Chapter 36

Seikatu got back at me with a bunch of Chicken meal. A bunch, meaning, he got different varieties of it making me eyed it all deliciously. Not to mention the varieties of drinks on my table. “I—I can't eat all of these.” I stared and looked at him. “How much, I'll pay.”  Seikatu shook his head and sat parallel to me. “It's on me and no. I'll join you.” I stared at him with confusion. Isn't he working? “I'm not working. I just dropped something and you came.” he explained, answering my unsaid question. I drank in the sight of Seikatu in front of me. He's in his casual clothes. White shirt, jeans, and probably shoes. He still looks handsome on it in a simpler way, he always does. I blinked when our gazes met. This human ocean really has that current on me. Clearing my throat, I chose a meal and a drink, leaving the other on the center of the table.  Seikatu looked at me. “Are you on a diet?” he asked as he eyed my plate. I shook my head. “No, I really ate little. I'm used to this since my mother doesn't want me to get bloated or gain fats.” and I'm nervous in front of you. His little frown showed but he still nodded at me and chose a meal. “You can eat a lot. I'm not your mother.” My stomach growled, making me more embarrassed. Seikatu chuckled at me. “Your stomach agreed.” “Y— yeah.” I said biting my lower lip to stifle a smile. “Itadakimasu.” We said unbelievably in unison and looked at each other. Seikatu shrugged and I just smiled. The dine is carefree. I can talk, I can smile, I can sit unlady-like, and all not unlike how I dine with my parents at home who have an overflowing pressure. “So how is it like to be a scholar at the University of Tokyo? Souru mentioned it to me.” I asked as I chose another meal, my third meal to be exact. Seikatu helped me to get the food and drank his water. “Nothing's special but it helps. It covers school fees including the living expenses making my life easier.” “Is the amount enough for you? College requires a lot of Yens.” I scrunch my nose on the last statement. Seikatu nodded and looked at me. “It's more than enough.” I nodded. The University of Tokyo scholars receive one hundred twenty-six thousand in Japanese Yen per month. “Plus you're working.” I nodded in approval. “How independent.” Seikatu stared at me. “What?” he shook his head and I just shrugged as I continued eating. Hours have passed and we consume all of what he bought. It's satisfying but I think I can't stand it. “Are you feeling much better now?” Seikatu asked as we cleaned our table.  I nodded. “Yeah. I guess that breakdown happened because I'm hungry.” I chuckled and that made him smile.  I look at him and there I remember that I have to study. He stared back making me smile. “Your eyes are so beautiful.” I commented out of the ocean blue. “Can I have it?” Seikatu raised his brows and smiled. “I'm just kidding.” I chuckled and got my notebook from my sling bag. “You'll study?” he asked, making me look at him again.  I nodded. “Yeah. I have to. My parents, especially my father, want me to be on the top when the graduation ceremony happens.” He nodded and I continued searching for a pen in my bag. Did I bring a pen?  “No pen?” he asked as if reading my mind. “I can't remember if I brought one or not.” I stated honestly that he chuckled. His chuckle is adorable. “Let's buy one first and I might— can join you studying.” he offered. “Sure! You can help me with physics.” I smiled and was about to get my notebooks when he held it. “Come.” he said and brought my notebooks with him, making me follow. I wonder how it feels like to study with a prestigious university scholar? Seikatu opened the door for me and we're now side by side as we walk to somewhere— a*****e maybe. We talked as we walked, making me realize that we're now in a*****e.  “I'll just grab some books.” he said then walked to the book shelves after I nodded.  I, on the other hand, pick a pen that I will need and grab some highlighters, calligraphy pens, and a sketchbook that has Van Gogh's painting on its cover. I stare at it for a moment.  Should I go back to painting? Then, I felt someone's eye on me making me turn my head on where Seikatu is. My assumption was right for thinking it was him because he is. Seikatu has two books in his hands, walking with his eyes settled on me. Why does it feel so romantic?  Seikatu stopped a few feet away and stared from my eyes down to what my hand was holding. He got it from me and smirked. “A pen, huh?” he mocked. I rolled my eyes playfully. “Come. I have another thing to buy.” I said and walked towards the aisle with painting materials. I grab paint brushes, paints— a bunch of it, some art mats and more things I need. Seikatu holds it for me— he insisted on it, so by the time we went to the counter, his arms were full of my things plus his books. The cashier smiled at us and punched our items. Seikatu and I looked at each other and smiled. “I'll pay.” we said in unison, making us both chuckle. “You pay yours, I pay mine.” I negotiated and he just raised his brows. “It's my thing, I must pay.” “Fine.” he said in defeat and we paid for the items. Seikatu holds the paper bags in his hand, including mine. He said it's heavy. We walked towards it. I don't know where. “Where are we going?” I wondered. “Somewhere we can study . . .” he looked at what I had bought and smiled. “. . .and paint.” I nodded in response. “You said you'll study, now I doubt it.” He pointed out that it made me smile.  “I'll just try if I can still paint. Maybe after I study.” I shrugged. “You paint?” I nodded. “Before? I mean— I stopped years ago so . . .” I shrugged it off. “Why did you stop?”  I sighed, a heavy one. “I must focus on my studies, they said.”  “You can paint now.” he said, making me turn my head to him. “Says who?” “Me and your palms who itch buying this stuff.” he smiled and I melted.
