It was a long and painful few days for Russell, but eventually he got the nod. Russell was anxious while he and Peter sat with Dr. Thompson. The man had a wide smile.
“We were thorough during the surgery, Russell. And I have the report from the pathology lab here. The cancer was limited to the section of colon that was removed and hadn’t spread. I’m confident that we caught it all. I’d still like to do three months of chemo once you’ve fully recovered from surgery. We’ll book an appointment through your clinic if that would be okay. Congratulations, gentlemen. I don’t often get to pass on news this positive, so this is a real treat for me.” The guys shook hands with the oncologist and left.
