Chapter 9: Zhang Wei

, When Ruyi wakes up then feels like she's been hit by a train. She remembers what has happened last night.

Zhang Wei is at her side smiling, observing his wife. Zhang Wei caresses her face. “My love you're so cute."He says to his wife.

"Rrrag Wrrrrg, Rhhhg" Zhang Wei laughs like a maniac because his wife sounds like a dinosaur.

Tears flow in Ruyi's eyes, she tries to sit up but failed to do so. She’s feeling embarrassed about her voice sounding like a Dinosaur. And she’s mad at Zhang Wei too for laughing hysterically.

Zhang Wei notices his wife that is very angry so he stops laughing and coyly embraces the love of his life. He is 100% sure that he will be expecting a child after 9 months because of his hard work last night. 

"I’m sorry my love, for laughing at you. It’s just that you’re so cute." Zhang Wei says.

But Ruyi goes silent for a whole minute, pointing the laptop on his table. Zhang Wei walks to the table and brings his laptop to her.

"I’ll go to the kitchen my love so you can have your meal and Ill feed you." He thinks that his wife must have been so hungry from last night and since its past noon now."

"Alen what’s good food for pregnant woman," He asks his secretary

"..." Alen is beyond speechless. His boss surely is a beast if he makes his wife pregnant on their first night.

"Boss I suggest you make porridge for now and make sure to include fruits in her diet" Alen suggests.

While they are talking about what to serve for the pregnant lady. The said pregnant lady is busy looking at the file that Lilian sent to her.

"So this is the reason why you've been keeping the twins." All she could do now is wait for one month, but before that, he needs to ask his husband's help.

In the file, it reads "The blood of the same blood within the cup will turn into sacred blood." It has a picture of two metallic ancient cups, its holder is looking like a snake with ruby eyes.

And so she types in the notepad beside her, it was left by Zhang Wei so she doesn't need to talk.

Zhang Wei arrived at the room and sees that she is writing something.

"Yes my love, I'll help you with that, I'll just have the perfect set of hands. But first, you need to eat so you can be strong for our baby." Zhang Wei then feeds her with porridge 

"..."Ruyi's face was aghast by what she had heard from the mouth of Zhang Wei. And so Ruyi kicks his husband’s legs.

His husband is not bothered at all by her kick. He thinks that his wife looks like a tiger ready to pounce on him. So he puts the tray aside and tickles his wife. The people in the mansion have heard there activity last night and they can’t help but smile, because the mansion had become lovely since the madam came.

A month has passed.

Ruyi is now living at his husband’s mansion since their date and now they are going to the bidding convention of their NanoTech product. She didn't forget that her family's company will participate in the same event.

"Zhang I need your men to guard the entrance of the hotel," She says to Zhang Wei.

"Okay, my love". Zhang Wei answers.

They are now ready to go, she dresses herself a long-sleeve gown and her hair is cascading like a waterfall at her back while his husband is wearing an Armani suit.

"Did you tell Alen what to do?” Ruyi asks.

"Yes my love, he’s been prep. Zhang Weis answers.

~At the Hotel~

The couple strode out of their car walking at the red carpet looking like gods and goddesses. The media are in awestruck, wondering who is the beautiful woman with the rumored underworld mafia is.

"Who would be this goddess master Wei?" The reporter asks.

"This is my beautiful wife, Ruyi" He directly answers.

The media is going berserk, by Zhang Wei’s statement. They can’t believe that this cold businessman would settle in marriage at an early age.

The couple just let the media absorb the news. As they walk out from the red carpet, to the center of the bidding convention. Walking elegantly with her signature cold look and elegance.

At the red carpet, Ai Chen and Mo Liang were behind them, her sister can’t help but be angry at her sister for stealing her spotlight. It was her time to reveal the news to the media that she is pregnant with Mo Liang's child.

“You’ll be sorry, Ruyi that you've crossed my path" Ai Chen is thinking on her mind on torturing her dear sister." While the person at her side has no idea of their family's evil plans.

~At the Grand Hall~

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen for the Annual Gathering.” The host says.

The Chen family’s table is in the VVIP area with her mother and father. Some other CEO corporations with their secretaries are present in the VIP area. There are products that are present in the stage, encased in fiberglass and some were presented by using 3D holograms that are from Ruyis company.

As the couple was seated at the farthest table. To avoid from curious eyes. The couple would prefer to have their alone time than socializing with other businessmen.

Zhang Wei grabs an orange from the waiter. “My love, have some of this. Since we will be expecting a child. Don’t drink alcoholic beverages from now on.” Ruyi gasps as she hears the man.

