know what Armand. Just go home. Thank you for seeing me home, Armand. I guess we’ll see each other more these days.

Kam is feeling so lost. Any moment now she'll break down. Any moment now her tears will just fall and she can not help it. She needs to send Armand home before it happens. One more hurtful word and she'll break down and cry.

Armand: By the looks of it. I guess your father is not convinced that you found another man who is wealthier than me. You can not cancel the wedding.

She didn't say anything more. Her eyes are now starting to tear up. Her voice will break for sure if she says anything to this man.

She walked ahead of him and opened the door and the gate.

Armand could see the pain in her eyes when he got the chance to look at them for some time. He felt she wants to cry. Then suddenly he wants to comfort her, take her into his arms and hold her there until the pain that she is feeling would go away.

But then he shoves it out quickly from his mind. Without any more words, he drove quickly to his own home. He would see her tomorrow to find a wedding dress. She didn’t argue with him this time. She just nodded and locked her gate after he has gone to his car.

She can not believe this. She is going to marry the man she has been longing for but somehow he is also a different man. She wanted to marry him, but not this way. Not when she sees the disdain, disgust, and anger in his eyes every time she looks at them. Those wonderful eyes were then full of love. Now she can only see the pain and anguish.
