The guy that took the hurt way...

350 Words
Jon was tall, dark, and handsome. I remember the first time I saw him. I asked Faith if she had seen the new guys. She laughed and said I don't care about that. I knew that they would flock to her. Somehow they always did. I've learned that it easy to get over heartbreak if you want to. The first time she saw him.... She cared. Jon was tall. With jet black hair and blue eyes. He turned heads and he knew it. He wasn't cocky about it though. He had a nice attitude and wasn't conseeded. He was someone that you could talk to and he was kindhearted. Faith's last boyfriend made no bones about not liking me and at times I kept my distance not wanting to cause her any trouble with him. They argued alot and she never would tell me about what brought on the disagreements. I had a feeling alot of times it was because of the amount of time we spent together.I felt like maybe he was jealous because he lived about 45 minutes from her and I was always hanging out with her when he couldn't. Jon had a past that he didn't want anyone to know about. He came to summer camp that year even though he had almost reach the age where he wouldn't be allowed. He was 17 and we aged out at 18 years old. He was from a small town about 1 hour from our hometown. When they met it was almost like you could see the sparks. She was crazy about him from day 1. They spent the next week trying to get to know each other between Bible study and other camp activities. We would watch them play sports for the camp trophies. They would come to our games as well. I say they because he also had a best friend there. I never found a guy at summer camp to date though. When camp ended we exchanged addresses and phone numbers. That's what had to be done before the age of internet and social media.