“Are you crazy Zhang Wei”

Alen sees his boss having their usual banter with the madam. “Boss, we are now in position. The spy has been placed.” Alen says to his Boss on the phone.

“Good, in 5minutes the plan will commence. Be on guard. Especially for your madam. Assign the two of them as an extra guard.” Zhang Wei replies to Alen.

The host now calls the Chen family to present.

The CEO of Chen Corporation is standing at the stage while explaining the new technology, that their company created. It receives some good compliments, even though the presentation hasn’t ended yet.

Ruyi strode forward to the stage carrying a bow and one arrow. She looks like the Goddess of Death, hunting its prey for the night. Then she points the arrow at the man behind her father. Then releases it.

The crowd gasps of what they had just witnessed. After a minute of pregnant silence…

Ruyi then speaks with conviction.

“Oh! that man is carrying a deadly bomb. She says nonchalantly.

 You should be grateful that I caught him” Ruyi says to the crowd.

His father angrily points his finger to Ruyi “Nonsense! He is part of my company. How dare you! useless child.”

Ruyi's face is still ice as cold. “Then your company must be the one to blame. For my companies loss of Nano Technology.”

“What technology are you talking about!” His father says.

The crowd now understand the drama that is unfolding in front of their eyes.

Ruyi notices earlier that there was a chemical smell around the area. Since her nose is very sensitive. That’s why he calls the bodyguard of his husband who specializes in bombs to look for it.

She is thinking if her family would use mass hysteria from the crowds telling that there is a bomb. The people would surely panic with that news. That could be used as a way to easily kidnap her. In her mind. “But if they would do that then there must be an authentic bomb placed somewhere in the hotel since her family will surely tie all the loose ends.” That’s why she didn’t hesitate to immobilize the man on sight.

“You already know what it is dear father. You really think that I would just lay my plan just like that, in an easy-access place. Think carefully father, for your next move.” Ruyi says to her father.

His father is now sweating profusely. His legs are shaking. The crowds could see that with his condition, they could only call a medic to help the old man.

“You're a murderer. You just murdered someone in cold blood. People are a witness to that.” His father says.

“Someone call the police!” He says to the crowd.

“Oh, now you're thinking about murder. You’re a hypocrite!” Ruyi says to his father.

“And to tell you, father, I didn’t murder anyone it was just an illusion created by my own invention that you just stole. The arrow was made by Nano Technology so when the arrow hit him it turns into a rope to incapacitate him. And for the blood, it was just a 3D hologram.” Ruyi makes her voice louder so the crowd can hear it.”

“No, it was you who stole it!” His father says.

“Then be my guess and prove it” Ruyi replies.

Then his father wears the suit that was the same as Ruyis's creation. He then asks someone to shoot him. He points to his wife.

Ruyi's mother then stands up carrying a handgun aiming straight at his husband's leg.

BANG!!!

The sound of a gun resonates through the hall. And his father is now bleeding on the floor.

“Feng Chen, I’m sorry, I didn’t know! It would fail” Her wife says to Feng Chen.

“Ah f**k!” Feng Chen is wailing at the floor bleeding.

“Why didn’t someone call an ambulance. Ai Chen calls an ambulance.” Her mother instructed to Ai Chen.

“Mom, I couldn’t get reception.” Ai Chen says.

Ruyi then brings a chair upfront.

“Oh dear, I jammed the signal so no one like you can call outside.” She says to her sister.

“I told you, dear Father, that you can’t prove it. The one you stole was… let’s just say I made it defected because I know that some rodents would find my trap. And that rodent is you and now your trap.

Tomorrow this incident will go to the media, painting the CEO Corporation as a fraud including your beloved family.”

Xia Chen is now standing and ready to slap Ruyi but before she could touch her, someone kick her in the stomach.  The crowd can see that Zhang Wei is beyond furious about the act itself towards his wife.

“You are not qualified to touch her or even be in the same ground as her. You piece of s**t!” Zhang Wei spits with venom to the mother of Ruyi.

Ai Chen then says softly with her crocodile tears “Sis, why did you have to this. I know that we don’t see each other since childhood. But it’s because you have a mental illness. I was always the one who was with you in your hardest time.”

Ruyi sneers, it’s true that the original owner of this body is diagnosed with mental illness that’s why they estranged Ruyi Chen in the south mansion. But it’s no right for a parent to treat her like that. Besides they are just bidding for the right time that’s why they have been keeping her as a sacrifice “once must give life and one must give.”

So there’s no point in curing Ruyi it will be just a waste of money. Since Falon inhabits the body, she trains her mind to be strong, and with time she is able to put her plan in place.  

Back at the scene. Ruyi looks at her sister and says “Oh, sister your compassion has been your mask since then but don’t worry since you love that mask so much, let me peel it off your face.”

Ruyi then presses a remote control.

It plays a video of Ai Chen when she was young, putting Ruyi on a dark dungeon in their mansion the girl in the dungeon is crying and screaming until she passed out. Her fingers were full of blood because of scratching the wall. Ai Chen then smiles evilly to her sister “My dear sister, you should have never been born.”

The crowd was silent for a minute absorbing the information that has been plastered at their faces.

The second video was in the room of Ai Chen on her 18th birthday having s*x with a guy that is not her fiancée. That day, Ruyi put some cameras on her clothes that function as a small robot, it was part of Ruyi's invention. Its feature looks like a crab in close up but turns invisible into the naked human eye.

That was her purpose in attending that wretched party, before that she contacted a paid actor to seduce the birthday girl.

Ai Chen is screaming halfway through the video but whatever she does. All eyes were focused on the video watching it till the end. 

She lunges to Ruyi who is holding the remote but Mo Liang holds her hand.

” Is that even my child?” Mo Liang asks angrily to Ai Chen. “Or you just drugged me for that so you can use me as the father.”

Mo Liang then walks out of the hall. He was thinking that since they were engaged since they were child Ai Chen would be cordial to their arrangement. But turns out his wrong.

The crowds were now dispersing since the good show has ended. In their mind, they were contemplating. Since in this society the better you hide your dirty laundry the better your standing in the society will be. They were no better than the Chen Family.

 The Chen Family were left to survive on their own since no one dares to lend a hand at the Grand Hall.

Mo Liang is waiting at the entrance. He wants to meet Ruyi and talk to her. He can’t help but admire the cold beauty since then at the party. He has been finding an opportunity to talk to her since then.

Reminiscing in his childhood days. He didn’t know that Ai Chen has a sister who they abandoned and treats like an animal. If he knew he would have helped her. Since he always visits the Chen mansion.

At the entrance.

Zhang Wei is holding his wife lovingly. When Mo Liang walks to them.

Ruyi is feeling a bit dizzy so she leans on Zhang Wei.

“Ruyi, I didn’t know what they have done, if I know. I would have helped you get out of that hellhole.” Mo Liang says to Ruyi.

Zhang Wei moves his stance to protect his wife. “She is now better and she has me in her life.

Her H-U-S-B-A-N-D.” Zhang Wei enunciated the word husband.

Mo Liang is shocked by the words coming out of Zhang Wei’s mouth. He knows that it’s a bit too late now to profess his love for Ruyi. He would just retreat for now and observe the couple from afar. He’s a patient man so he would just bid his time.

. “Zhang just take me to our home...” Ruyis's voice sounds weak then she fainted at the arm of Zhang Wei.

“My love!” Zhang Wei is frantic when she just saw Ruyi fall out in his arm. Then he checks if she’s breathing. After he is sure that she has a pulse. He gets his phone and calls Alen to bring a female doctor into the mansion.

Mo Liang sees the couple going to the car followed by their bodyguard.

He follows them and goes to his Ancestral mansion to break off his engagement.

~Night at the Mansion~

Zhang Wei places Ruyi in their bed then allows the doctor to check up on her. His face is devoid of emotion thinking back on the video that Ruyi presented at the hall. He recalls her cries and screams.

He feels that his heart has been torn apart.

Seeing her face full of hope that someone would help her. And soon as the days pass her face becomes unemotional because of the trauma that she has experienced. He wants to kill her family at that moment but he knows that his wife has painstakingly planned their future demise so he can’t ruin that for his own satisfaction. It must be his wife.

Even though he himself doesn’t have a good childhood since he was an orphaned and later he was adopted by an old man who trains him every day and night to take over the underworld.

 But at least he has the old man who loves him like his own son and his subordinates who are there for him.

The doctor notices that this cold man is pacing a lot. That’s why she broke the ice by saying.

” Sir, your wife is one month pregnant.” That seems to stop Zhang Wei from pacing since he faces the doctor.

“What did you say?” Zhang Wei wants to clarify what he did just hear.

“Hmm, Sir, I said your wife is PREGNANT.” The doctor tells him.

Zhang Wei is absorbing the word then leaps to Alen at his side and shakes his secretary like a twig.

“You hear that Alen! I have a baby! My BABY!” Zhang Wei shouts at the whole mansion.

“….” Alen and the bodyguards.

“That’s a great news boss! We're happy for you! In Alen’s mind, the boss sure is a beast.

Zhang Wei is very happy, feeling like he’s on the top of the world. He then asks the doctor about the necessary preparations.” Give me the name of the best doctor that specializes in a pregnant woman”.
